Great safari, even BETTER GUIDE!
We have just been dropped off at the airport by our amazing Safari Guide after an incredible 3 days in Nyerere National Park. We booked this trip only 2 days before arriving from Zanzibar, the prompt responses and communication (1am request & response) is why we chose this company, we received outstanding service before arriving for our safari, and altered the itinerary to suit our desires no problem at all.
The safari itself was incredible, such beautiful scenery, incredible wildlife, and quite often the only vehicle driving in much of the national park, which was amazing!
Our guide/driver's name was Michael (highly suggest you request), he was so knowledgable and went off-road driving in difficult conditions due to previous rains, to try find the animals we were keen to find. We felt so safe around the wildlife and on the roads in his hands. We only had 3 days with him which waa a shame as he quickly became a good friend. But we will sure be back and 100% be choosing this company and Michael for our future safaris, we recommend you do the same!

The food is very good, tour guides buys us drinks for our money that we gave him. Also there is additional snacks in the car. In this company there is a lot to see.

Absolutely brilliant experience with Pioneer Safaris!
Our trips to Botswana in the Summer (July and August) of 2024 and 2025, exploring three incredible regions—Central Kalahari, Khwai, and Moremi were truly unforgettable. Choosing Pioneer Safaris was the perfect decision. The team was exceptionally welcoming, every service matched the description, and both the owner and guide were friendly and approachable. In fact, we truly believe our guide was among the best in the entire country at spotting wildlife!
We stayed in spacious individual tents, each with its own toilet and shower, which made our stay extremely comfortable. The service was outstanding and deserves five-star recognition.
Without a doubt, our next safari adventure will be with Pioneer Safaris.

Poor organization. Until the very last moment we did not have fixed schedules.
The timings were never clear. On the morning of the second safari we were given a time that was not respected at all; instead, we had to wait an extra hour for another group to finish breakfast.
On the first day, the jeep had several problems and only started when pushed — not exactly a great or reassuring way to begin a safari.
Until the last minute we didn’t know what time we were supposed to leave for the airport. They realized this far too late, threw us into another jeep, and we had to rush like crazy, arriving at the airport where they almost didn’t let us check in.
A nightmare. Stressful and very disrespectful, considering how much money we paid.
I strongly recommend turning to professional agencies instead.

Great tour leader
We were going on a three day safari from Fig Tree lodge with Peter Ngigi as driver and tourleader. Peter drove the big Landcruiset with excellent skills and managed to give us fantastic experiences and the possibility of taking really great pictures. Peter is a really nice guy and his knowledge of Masai Mara and the animal life there lifted the safari to a High and satisfying level. I can only give Peter my absolute best recommandations.

Excellent animal drives with knowledgeable driver
My family and I were five people who were picked up in a big Land Cruiser at our accommodations and drove us to the Mara Fig Tree Camp in the early afternoon. During our stay here, our driver Peter Ngigi took us on an evening and full day Animal drive across the Masai Mara. He ensured we had wonderful trips both times. Well organised with timing, car and refreshments, but most importantly by being exceptionately friendly and likeable, while also being a fountain of information on the many many animals we saw (only missing the rhino!) and answering all our questions. I praise his work highly.
