Our Best Trip Ever - Zohar is The One and Only Tour Operator You Need For a Safari
Look no further, give Lilian and the Zohar team a call and book with them as they’ll be your one stop shop for a well rounded, organized and exceptional Safari tour and you just might find yourself a couple new found friends in Tanzania!
Lilian and the Zohar team are absolutely phenomenal - phenomenal both as people and as a company! If you’re reading this part of the review it’s likely because you’re in a position my partner and I were in several months ago where we came across so many Safari tour companies who all seemed to offer the same experiences and it was tough to differentiate between them all. After narrowing it down to three companies, the difference and what led us to book with Zohar was a phone call we had with Lilian where her love and passion for what she does shined through the phone. My partner and I had a general idea of where we wanted to visit on the Safari but being unfamiliar with the geography of the land and logistical details, we didn’t know what we didn’t know and Lilian helped to close that gap by tailoring an itinerary that perfectly suited the 5 days we wanted to spend.
Itinerary
We arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport and was met by 2 extremely pleasant and welcoming members of the Zohar team, David and Scholar, who greeted us with watermelon juice, fried banana chips and two personalized water bottles with our names on it! From there, we travelled to Arusha to spend a night at the perfect accommodations after a long day of travelling and the following morning we began our Safari tour by flying to central Serengeti (HIGHLY recommended vs driving to optimize time and for the stunning views!!!) and spending two memorable nights at a camp in the Serengeti!!! It was also at this camp that my partner and I celebrated our anniversary with a surprise “bush dinner” (pictures below) I planned for her with the gracious help of Lilian. From there we travelled to Ndutu and witnessed the Great Migration which was surreal to witness in person and lastly, we visited Ngorongoro and spent a night with breathtaking views of the crater which can’t be put into words in this review. Lilian did a great job recommending the perfect accommodations for our needs and budget. Every place we stayed throughout the Safari was comfortable, safe and serene. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was also freshly cooked daily.
Guide & Wildlife on Game Drives
Ahmed was our guide for the Safari and THE BEST person we could have asked for to guide us! Ahmed is extremely intelligent about the wildlife, ecology of area and way of life in Tanzania in general. Given his years of exposure and experience in the Safari tour business as his father was also a guide, he knew the parks like the back of his hand. Ahmed also had a keen eye for wildlife so he would often see things we couldn’t. Lastly, Ahmed knew almost every other guide we drove by so he was able to communicate with them and get intel on what wildlife they saw with their group and where so we could then drive in that direction ourselves. After spending our time with Ahmed, we truly believe that a good guide can be the difference between you having an average tour vs a stellar, life changing tour and for us Ahmed was outstanding! Ahmed, we’re looking forward to seeing you again when we return to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro, as you promised us :)

We 100% recommend booking with Zohar and will 100% be giving Lilian a call once we’re ready to experience Tanzania again! Thank you Lilian, Ahmed and the entire Zohar

Amazing safari!
The tour actually exceeded my expectations! Our guide Kikitu was so well informed about the Maasai Mara inhabitants and routes, he could manoeuvre the nasty potholes like a pro! We were the ones helping other drivers who got stuck. We saw a lot of animals except the Leopard which did not want our intrusion, all in all, the trip was worth it and Kikitu provided a great atmosphere so much that the whole team was chatty and friendly to each other. The organisation was great, I would highly recommend them :)

Beyond My Wildest Expectations
15 days on a family safari in Tanzania was the most unique and breathtaking experience I've had in my 65 years.
This trip was fantastic in every way. It was packed with information yet never seemed rushed. The game drives and guides were excellent, giving us plenty of possibilities to admire Africa, its splendor, and all the amazing animals. It was also a cultural immersion event that gave me a better understanding and appreciation for Tanzania.
In every way, my family and I enjoyed every minute of our Tanzania safari with Meijo Safaris. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of activities available. We loved the game drives and getting up close and personal with the animals, especially the Big 5, which we will never forget. Similarly, the Maasai Village experience wowed us, and walking around Lake Natron was a lot of fun. Our entire itinerary, including our guide, driver, transportation, lodging, meals, and activities, exceeded our expectations.

Exceeded expectation in EVERYWAY‼️‼️
I found Axis on safari booking.com. They had so many different tour packages, seemed very flexible and similar to what I was looking for.
Every step of the way from the pre departure coordination to the pick up to the tour itself. Just like I mentioned in the title, my whole 5 day safari tour package has just exceeded my expectations on every way. My plans changed a couple times to the number of people to the date and type of safari. In the end I traveled as a solo female traveler, I had a lot of doubts and was nervous about so many things first time to Kenya, in the end A Huge Thanks to Lennox, Sylvia and mostly our amazing tour guide and driver Jimmy for the most incredible experience of a LIFETIME‼️‼️‼️

Archie was very easy to contact and was able to fulfil all of the things I wanted to do in Africa.
After booking my tour with Africa Uncovered 8 months prior to my trip, Archie was incredibly helpful in supporting and answering any questions I had.
I did a 7 day tour of Victoria Falls, Chobe and Hwange national park. Cosmas and Jafara were on hand straight away at the airport and they were my guides for the trip. Although they didn’t do any of the guiding for the actual tours I went on, they were there for anything I needed, drove me around to each destination and were amazing company during meal times.
The team were great at organising excursions. I had a walking tour of Victoria falls, a helicopter tour - 100% worth every penny, a visit to the elephant orphanage - personally I wouldn’t go back as wasn’t the natural authentic experience I was hoping for, I went on the jet boat - although this was cool to see the falls from below, there wasn’t much ‘jet boating’, and did a gorge swing which was terrifying but great. Next time I’d try out one of the activities on the Victoria falls bridge. A really highlight was the evening sunset dinner cruise along the Zambezi. Pure Africa was the boat Archie booked me into and they were incredible!
I also got the chance to experience Boma. This is a great place for dinner where African culture really comes to life - think traditional food, dancing and drumming!
Then I headed to Chobe national park in Botswana. Make sure you get a dual visa if doing this trip as you will head back into Zimbabwe after. I went on an afternoon river safari which was amazing - all the hippos, birds and elephants were about.
The next day I had 2 game drives in the park, one at sunrise and one in the afternoon. Chobe is pretty small so you’re guaranteed to see all the animals when cruising around. The elephants were a particular highlight for me. Seeing them
With they babies playing in the water was magical. I was booked into the Kwalape safari lodge. As there were lots of other big groups, the hotel put on a show from local dancers which was amazing!
I then headed to Hwange, a 3-4 hour drive from Chobe back into Zimbabwe. We stopped off at the painted dogs conservation where I learned all about the amazing work locals are doing to try and stop poachers from killing this beautiful species. I then had the privilege of visiting the homestead of a local family in the village. They welcomed me so beautifully, showed me their home, their crops, they demonstrated how they cook, create their houses, they got all the animals around - it was a time I will remember.
In Hwange I stayed at the Miombo safari lodge. Beautiful setting with a huge water hole in the middle to encourage animals at night and boy did they come! Elephants can each evening and kudus also came to get some water.
The next day I did a 10 hour game drive in Hwange national park - what a place! We didn’t even touch the sides but it was amazing to see the different vegetation and species. I was lucky enough to see everything I wanted: zebra, giraffe, lions, leopard, kudu, eland, elephants galore, impala, zazu birds, hippos and birds galore!
I went home a very happy lady!
One thing to consider when booking these holidays is the price of things. Zimbabwe is much more expensive than Botswana. That includes food, drink, tipping etc.

Excellent Experience
This was a great experience overall. I had a 3 night Safari of Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru and was split between 2 groups as I moved locations. This wasn’t an issue and both guides were great and I would recommend both (Kikitu and Richard). I saw lots of animals, met great people, ate authentic Kenyan cuisine and felt 100% comfortable alone and would recommend this to any of my friends looking for a fun Safari at a reasonable price.
