Everything we could of asked for!
My boyfriend and I recently returned from our trip to Uganda and Rwanda with Mukisa Safaris and we really couldn’t of asked for anything more - from start to finish it was perfect. Right from the beginning, everything was organised with the upmost precision and professionalism. Richard tailormade our dream trip which took into account our specific needs. Before, during and after our trip the communication was great; Richard was always on hand to answer any questions and to make sure we were comfortable with everything.
Our guide Joan and driver John were amazing - their knowledge and expertise was really impressive and we couldn’t of asked for a nicer pair to look after us and spend time with on our trip! Everything went smoothly and was just as expected; the accommodation was great, the food always excellent and of course seeing all the wildlife was the highlight.
It really was a once in a lifetime trip and couldn’t recommend Mukisa Safaris highly enough. It’s nice to book with a local travel agency as you know exactly where your money is going and compared to other English tour operators, you’re definitely getting your moneys worth. Thank you once again for our wonderful trip!

Brilliant Group Safari Namibia and Botswana
Lead by our outstanding guide, Misheck Mahonye, our group of 16 experienced the trip of a lifetime. The Namibia Sand and Sea desert, Etosha NP, the Okavango Delta and Chobe NP were the obvious highlights, however, Misheck brought Africa alive for us with his expansive knowledge, his attention to detail, his humour and the effort he put in to ensuring we all had an amazing trip.
The lodges were very comfortable, the food outstanding and the vehicle very appropriate for the long distances and bumpy roads. We could not fault the experience and recommend Kiboko to anyone wishing for a truly African adventure.

Amazing 17 days safari
We wanted a personalized itinerary for our 17 days budget safari, and we couldn't have been more happy about the tour that Australken organized. It was perfectly thought from start to finish, accommodation was very well chosen, the guide, Nelson, was very knowledgeable and respectful with the nature and animals, we had a cook, Daniel, who cooked for us every day a delicious food. Overall, it execeede our expectations!

Journey of the Wildebeest
We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day tour. We especially liked our guide Huruma. He not only was an excellent driver, but very knowledgable about the wildlife/country, he was also very kind to everyone we met (including stopping to tell a school bus about a leopard sighting we just had). He quickly responded to our likes and dislikes and knew whether to stop for photos or keep driving. He is a truly professional guide and an asset to your team. We saw all of the big 5 multiple times, the amount of wildlife surpassed our expectations.
The camps we stayed in were all fantastic, our favourite being the Namali which we felt was slightly higher end. The only slightly disappointing camp was Chaka as we didn’t realise it wasn’t all inclusive and the food was not as good quality as we had the rest of the week. In all of the camps we were welcomed and looked after like family.
Overall the organisation of the tour was very good. We had no logistical issues. The itinerary was as sold. It might be worth highlighting to guests the extent of the driving between locations. We had no issue, but for some people they might not enjoy it like we did.
Cooked lunches (with wine) was a nice touch and everyone we told in the evenings were also slightly jealous.
We arrived at Kilimanjaro airport and it took approx 3 hours to get through immigration. It might be worth suggesting to guests that they could do the visa online before travelling and this would save considerable time.

Great safari in Kenya
We booked a 4 day safari in Kenya (Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara). The booking process was smooth, they answered the emails very quickly, adjusting to our requests. We had a problem with the car on the first day but they reacted very quickly and we were able to continue with the schedule. We had a great time in Lake Nakuru and even more in Maasai Mara where we were able to see the big five and more.
Great customer service (Tiago), and good drivers/guides made our short safari an unforgettable experience. I definitely recommend Spirit of Kenya and I would choose them again if I go back to Kenya.
Thanks.

Wonderfully organised, amazing guide and unbeatable game viewing
Evelyn was very helpful and clear from our first contact and no detail was left unchecked, she and George even came to see us after the tour to see how it went.
Our guide Hozza was wonderful, his knowledge on wildlife, local history and environment and tribes in the area is fascinating. He tried to teach us basic Swahili and new and interesting facts about animals every day. On the night that an inquisitive hyena wandered into camp he even escorted us to the bathroom to ensure we felt safe.
Hozza honestly made an already amazing trip into something truly special.
The vehicle was very comfortable and spacious and very well looked after, his driving skills (especially when taking the quality of the roads into consideration) are phenomenal!
We did a mix of budget and mid range accommodation and every night was a fabulous new experience. Basic camping is a great experience, though perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea, you feel so close to nature. Tent sleeping is not the most comfortable experience, though definitely worth trying for a night, if you can afford to us the tented camps they are a spectacular experience, luxury from another era.
At no point on this trip were we dissatisfied with our choice of tour company and can only sing their praises and thank them for a once in a lifetime experience!
Asante sana Hozza, Evelyn, George, Isaac and Goodluck!

Terrible Vehicle - Great guide
We were extremely disappointed with our experience with Swala due to the dilapidated condition of the vehicle we were put in. The car was clearly greater than 20 yrs old, super high mileage and in terrible condition. It was very underpowered and clearly badly misaligned. To go straight, the steering wheel was at 4 o'clock. We were always the slowest on the road; our guide did not seem comfortable driving the vehicle at regular speed. 3 of 6 seat belts were nonfunctional, passenger doors couldn't be opened from inside and none of the seats had headrests. The "cooler" did not cool so drinks were always warm. We had several harrowing moments. Leaving the Serengeti, the car made a sparking noise and smoke came out the dash vents. Fortunately, after waiting a bit, it restarted and smoke stopped. Another time, while climbing out of Ngorongoro crater, transmission popped out of gear and the car made a bad smell and initially, would not go back in gear. We held our breaths the rest of the trip out of the crater. Also, the brakes started squeaking horribly and we needed to take the time to take it to a local mechanic because we had no faith that the car could be safely driven. Thank god for our outstanding guide, Sunday, who not only was extremely talented at picking out wildlife and providing a fountain of knowledge regarding animals and habitats but also possessed much needed mechanical skills. Throughout our 7 day safari, I did not see a single other vehicle in nearly as poor condition. Honestly, we felt very unsafe and several times seriously considered abandoning the rest of our trip out of safety concerns..
So if you are looking for a safari with an extra dose of discomfort and fear, Swala is for you. Otherwise, I'd stay away. Sunday our guide, however, was outstanding and I would go again with him (with a different company) anytime.
FYI: Our car did not resemble any of those in their pictures. My guess is they are too embarrassed to show it..
