DO NOT book with MY Friend in Africa---He is not friend and detrimental to the tourist business of Tanzania. I was pond off on other tours
and they expected me to pay---but I had my proof of payment with me. I had to pay for some things again in order to get there---operators
say he is NOT A GOOD GUY---

Good communication, great animal safari for the budget - but lots of travel and a moving itinerary.
4/5

I travelled with my sister on the 12 day safari in Kenya and Tanzania.
David is an excellent communicator, which made booking informative and simple.
Collection from the airport prior to the safari was a nice complimentary service.
When we were collected to pay our itinerary was changed.
Our driver in Kenya, Stanley (Stano), was fantastic. He knew where to go to find the animals and was always happy to pause so we could take photo's. The accommodation in Kenya was varied from very nice to functional. Keep in mind its a budget holiday so manage your expectations on the temperature and volume of water in your shower.
Do take a power bank to recharge your phone - electricity access is variable. I took a solar charger and power bank and didn't need any mains supply.
Minivan transport in Kenya was fun as we shared with 6 other people, who helped make the holiday. The roads are bumpy and some of the driving styles are not what you might normally expect - but its fun.
We did the hot air ballon, which is very expensive for an hour's ride and it is hit and miss what you drift over. The champagne breakfast is also nice and we were glad we took the opportunity.
The transfer from Kenya to Tanzania was lengthy and involved a series of transport changes. The shuttle bus is public transport to Arusha and would have been improved by a dedicated tour operator vehicle.
We were issued a revised itinerary in Tanzania, same places but in a different order - which was fine. It appearered this part of the safari had been subcontracted out to another company. Our booking of tents with bed and bedding was downgraded to tent with mat and blanket. We did ask for the original but when we got to the camp we still got the mat and blanket.
Accommodation in Tanzania was mixed, some very nice and some a basic tent which you take with you on the 4x4.
More great travel mates - 6 of us plus the driver, Gervas - who was excellent and the cook.
The food is mixed but good considering its travelling with you and cooked on site.
The trip back from Arusha to Nairobi is again very long after a long safari, but I must say both companies were very helpful in adjusting our travel arrangements after my sister was unwell and unable to travel.
Overall I would probably just stick with Kenya for safari. I'm not sure adding Tanzania added to what we saw but did significantly add to the travel time. As long as you can go with the bumpy roads and 'flexible' itinerary its a great budget holiday.

Another extremely enjoyable visit to Africa-Kenya worth every penny
5/5

We had previous experience of Africa safaris but this was one of the most amazing and well-arranged trip. Everyone we dealt with was so welcoming and efficient. This was very good indeed and, for the friends we went with it was such a wonderful experience to visit Kenya. We visited the Mara and it was really the Mara ..!!! Animals all over ..the experience will take your breath away literary.....This was easily one of the best trips we've ever had thanks to Daniel and The very friendly Guides of African Sermon Safaris. Thank you Again.

Great and unforgettable experience
5/5

We had a great time. The trip to/ from Selous Game Reserve was quite long but it gave us the opportunity to experience the real Africa, so it's worth it! The accomodation, Africa Safari Camp, was really nice, as well as the staff, even the food was good. We chose the 3 day package. During the safari boat we reached a beach where we saw a wonderful sunset. The jeep safari was great… we saw almost all the animals, lions and elephants included. The walking safari was the only pain point since it wasn't a real safari, but just a walk in a forest, even though we saw an elephant. A big thank to our driver and guide Roger that was amazing. He helped us a lot, he was really patient, a really good driver and he made us happy since he succeed at finding lions and elephants. Roger for sure contributes to our great experience

had hesitations at first but super glad booked our safari adventure with them
5/5

Found out about Discover Africa while browsing the internet, at first was hesitant to go with them as their office is based in CapeTown and we are from the Philippines, we were thinking of the advantage of going with a local agency in terms of customer support and coordination. but a few exchanges of emails with Matthys who was assigned to us proved that communication was not a problem at all. Matthys was very patient with all our questions and designed a very good itenirary for us. We also had a problem with an Embassy for our E-Visas and despite this being not part of their deliverables to us, Discover Africa's team of Matthys, Megan and especially Alice took it upon themselves to really help us by contacting them on our behalf. The trip went smoothly and everything in the itenirary was delivered as described. Excellent customer service! Truly living up to their name, the way to discover Africa is thru Discover Africa!

Efficient and very friendly
5/5

Well before we came to Ugadan we already had a safari tour in Kenya and Tanzania , so the attractive part of Ugadan should be the chimpanzee and gorilla bwindi mountain tracking, we enjoyed our days here but the lunch box prepared by the lodge was terrible and not even fresh some food was overnight leftover , so please feedback to them because the client will have stomach upset after having those food , staffs are very helpful and polite all the accommodation arrangement was acceptable and the service of our tour guide was excellent .he was a great guide and experienced but only thing that wakes up too early for us every day and at 5.30 am and too tired after three weeks traveling the rest were perfect thanks

It could have been better
2/5

We didn't have the best experience with Kiliholidays Tours & Safari.

We booked a three-day-safari at Mikumi Park. The first day we couldn't access to the park. They told us "drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours from Dar es Salaam". It's totally false. It was 8 hours and a half. The driver drove at 45 km/hour and the arrival to the park was almost sunset. They saved the access to the park of the first day (which is included in the safari price). So we paid for something that we didn't enjoy.

Additionally, the car broke down several times. The first time it had refrigerator problems. It was solved and we continued. The second day, the car stop and it ran out the battery , we push the car in the middle of the safari :) . The third day we spent 8 hours and a half to Dar Es Salaam. There was a huge jam and the car spent all the battery.

So, we had to take OTHER CAR with a non-known driver, and 3 minutes later ALSO the new car ran out of gas. Really? The driver (who didn't speak english) left the car in the middle of the darkness and 30 minutes later he appeared again with a bottle with gas. We stay alone waiting for him without knowing what to do.

The only positive point was the safari driver, he was nice.
