Whatever I write here will not do our experience justice. From the moment we met our guide (Pilot), saw our first animals, smelt the intoxicating scent of the bush (a mixture of wild thyme and camphor), saw, each night and each morning, the glorious and vivid colours of the sunsets and sunrises, hearing the animals during the night, the animal encounters during the day (up close and personal) the amazing food, service and attention to detail - it was out of this world. If we had the money we would do it again. If you are reading this because you're not sure - hesitate no more. Do it! You wont regret it. We did a mobile safari for ten days (unfortunately, I can't mention the company who were phenomenal with every detail) from 28/7 - 6/08. We covered three sites, chobe park (savuti area), Khwai Private reserve then finishing in Moremi and we saw literally everything possible to see and our guide taught us to track. Our guide was clearly very respected by all the other guides we came into contact with, having 30yrs+ experience I'm not surprised. It was an absolute privilege not only to see these beautiful animals in their natural environment but also meeting the warm and welcoming Botswanans. Botswana offers everything. Now book that trip!

Very professional, responsive, detail-oriented, reliable, flexible good suggestions/recommendations
5/5

I recently visited South Africa with my husband and 2 kids (12 yrs and 9 yrs old) via trip booked with Compass Odyssey. I researched a lot of different itineraries with various tour operators but decided to go with them due to 5 star rating/reviews. From the time we decided to go with Compass Odyssey, they have provided us with immaculate service. Darren is very proactive and responsive and helped us come up with the best customized 11 day family-friendly itinerary that covered Cape Town, Kruger, Panoramic route(Blyde Canyon) and Jo’burg. Throughout the tour we had a great experience, visited very scenic areas and had a thrilling Safari experience. 5 days of Cape Town was amazing, beautiful and saw whales in Hermanus and did wine tasting in Cape Winelands area. It would suggest staying at both these places. Baobab ridge in Klaserie reserve is a great hidden gem and we got to see Big 5 on our game drives in 3 days. David who is the tracker/safari guide was amazing and made sure we saw lions in each drive. Compass odyssey packages are very competitive and reasonable and provides great value which includes private guide/vehicle at each destination. All our guides (Garth, Phillip
and Johan) were amazing, friendly, trustworthy and knowledgeable and made our whole experience memorable especially Garth, our guide in Cape Town. He is fantastic and engages even with kids to make it super fun. Darren would constantly check with guides on how we are doing which shows great customer service and care even after paying for the whole trip before arriving. We would highly recommend Darren and team if you are planning any trip to Africa!! Compass Odyssey is the best and hope to book another trip with them soon!!

The full experience has been amazing! I highly recommend

From day 1 until the end, the experience has been perfect!
Sander was very responsive and helped us tailor the perfect safari tour and adjusted the lodging to our preferences.

When we arrived , we met with Amos that picked us up at the hotel with the truck! He has not only been an excellent driver and guide, but he systematically made the extra mile to create a unique experience, suggesting special activities or providing good advices.

His experience shows, he knows everyone on the field and he is very respected. With his soft and humble approach, he managed efficiently any little hiccup during the journey and always succeeded in securing special treatments for us (boat tours, gorilla trek, etc.) so we were always best placed or having exclusive experiences. He was super pro and very friendly. We all ended up with a new friend in Uganda!

We will definitely recommend Grassrootz to anyone wanting a unique experience in Uganda !

Well organized
5/5

We lived with Crater Explorer Tours and Safaris the most magical experience of our lives.
Everything was well organized, sleeping in the tents in the camps in the middle of the animals was incredible, the guide was great and the chef prepared very good dishes for us.
We saw a lot of animals in 3 days, much more than we could have imagined.
I recommend 100%, very good value for money!

Super accommodating and makes sure everyone is having a great time

Our experience with GoTouchDown has been great! We're the type of travellers who don't typically work with multi-day tour operators just because we prefer to explore on our own with a flexible schedule, but when we decided on South Africa as our "big trip", GoTouchDown definitely helped made it a huge success. We didn't know much about South Africa, but from reading online travel guides about the country, we knew we needed local experts to ensure we had a safe and memorable trip. The ground staff in the US were professional and had helped us a lot in providing the necessary documentations when we had to apply for visas to enter South Africa. Our local tour guide, Tabo, was with our small group of six 24/7...from Day 1 of when we started our trip in Johannesburg to Day 7 for when we depart from Hoedspruit back to Johannesburg, he made sure everything was good in our group, and tried to do as much as possible if we had any issues. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and professional, and a great personality that made the long drives a very enjoyable one! The rangers that we had at Songimvelo Game Reserve - Tandi, and at Tshukudu Game Reserve - Tyler, were both super knowledgeable and entertaining, and they were going the extra mile to make sure our group's wishes of seeing certain animals was fulfilled. Hands down, I would say the lodging at Humala was one of the most comfortable and luxurious "glamping" experience, and would definitely love to stay there again to unplug and be with nature.
Possibly because of all the things that happened in the last 2 years with the pandemic, the changes that was made to our initial booking (which was back in 2020) could have been communicated better and could have given the travellers more choice on what we wanted to do with the upgrade vs original itinerary. Sometimes the ground staff in the US was a bit hard to get to when we had questions in regards to visas and getting some help on documentations. I would say the tour may be a little bit expensive for travellers who don't want to splurge. Otherwise, if you want to know that you'll be well taken care of, don't want to worry about planning for the next day's activity and just have a great time, we would definitely recommend GoTouchDown.

Very successful safari
5/5

Excellent stay in Kenya. The safari which lasted 7 days was very well organized. We did 4 parks, as planned in the schedule:
-Masai Mara
- Nakuru (with Lake Naivasha)
- Amboseli
- Tsavo East
- Transfer to Nairobi airport

A wonderful discovery of animals in their natural habitat and the famous "Big Five" thanks to our guide Ben, who was super friendly, very knowledgeable and professional.
He is a very qualified person who was able to answer all our questions, both about the animals and about the life of the locals. It allowed us to observe all the Kenyan fauna from its most beautiful angle.

We slept in several lodges, which were all of high quality (reception, catering, accommodation, etc.), in particular Ziwa (in Nakuru Park) and the lodge in Tsavo East Park.

We highly recommend organizing your stay with Ben, who speaks French but also English.
Thanks again to Ben and his whole team!
