Professional and well organised.
5/5

I traveled to the Danakil Desert/Depression with a friend in February/March. We are both experienced travellers and agreed this was one of the best trips we had undertaken. I had it on my horizon for two years, but because of the security situation in Tigray, it had not been possible to go. I took a lot of soundings before the trip and Marco was very helpful in answering our queries via WhatsApp. Our guide, Kedemkachew Asegad (251 94 409 7799) was knowledgeable, well-organised and considerate of our needs - we were two women travelling. The Afar is not an easy place to travel and visitors to Ethiopia certainly could not do it without a guide. Lots of negotiations with the locals. Kede took care of all of that. I'd like to give a shout out to our cook Fentahun, who could make delicious meals out of whatever was available. Bekele and Wondem, the drivers, were helpful and professional. Seyed, who provided security, made us all feel very safe. Some of the highlights of the trip were the Dallol hydrothermal system, the salt mountains and Gaete Ale, the active volcano. Just be warned that this is not an easy trip - we slept under canvas one night and in the open air two nights. There is no accommodation to speak of, bathrooms etc. And temperatures reach 43 degrees centigrade. Worth the discomfort though. Many thanks to Marco and the team!

Wonderful safari with Dennis
5/5

Wonderful safari with Dennis. Prompt, professional pickup/dropoff, truly amazing safaris in Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara (seeing a cheetah, a few ostriches, a dozen lions including a multi-lion hunt, twenty rhinos, and uncountable numbers of elephants, flamingos, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, zebras, varieties of antelopes, ...). I booked solo but met some great people who joined the safari; note they may slightly shift the itinerary so you are together with others (e.g. move Lake Nakuru from the end to the beginning).

Some points of improvement for the future which don't detract much from the magic of the experience: the radio and phone calls are a bit loud as the guide coordinates with other guides to find the game for you, and the road is quite bumpy/muddy (exacerbated due to rainy season). Otherwise a nearly perfect experience!

Amazing safari experience
5/5

We had an amazing safari with Beacon Safaris!
Thank to Robert for quick responses and recommendations. And especially we would like to thank our guide Daniel for professional guiding and driving, he was always trying to show us the best in Masai mara.
Land cruiser 4*4 was comfortable enough and I'm sure it's much more better than van during rainy season in may. Although rain was only once at night.
Ashnil mara camp is perfect - the staff was polite and welcoming, location inside the park is very convenient for safari and food was very good.
The price for our safari was quite reasonable.
We are totally satisfied with the trip, we enjoyed our vacations in Masai mara very much!

Very kind and professional

It was a an amazing time! The tour driver was very nice and knowledgeable. We saw so many animals and he was always willing to wait for all participants to take as many pictures as they wanted.

The tour is long but worth it!

Everything was epic, I can't say more..
5/5

Pick up was on time, the driver ( Antony ) was so professional. Him together with one of the company executive made sure we had an epic moment. We saw tones of different animal's. Most big fives. Then the sweet moment for safaris when it's rain season came, we got stuck inside masai mara. This came with mixed feelings, fun plus anxiety....we really enjoyed..

Professional and fun tour to Mount Kenya!
5/5

I enjoyed my tour to mount Kenya very much (5 days, 4 nights). ORganisation beforehand was good, communication on whatsapp made it very easy to plan and ask any question. The guide (Juma) was very friendly and experienced, I felt safe. The cook (Doug) and porter (Kevin) were super friendly and helpful too. The food was also great, and there was plenty. Everything was taken care of and I made it to the top, so what more could I wish for? Recommend :).

Almost made it to Excellent!
4/5

It truly was a trip of a lifetime! The people we met, the animals we saw, the scenery...all just amazing! Our drivers and guides were wonderful, especially James who went above and beyond to make sure we got to see and do as much as possible and was so informative as well. The staff at all of the accommodation sites were welcoming and delightful to be around. The food was very good and we were never hungry!! We stayed at 5 different Go Touch Down properties and 4 of them were lovely. We would have been happy staying at any of them the whole time! However, the Belle Maroc was not up to the standards of the other properties. Our sliding glass door to our balcony did not close properly so there was no way to lock it. We had no hot water in the shower the first day. There was what looked like black mold in the shower. There was no hair dryer in the room but I was able to get one from the front desk. And speaking of the front desk, everyone working there was extremely nice but apparently filling several different positions at the hotel, ie desk clerk, waitress, barista

I was glad that we did not end our trip there as I would have left with a sour feeling about Cape Town. Aside from this, it was one of the best trips we've ever taken and have told everyone who would listen that they really should put South Africa on their bucket list!
