Operator cancelled trip one day before departure date!
I rested with my family on Zanzibar and we decided to go on a four-day safari in Tanzania.
Through the www.safaribookings.com I found several companies that do safaris in the Tarangire / Ngorongoro / Serengeti.
I made a request, more firms answered me.
Among them was the company Twinkle Star Tours and Safaris.
They gave me the best price and a perfect program, we agreed everything to the smallest detail.
To save money, I decided to buy tickets by local airlines from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro myself.
When I bought the tickets, agreed with Twinkle Star on the dates and times of transfer, right on the day before of our departure from Zanzibar, Twinkle Star said that he could not conduct a safari, but his acquaintance from the company Inno African Safari would hold it.
He gave me the contact of this other company and no longer answered my questions in the WatsApp.
I contacted this new company and he set me the price exactly twice as high as we agreed with Twinkle Star.
And this is the day before the start of the safari!
It was good that I had contacts and agreements with other companies and we quickly agreed on a safari with another company.
I warn all people on the www.safaribookings.com, do not mess with the company Twinkle Star Tours and Safaris.

Lion King Adventures delivers on a memorable and successful lifetime experience
We (a group of 4 - 2 x couples) did a Mt. Kilimanjaro (6-day Machame route) and Safari (4-day) package with Lion King Adventures.
The communication with Lion King Adventures throughout our time with them was reasonably prompt and it felt like they were always happy to help us as best they could. During the initial stages of booking and tailoring the package to suit us, there were only slight miscommunications which were ultimately settled with no discontent. They kindly organised a local coffee farm tour at the tail end of our stay.
Our drivers throughout our time in Tanzania were all very nice and safely got us to and from our locations.
We began our time in Tanzania with the 6-day Machame route of Mount Kilimanjaro. Personally, this was the highlight of my trip. Our head guide, Saladin, with his team (special mentions to Kim, Mos, Lazaro, John, Rama, Alan) were exceptional in making sure we were comfortable throughout and safely arriving to camp every day. Thanks to Saladin and his amazing team, we made it to Stella Point and if it weren't for weather and time constraints, I am certain that we would have made it to Uhuru Peak as well - Asante sana. The snacks to keep us fueled throughout the day were thoughtful and the hot meals at the end of every day were so good. We were also fortunate to have our own toilet which was a lovely luxury. I will always remember my Mount Kilimanjaro experience fondly.
We got to enjoy our 4-day safari to the fullest after conquering Kilimanjaro. We went to Tarangire National Park (NP), Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Lake Manyara NP. It was about mid-June when we started our safari and we had already missed most of the migration but were lucky enough to see the big 5 (lion, buffalo, rhino, elephant, leopard) and some babies/cubs as well (baby hippo, baby elephant, baby impala, cheetah cub, lion cub). Our safari guide and driver, Gilbert, was very informative throughout the 4-days, pointing out various forms of wildlife and fauna. He did a wonderful job making sure we got to see all big 5 and more - Asante! The accommodation organised for us between each of these safari locations was very comfortable (Eileen's Trees Inn and Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp) and the food was delicious.
Anna and James of Lion King Adventures came to visit us between Kilimanjaro and our safari. This was a very nice gesture and they were very lovely. We all had a great time and would gladly recommend anyone else considering a Kilimanjaro + Safari package to go with Lion King Adventures.

African authentic Safari Tour
Hallo, we haved booked a 9 days Tour in the southern of Tanzania, Ruaha, MIkumi, Udzungwa and Selous. The Organation was nearly perfect. We was 2 Persons , we had one Guide und for some days one cook. The overnite standings was easely but near the african poeple, the breakfast, lunch and dinner was already perfect. We didn't know what was coming , so it was always, every day a surprise to came in contact with the very friendly poeple. You must know, for us it was very intresting, when you want a luxery tour, you must pay much more and you see only the half of the living Africa. The tour was also strenght, because every day on the road and in the parks, when we had known this, so we had booked 3 days more, for example in the future: 2 overnite in the Udzungwa Mountains (go relexed trekking or overnite also in the mountain in tent with an ranger) 3 overnites in Ruaha ( walking safari, Night safari and hole day safari) in the Mikumi 2 overnite (it will be enough for hole day safari) and in the selous 3 overnites (river safari, also night safari , walking safari and relexing in the wilderness camp, its perfect--- big tent like nomads in the nature and wonderful manager and staff) -------Everytime ever very friendly Guide ( Fikirih)and cook all perfect and it was the 5 th Tour that we stayed in Africa ( two times now in Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe).Best regards to the Team of Grassroots Safari( the right name for this Organisation !!!!! P.S.: You have wishes, no Problem, ask Micky the Manager it will be organized.
Jederzeit wieder !!!

Great value for short budget safari; 4 days, 3 nights
I thought the communication with Margaret was initially a big reason for me wanting to use Uhuru. She was great.
The price was very reasonable for 4 days, 3 nights- something important for backpackers looking for a once in a lifetime experience.
The guide was very knowledgeable, and conducted himself in the most professional manner and was very friendly. I'd highly recommend asking for a safari with Isador.
Overall, this package was a good fit for me. It was in my price range, there was good communication about how to pay, what was included and any questions before hand. The safari itself was great, but for budget, expect to do outdoor camping (which actually I recommend if you'd like the opportunity to possibly see wild animals outside of a car). I felt I got to see the big things in a short amount of time. Tarengire, Serengeti and Ngorogoro are where you'll get to see the big 5 and more.
Uhuru is a trusted, reliable tour operator.

The best way to see Uganda!
We did the 11-Day Wildlife Safari (inc. Gorilla and Chimp Trekking) and this all inclusive trip was simply awesome!
From the efficient (email response within hours), friendly (from emails between Hedmond and Elias to Karim, our conservation guide / driver and by the end of the trip, a great friend) and simply wonderful accommodation throughout our trip, I would recommend Home to Africa to show you the best of Uganda. Hands down.
Our itinerary took us to
- Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: we spotted around 8 rhinos, including a baby. Robert our tracker was knowledgeable and passionate. We had a delicious lunch there too.
- Murchison Falls NP: we saw a leopard, elephants, giraffe, lions, buffalo, the rare shoebill (!), hippos, crocodiles and some amazing birds too. Going on Game Drives with Karim was wonderful. Murchison Falls was probably our fave Park - variety (jungle, river and Savannah). Also did the river cruise which was great too.
- Kibale Forest National Park: we tracked chimps here. Our ranger Aisha was awesome - we Watched around 8 chimps that were in a tree (a couple of babies too). Plus followed another chimp on foot - phew.
- Queen Elizabeth NP: another Game Drive where we saw lions hunting (well, trying to hunt a kob), elephants, bush bucks, buffaloes and a river cruise along Kazinga Channel (amazing birds, including the Fish Eagle, hippos and a herd of elephants playing on the river bank). Our accommodation was AMAZING!
- Bwindi NP: the gorillas. The. Gorillas. We were one of the lucky ones - it only took us 45 mins to get to the gorillas. This experience was simply amazing.
- Lake Bunyonyi: great spot to chill out, but also watch birds (Weaver birds to the Ugandan national bird, the Crested Crane). The lake is stunning (and safe the swim!).
- Lake Mburo NP: the new animal we saw were zebra. Including a poor Impala that was mourning the death of its baby.
Our accommodation:
We booked our trip around 3 months before. Between building / personalising our itinerary, then confirming, then organising payment it was around 2 weeks.
As you would expect, some of our first options for accommodation were booked, but Home to Africa found some AMAZING replacements. The worst of the accommodation was the first night in Entebbe (our first option was booked out, and Home to Africa did give us an option to change but we decided to stick with their recommendation). Also, we were only in Entebbe for 1 night (maybe 15 hours max) in the scheme of things, really nothing major. Every other accommodation was perfect. Our accommodation ranged from lodges and ‘tented’ rooms with all rooms having their own bathrooms with hot showers too.
The Home to Africa team:
- Hedmond and Elias communicated clearly, responded to emails fast (within hours - Australia time) and provided some great tips to help with packing too.
- Karim, our amazing guide. He is the best guide and amazing driver. He greeted us at Entebbe Airport, and at the end dropped us off at our Entebbe accommodation we booked separately. Some of those roads he had to navigate - gosh! I never once felt unsafe. Karim is thoughtful, personable, knowledgeable, funny, connected and respected amongst the tourism community on the ground. It was wonderful seeing and experiencing Uganda through his eyes - the animals, the birds to daily farming life. Karim stayed in most of the same lodges as we did and we ate most meals together - whether debriefing on what we saw / experienced that day over dinner to briefing us on what to wear the next day (eg. The gorilla trek is tomorrow, wear this and that). Thank YOU Karim. You really made our holiday the best we have ever had!
What are you waiting for!? If you’re planning a trip to Uganda, book it through Home to Africa. You won’t regret it!

Amazing Trip
We had an amazing trip with Grassroots Safari. We booked a 6 days trip Mikumi, Ruaha, Udzungwa. Fikiri was our guide. He is an expert in Wildlife and we learnt a lof from him. He could reply to all of our questions regarding the wildlife, trees, flowers,... He is very respectful of the animals and nature. We had the opportunity to see lions, elephants, hippo, croco, leopard,... We felt very well with him and had a lot of fun. The cooker Mashaka was very cool and we had a great meal every day. Bennett was our guide in Udzungwa area. He is very knowledgeable about the forest and villages in the region. All of the organization of the trip was perfect. I strongly recommend Grassroots Safari. Thank you for everything guys. We will never forget our first safari in Africa.

amazig day hike on mount longonot
My brother and I book our first tour to Masai Mara with Genesis of Adventure (I was in touch with Jonathan) and everything was well organised and we really liked our tour guide Eduard that we decided to book a day hike to Mount Longonot. Everything was organised as the fist time and Eric came to pick us up at the hotel at 7am. The drive from Nairobi to Mount Longonot was around 1 hour and 45 minutes. Once we arrived at the national park we paid our entrance fee and we were asked if we want to take a ranger with us because there are wild animals but we decided to hike alone. Mount Longonot is an inactive Vulcano and it is around 3 km from the park entrance up to the crater. Some parts a kinda steep but not too difficult. Once you reach the crater you can walk around the whole crater for 7 km. Our advice to walk on the crater is to take the hike clockwise, at least we found it easier and we found a lot of people struggling to hike up the steep way with the crushed rocks on it. We also advice to wear hiking shoes with a robust sole and to bring some healthy snacks and water to stay hydrated. The highest point of the Vulcan Crater is 2.780m and we took our break there. We just weren't lucky with the view because the peak of the mountain was in a cloud. Once we reached the point where we started our crater hike we found a lot of young people and kids and they had a school excursion, everybody was very friendly and so lovely that we decide to hike the way down with some school kids. The whole tour took us 5 hours but we really walked slowly and we stopped many times to enjoy the view and listening to the nature.
We can only recommend this hiking tour to everybody who love to hike and the nature. Thank you Genesis of Adventure to make our stay so great in Kenya
