Unforgettable days on our camping safari in Botswana with many highlights and beautiful memories
5/5

In April 2023 my wife and I were finaly able to go on the 11-day safari with Walking Stick Travel & Tours that we had already booked in 2019. Due to Covid 19, earlier travel had not been possible. Philimon had kindly held our booking until then. It is especially worth mentioning that there was no price increase in the following 3 years. Our special thanks for this!
Our journey now took us through the parks Moremi, Khwai, Savuti and Chobe. We were accompanied by a team of 3: Wago as guide and driver, Josiah as cook and KB for setting up tents and other helps. Everything was well organised and the team made our stay very pleasant with a lot of enthusiasm and helpfulness. The meals were varied and very delicious. The game drives were very informative and interesting. We profited greatly from the knowledge that Wago always knew in advance what, for example, leopards or lions were planning to do next. Once we were able to follow a leopard on its hunt for about 1 1/2 hours. All the other drivers had lost the hunt long ago. In the end, however, the hunt was unsuccessful.
On the game drives we saw nearly all the animals of Botswana. In Khwai there were the most leopards to be seen, even in the dark, because night drives are allowed there. We were able to watch a family of lions feeding on a prey for a long time.
The tents were very comfortable with shower and toilet in a separate area at the back of the tent. Hot water for our sink and shower was brought to us at any time of the day on request. It was very exciting at first and great to listen to the sounds of the night. Not seldom hyenas and jackals sneaked around our tent, sometimes very noisily.

A nice end to the day was a G&T after each afternoon game drive, followed by dinner. Around the campfire we discussed the day's events and plans for the next day.
This was now our third stay in Botswana. Once again it was a very successful stay with many exciting and adventurous moments. We can really recommend Walking Stick Travel &Tours.

SafariLink SA is an efficient, value for money tour operator with friendly and helpful staff
5/5

Dear SafariLink SA Staff

I had the privileged to make use of your services on Apr 17 Jhb Int Airport - Hoedspruit and again on Apr 21 Hoedspruit - Jhb Int Airport as I gift from friends to be able to visit them in Hoedspruit.

Both occasions I had an enjoyable trip with friendly, experienced drivers. What I appreciated on my trip to Hoedspruit from Jhb Int Airport was the efficient and friendly lady (Adele, I think?) receiving us at the bus terminal as it was my first time using the shuttle and there were overseas tourists travelling with us too. It was a much appreciated personal touch. Thank you!

Blessing, the driver on the 17th, was indeed a blessing - getting us to Hoedspruit in great time and with two comfort stops. Blessing has great people skills and an even better sense of humor which I really enjoyed on a trip that could have been very monotamous. He stopped at the Blyderiver Canon and allowed us to take some pictures and gave us interesting information, which even I as a South African, enjoyed in a part of the country I don't know so well.
He is also a very skilled driver maneuvering around big potholes with ease and keeping to the rules of the road.

My return trip on Apr 21 was as enjoyable with Stanley. There was a young mother on the trip with a baby and her son and Stanley took great care of getting them comfortable for the trip. He too is a good driver and kept to the rules of the road.
Initially my name and a fellow passenger were not listed on the return trip with him, but our trips was scheduled for the time he arrived. He took it upon himself to check with your office and sort it out for us. That gesture was much appreciated!

Kindly pass on my appreciation to all staff involved with the two trips (Adele? at Jhb Int Airport, Olivia sending trip confirmations via Whatsapp, the drivers Blessing and Stanley as well as Odette)

Both trips were enjoyable and I will recommend your services as well as use it in future should the opportunity to do so again arise.

Wonderful and Courteous
5/5

We loved Cuckoo Safaris and would recommend to anyone. They are very easy to organize your personal itinerary, and respond quickly to inquiries. We added a game drive in the afternoon and it fit quite nicely. The guest house was amazing as well. Overall a great and affordable option for touring the falls!

A weekend I will never forget!
5/5

Absolutely fantastic few days in the Maasai Mara. Linsel from Safari Update Travels was excellent in finding me a trip that was within my budget but met (and exceeded) all my expectations! My guide was friendly and knowledgeable and was very good at finding animals. We saw everything including elephants, leopards, giraffes, hippos, ostriches and even a cheetah family. The 4x4 was also a good choice and I would recommend choosing this option over the van as it really makes a difference (both in terms of comfort and in terms of how far off the beaten track you can go). The campsite (Lenchada tourist camp) was rustic but perfect for what I was looking for - felt very much at one with nature! Would highly recommend Safari Update Travels who were super helpful throughout and provided me a really fantastic experience.

6-day camping group safari - amazing adventure
5/5

The tour we booked consisted of 1 day at Tarangire, 1 day at Lake Manyara, 3 days at Serengeti and 1 day at Ngorongoro. The first two nights we slept in a budget lodge with private bathrooms and the other 3 nights we were camping in Serengeti and Ngorong, where the camping sights also offered bathrooms and dining areas.

The booking process itself was very easy with Bartho. We arranged everything via Email or Whatsapp and he always answered quickly.

We were two friends from Austria and loved our Safari group of four more people at our age around 25-30.
Moreover our safari guide Felix was the best guide we could have imagined. He was not only a very good driver, could spot so many different animals, even if they were very far away or very tiny, but he also gave us so much information about the animals and also what life in Tansania and the culture there is like.
We had our own cook who really did his best by serving us various different dishes three times a day.
Our safari group inkluding our guide became friends quickly and so we helped each other whenever is was necessary and also spent the evenings together and had often great fun.

For us the 6-day Safari was perfect with the four different national parks because we could see different animals in each of them.
Also the driving distance to Serengeti (which was our favorite) is quite far, so 6 days made the most sense to us.

The camping Safari is definitely an adventure with the bumpy roads, big animals and also sleeping in tents in the national parks.
Sometimes we could even hear animals in or close to the camping sights, but all in all we felt safe at any time.

Summing all of this up, we can totally recommend this camping safari, if you're up for an adventurous way of exploring the wilderness of Tansania

An incredible 8-day Tanzanian Safari
5/5

From the moment of first email contact with Voice in the front office to airport drop off, Easy Travel was just that. Our guide Ombeni picked us up at the airport and made it his mission to see that we had the best safari experience possible. We visited several parks including Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire. We saw lions, elephant, black rhino, leopards, cheetah and so much more. We were lucky enough to not only see the great migration, but to spend over two hours driving through it. Utterly amazing. Ombeni, our guide made sure that we enjoyed the quieter parts of the drives, pointing out birds, plants life, and teaching us about the many cultures of Tanzania. The comfort plus-style accommodations at each of the park lodges were beautiful and a good value for the cost. If you have any interest in going, do it, you will be amazed.

Peafowl - Very Professional & Attentive to Clients
5/5

The booking process with Peafowl is very smooth. Damaris was quick to respond with options and what I particularly liked was the engagement that gave me details of each respective camp/lodge. This helped me make an informed decision on what would be best for my family. 5 stars apply here!

The lodge that we stayed in - Sarova Mara - turned out to be just perfect for our safari and went beyond our expectations. The rooms were very clean and the facilities are in good shape despite their age. Food is fresh, plenty and delicious - they have the best options to cater for all diverse cultures and preferences. Staff are warm & friendly.

The Mara is vast and intimidating. yet when one has an experienced guide, it does not become a cause for concern but instead turns out to be a joy. Every day was pleasant and full of wonderful surprises which was partly due to the diligence of our driver-guide. Our tour guide and driver for the trip - John - was really good and very well informed. He picked us up on time on the first day and was very accommodating of our reasonable requests during the trip - stops for pictures, locations to go to, knowledgeable feedback about the wildlife, etc.

We are keen to use Peafowl for our next tour plans, locally or abroad.

Great
5/5

We had an outstanding trip to South Africa, and we could not have done this without Michelle's great organization of our trip. From the game drives to the wine tours around Cape Town, the trip was an absolute blast.
