Exceptional Photographic Tour of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park!
5/5

When Shaheen recommended that the Kgalagadi was a great place for an amateur wildlife photographer, I leapt at the chance to arrange a game drive through Legend Safaris. The service I got on this 4 night/5 day tour of the park was truly exceptional! Arun, the head guide at Legend Safaris, picked me up from Upington in the early hours of the first morning, and we drove to the park to begin our game drive on the same day. Over the following days, Arun put in some seriously hard work with his driving to make sure we covered the vast distances of the Kgalagadi effectively, in order to maximise our game viewing opportunities. At times, the going was tough - in particular, on our third day, we hadn't had a single exceptional sighting the whole day. We had driven from Twee Rivieren at the very southern tip of the park, all the way up to Marie Se Drai without so much as an ear poking out of the bush. We had covered exactly 294 kilometres, and still Arun maintained his professionalism and drive to get me an exceptional shot. And then, we were rewarded with a pair of lions - a beautiful male in the prime of his life, and the lioness he was paired with - literally two metres away from our vehicle, basking on the sandy road in the Kgalagadi sun. We stayed with that pair for nearly 3 hours after that, all the while Arun maneauvering the car with the changing light and as a courtesy to other visitors to allow them an opportunity to view the lions as well. My 5 days in the park were filled with such remarkable stories and the cherry on top was the bonus day Shaheen had booked for me in Nossob camp, free of charge, to attempt some star photography. The service I received through Legend Safaris was far and beyond what I expected, and I am extremely grateful to both Shaheen, the owner, and Arun, the head guide, for making my stay so very memorable and for imprinting the Kgalagadi's wonders on me in such a special way. I would heartily recommend the company to anyone considering a trip to South Africa for game viewing, as their expertise and knowledge of the bush, along with their hospitality, is sure to make anyone's experiences extremely enjoyable.

Took advance payment of $480 for transport, cancelled at last minute and not refunding the moneys.
1/5

I am convinced that this tour operator is a scamster. They took moneys in advance from us in March/July for a trip planned for August 2018 for a group of 10. At the last minute, they left us in the lurch and cancelled our bookings. They said that they will refund our moneys $480 within 30 days. Then told us that they have already wired it. But no wire came and the Company is no longer responding to our mails/calls. We have lodged complaints with Tourism Authorities, SA Police, etc.

Amazing photographic tour of Kruger!
5/5

The safari that I booked through Legend Safaris was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. For months before my arrival date in Johannesburg, Shaheen communicated with me very frequently, giving me a clear overview of what to expect and what the daily itineraries were. He even helped me secure a visa by issuing me official invitation letters, which was a big help. While on the actual safari, Legend Safaris head guide Arun showed me an excellent time! I had communicated to Shaheen before the trip that as a keen amateur wildlife photographer, I have some particular requirements while on a game drive, and Arun, being a qualified photographer himself, was able to accommodate these perfectly. Whether this was positioning the car in a way that suited the angle of the shot I had in mind, changing route direction depending on the position of the sun to get optimal lighting, or even following leads from other guides on good sightings, Arun worked very hard to ensure that my game viewing experience was excellent. At times, he drove over 200 kilometres in a day, just to get me the opportunity to view the maximum amount of game. Overall, the service I received from Legend Safaris was absolutely exceptional, and I would heartily recommend them to any travellers, whether it's your first time in the bush, or you're a game drive veteran. I will certainly be booking with them in the future and will hope to do many more game drives in the years to come. Thank you both for a great time!

Bucket List Trip
5/5

I have dreamed of going on an African Safari for most of my life. Fortunately, I was able to travel to Kenya and Zanzibar this Spring with my beautiful daughter. We selected Odyssey Safaris for our adventure and are happy we did. Our travel coordinator Beatrice covered all the details and kept us well informed. Our guides Jackson and Stephen were terrific. Whether it was in Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha or the Masai Mara Game Reserve, they knew exactly the right locations to catch sight of the magnificent wildlife. I am thrilled to say we saw all of The Big Five...elephants, rhinos, cape buffalo, lions and leopards among so many others. Our accommodations were all first rate, my favorite being the Ashnil Tented Camp. Our "room" looked like something from a Hollywood movie! The added touch of a welcoming hot water bottle on the bed after a long day was just splendid. The buffet meals at all the hotels were plentiful and delicious (though I did not care so much for the two or three boxed lunches). Staff were friendly and accommodating. Our side trips to a Masai Village (loved the singing, dancing and handcrafted bead jewelry) and hiking on Crescent Island (up close and personal with giraffe, zebra and other animals) were also highlights. We extended our trip for a three day visit to the beautiful Tanzanian Island of Zanzibar where we visited the UNESCO World Heritage site, Stonetown, the birthplace of Queen's Freddy Mercury and an incredible organic spice farm. Our hotel, the Blue Bay Beach Resort served a delicious fresh fish dinner on the beach by the Indian Ocean. Just terrific. Overall, this was a trip of a lifetime and I highly recommend Odyssey Safaris.

A tour to be remembered!!!
5/5

It was our first time in Africa and therefore we were a bit nervous at the beginning not knowing how things are organized there. John already gave his very best before our arrival to ease our tension answering lots and lots of mails and providing us with all the necessary information. This gave us a good feeling.
As soon as we arrived in Nairobi everything went absolutely smoothly. John welcomed us personally and took care of everything. From then onwards our driver Kennedy took over and showed us the beauty of Kenyan wildlife! We were not only able to see the Big Five, but also witness hunting lions and a leopard. It was absolutely amazing and Kennedy was eager not to miss a single moment. Thanks very much for that!!
Coming back to Nairobi we were once again picked up by John who gave his very best to squeeze in Carnivore Restaurant in order to make our flight back home on time.
Thanks very much for this wonderful holiday - it really is a tour to be remembered!!

Memorable
5/5

I recently travelled with Gilmag Safaris as a solo traveller. I visited Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. My experience with Gilmag exceeded my expectations. I was impressed by the way my inquiries were handled; timely and on point. My guide, Musa was the best. He made sure my safari was the most memorable. I can confidently recommend this company to any safari enthusiast. I will be back again. Asante sana for the lovely safari.
