3-Day Selous game reserve safari
5/5

This safari was the highlight of my holiday in Tanzania/Zanzibar. The whole experience was amazing and we got to see a lot of wild animals, beautiful scenery and stunning sunsets. Our guide Lenard was easy-going and knowledgeable. We got to see more animals then I had expected and he took us really close to them. Accommodation was nicer then expected and had a cosy feeling of camping. Only thing I regret was not making our safari a bit longer, we picked the 3 day/2 nights in Selous game reserve.

Memories for a life time - Thank you
5/5

I never write reviews, caught up in life, family, work, friends... but this time I thought I would because our trip to South Africa was extraordinary thanks to African Welcome Safaris and Kathi's perfect planning and availability.
African Welcome Safaris was recommended by friends and we are recommending their services too.
We travelled as a family, four adults all together (parents and 2 "kids" 20-25).
We were interested in different aspects of the country, the history, the people, the wines, discovering the landscape, the nature... so based in this mosaic request, Kathi prepared an itinerary that allowed each of us to discover what we were looking for.
One of the highlights of our trip was taking the Rovos train from the Cap to Pretoria. I can only recommend this unique experience.
We favoured boutique hotels and two that stood out were the Dock house hotel located close to the waterfront in the Cap and the Parkwood hotel in Johannesburg. The trips to Table mountain and to the Cap of good hope allowed us to be in the middle of nature and a nice break from the city.We also very much enjoyed high tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel.
Robben Island is a must of course. Taking the time to visit the Apartheid museum and the prison in Johannesburg where the Supreme Court was built is a heavy load for an afternoon but essential to understand some of the aspect of South African history and culture. Of course, taking in the history of South Africa over the past centuries is most helpful in order to understand (if possible) the 20th century and the present. One last recommendation: Shumbalala Lodge for a safari in the Thornybush Private Reserve - a fantastic and most welcoming place. Thank you Kathi and the team of African Welcome Safaris for memories that will last a life time.

EA is Just superb; a wonderful mix of the personal and the professional.
5/5

Again, the EA team has delivered to us a series of unique experiences in East Africa - such that it already has us looking to go back again via Jono, Danica and the EA team. This recent trip certainly matched our wonderful first EA experience of 2012!

The depth of personal knowledge at EA, the wonderfully engaging approach and the series of regular 'check ins' ensured we were well prepared for our month long visit. The trip itself, across three countries and four distant and diverse locations absolutely exceeded our expectations. The shared understanding of what we wanted out of this trip combined with their understanding of us as a couple laid a great platform from which we saw that EA knowledge and experience used to best effect.

This second wonderful trip with EA to southern Africa will see us return there in a couple of years and we'll just head straight back to Encompass Africa!

Most reliable driver on Zanzibar with great network of captains, etc
5/5

Bakari is by far the most reliable driver on Zanzibar we came across during our two week stay on the island. He communicates very reliably, thinks ahead in case of traffic jams / road blocks etc and has a great network of captains, etc for tours. We did more than 5 trips with Bakari and went on a Dolphin Safari in Kimurimuri which was by far our most memorable experience on the island. We would always recommend Bakari again.

Very reliable and profesional.
5/5

We booked a safari to Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. The communication was very good, we got all the details we asked for. The accommodation was in a nice quiet lodge with a swimming pool just perfect for late afternoon after a long game drive. The driver/guide was very helpful, he did his best to show us the most interesting places and animals.
In total, it was a lovely experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely exceeded my expectations by an order of magnitude!
5/5

From start to finish this was an outstanding safari. Accommodations in the parks arranged by eTrip Africa were excellent, especially considering all were off the power grid. Our guides, David & Atilla were absolutely outstanding, exceptional subject matter experts, passionate about their nation, its parks, and the wildlife within, and just great guys to hang out with for 10 days. This was truly a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ experience made all the better by eTrip’s attention to detail and flawless execution.

Priceless, once in a lifetime experience
5/5

We had an itinerary tailored to our needs and to the time of year we were travelling (9-21 December 2018). Leadwood Expeditions did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job in ensuring our experience was full of awesome memories and exciting wildlife sightings. We travelled through Tanzania and Kenya over 10 nights and honestly, could not recommend this company highly enough. Our first driver and guide, Robby, was the most enthusiastic, genuine and dedicated person - better than anything we could have ever imagined. Robby worked incredibly hard to ensure we got the most out of Tanzania and really gave us star treatment the whole way. Highlights include a very up close experience with almost all of the big five! Plus a very special night in the Serengeti, with staff from ThornTree Camp singing to us to send us off on our last night. It was truly something special and something I will never forget, well worth the cost! THANK YOU LEADWOOD EXPEDITIONS FOR ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCES OF OUR LIVES!

Chobe National Park, elephants EVERYWHERE!
Overall rating
5/5

I took a day trip to Chobe National Park as part of a vacation to Victoria Falls. My only regret is that I only had time to spend one day in this AMAZING park. Timing is everything and we were blessed with literally hundreds of elephants. From the river, we spent time with several families as they took turns rolling in the mud (to put on their "sunscreen"). We also saw several pairs of young male elephants trying to show off in the water. There were also several water buffalo, impalas, hippos, and birds. We had a delicious lunch and then went on a land game drive to the same area of the river. By early afternoon literally hundreds of elephants had arrived at the river. We had so many up close views of elephants and giraffes it was spell binding. We also saw impalas, gazelle deer, and some very busy dung beetles. Although we didn't see a huge variety of animals, it was more than made up for in the sheer volume. I can only imagine what life lives deeper in the park. Kudos to Botswana for their action against poachers and it's ability to maintain a high density of life! I would definitely travel to Botswana again, only I would stay for several days.

About: Kenya
Amboseli safari with Beacon Safaris - fantastic!!!
Overall rating
5/5

What a great time! From the well written communications for booking the trip via email with Robert, thru easy online payment to a great driver in Kevin, we had a great time going on a three day safari in Amboseli National Park in Kenya, all organized through Beacon Safaris. They arranged to have the driver pick us up from our golf course hotel west of Nairobi and took us straight to the safari camp called Kibo Safari Camp, a luxurious tented camp that I highly recommend. The safari itself was excellent with an abundance of animals. Kevin definitely knew where to look and he is very knowledgeable about them. Overall, it was a great trip and I highly recommend Beacon Safaris.
