Serengeti adventure with Asili Explorer - lived up to all our expectations!
5/5

Going to Tanzania to see the wildebeest migration was a life long dream for me! So after making the decision to go the next step was to select a tour operator. There were 3 factors - price, quality of service and having a reliable tour operator to take care of all logistics once we were in the country. Well, I can honestly say that Joe and his company Asili Explorer ticked all the boxes. Joe was able to offer a variety of packages that worked with our budget, he was super flexible when it came to planning our dates and the sites we wanted to see. Service was brilliant making our whole holiday really easy and stress-free. The accommodation selected was wonderful - giving us a truly African experience. The best was placed we stayed in was in the Serengeti - the tented accommodation was not what we expected - it was better! Waking up in the middle of the bush was a magical experience! And finally our guide, Efatha - was a wealth of knowledge, particularly on birds and willing to answer our thousands of questions! Thank you Joe and Efatha - you made our experience a dream come true!

No value for money
2/5

The experience was not good. We did 4 days ( Maasai and Nakuru)
The driver was not kind. He didn't listen to our requests. First day we wanted to go for a game drive and he wanted to rest, we were waiting for him. we were always the first car returning to the hotel.
He have few information about the animals and landscape and everytime we did a question he answered with sarcasm ( sometimes he even don't answer)
Finally, we drive 7 hours to Nakuru to do 1 hour game drive on the first day and on he second day again only one hour. We arrived very early in nairobi just for nothing.
Definitely it was not a good experience

Grassrootz listened carefully to all our wishes and organized a wonderful trip to Western Uganda
5/5

Your trip to Uganda already starts with a good laughter when meeting director Sander van Zanten! He listens carefully and asks the right questions with a good sense of humor. As we wanted to start our trip in Rwanda, Sander offered several ideas what to do and where. We could add additional activities to the suggested programme easily. All you need to know about visa requirements, health certificates, you can ask him and you get the answer in due time.
We had a perfect match with our guide and chauffeur David Otto. Being a family travelling with three young adults (age between 18 and 21), David understands perfectly what the trip makes interesting and a pleasant journey for them. We enjoyed the splendid wildlife in Western Uganda thanks to Davids knowledge and enthousiasm for mother natures beautifull creations. Be prepared to raise early (5.30 am), you are rewarded with a unique experience. A big plus: we had good conversations about serious things in life as well. David is a perfect driver, small problems with our car were solved practically. Combining nature, adventure and a good grasp of culture is what you get! With Grassrootz you stay at community accommodations which we appreciated so much. We wanted to experience how ordinary Ugandans live in their villages and grow their crops in the fields. This expectation was 100 percent fulfilled.
Enjoying Kampala, music and city life was a good completion of our three week trip. Enjoy your day, every day! Grassrootz Uganda helps you make it possible.

Firstly very patient in planning, excellent and very knowledgeable guide who did everything to help
5/5

Accommodation chosen was terrific, advice on best options excellent, Ugandans are lovely and very friendly, the company was well organised and credible. Had an awesome experience in Queen Elizabeth, Kibale and Mburo. What would I do differently - with the same company. From what I hear probably include Murchison Falls. It was all excellent and most of all quality food and very safe. I am an older woman that travelled on my own and it was easy.

They made my once in a lifetime experience a once in a lifetime experience
5/5

On our trip 8 of us had a 4 day safari and 8 day Mt Kilimanjaro climb. Brenda was super helpful at very stage from planning until we boarded the plane home. We were treated as family friends with our trip customized to meet our wishes and needs. Emails and skype calls prior to the trip were half full in making sure we were prepared and also that our expectations were being met. The experience was beyond my expectations. The safari was incredible with knowledgeable drivers, great lunches, water packed for us every day. The hotel accommodations varied and were all wonderful. Brenda was able to get updates from Festo while we were on the mountain and she kept our family and friends updated on our progress. They were thankful for this because when we did not have cell service and no other way to let them know how we were doing.
I can't say enough positives about our experience and how thankful I am for their part in making this a trip I will never forget.

Footsteps of the Masai Trek
5/5

Excellent trek with Sam and his team, very well looked after, food delicious, tents very comfortable. We even had a shower rigged up in a couple of camps which was great after a hard days trekking. Sam was very knowledgeable about the areas we trekked in and was able to keep us well informed. I felt very safe being out in the bush with Sam and his team and would not hesitate to recommend him.

Top of my bucket list was to see the gorillas in the Congo. It was a dream come true and to make travelling easier we were introduced to Barak who helped us with our visas and get us across the borders with no trouble. He also took myself and my girlfriends to a local market to go shopping which i give him a lot of credit for too. He not only stayed sane, he managed to get us some bargains. We spent a few days with Barak and I found him to be kind, happy, funny and helpful, all with a constant smile which is so nice to be around. I recommend him to anyone travelling to this area!!
