Authentic African safari with a lack of organization
2/5

We've booked a "4-Day Kenya Lodge Safari". The first 3 Days in Masai Mara with the Mara sopa lodge for 2 nights and 1 Night in Lake Nakuru NP at the Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Unfortunately we did not get what we booked.
We get a tent camp as an alternative for the overbooked Mara sopa lodge. It wasn't the same standard! Mara Sopa Lodge is much more expensive and we get no money back.

On the 3rd day was a 3-hour game drive according to our booking confirmation. But we only get a 2-hour game drive. On the way to the lake nakuru we had lunch and the driver droped us off with the message, we have to wait for another driver. After 3 hours we were finally picked up!!!
But now it was toooo late for the afternoon game-drive at lake nakuru, because we arrived there around 7 pm.

During the whole stay was promised us according to booking confirmation free water to each meal.
At dinner in the camp/lodge there is no water include! To every dinner we had to pay for water!

When we told all these things to the tour organizer, they said that we should not make a mountain out of this and said, that´'s not their fault because of the free water. We should take water from the car to the hotel to drink this during dinner.

In summary, we can recommend this safari-tour in any case, but the tour operator would have to act somewhat more customer-friendly.
The animals and landscape are unique!

An adventure across Damaraland
5/5

I can't recommend Namibia Horse Safari Company highly enough. The ride was a breathtaking adventure across the remote and largely uninhabited Damaraland region of Namibia. The ride was perfectly coordinated so the back up vehicles were always waiting for us at lunch and the end of the day. The horses are incredible and the scenery is spectacular. The food is fantastic and it is quite incredible what the staff were able to produce with the limited facilities available to them. A must do ride!

5/5

Honestly speaking ive been working at Chiawa camp during the course of 2008-9,during that period i still feel as if i was there a fortnight, everything is excellent communication skills, standard equipments and excellent accommodation pristine environment and friendly people i mean staffs with excellent code of conduct and etiquette i felt as if iam the CEO due to the freedom to participate and take control of all activities and with a wide range of wildlife species an awe-inspiring spectacle that s worth it living than day dreaming,i feel like Adam and Eve who lost Eden when i was excluded or ejected from the Paradise do please ensure the Park maintains its Carrying capacities in terms of Safari lodges and Camps operating and reach equilibrium intems of conservations.

Three days in Kenya's Maasi Mara National Park
5/5

I've been on Safari in several countries across different continents, and this was the most like a fairy tale. From the moment we touched down on that remote grass airstrip I was amazed to see - through the single prop airplane window- giraffe sauntering up to feed on the treetops, and elephants grazing alongside the ubiquitous Wildebeest.
Kenya's free-range safaris are reputed to be the best in the world, and of Kenya's parks, the Maasai Mara to be the most diverse. The Serengeti ecosystem of Tanzania is much more expansive, but during the dry season migration, the animals follow the green grass up into Kenya, crowding themselves into the "Mara".
In our three day excursion we witnessed non-stop animal activity: A herd of Wildebeest crossing the Mara River, a pack of five cheetahs run down a juvenile Wildebeest, a Leopard, three Lions resting in the shade, hyenas galore, troops of baboons, and flocks of every kind of hoofed animal. We literally were driving through herds of beastly cape buffalo, scores of Zebra, Topi, Tommy Antelope, etc. At times the herds were so vast they dotted the Savannah as far as my 45 year-old eyes could see.
We never saw a rhino, but hey, it gives me something for which to return.
It was difficult to choose a booking company. From my computer screen in the 'States every company promised the best. There are many operators as this is big business in Kenya. Through a friend of a friend we stumbled across Africa Safari Classics, and they delivered the goods. They set us up in a great camp that was within our budget. Our luxury tents overlooked the Mara river. So after our morning game drive we would return to camp for our Noontime meal - only to observe more game! From the camp itself we could watch Hippos staying cool in the Mara River while a baby and a giant crocodile sunned themselves on its muddy banks.
After the sunset game drive we returned to a buffet meal which always satisfied. Our rooms were spacious and comfy. A system of window screens and bed netting calmed any fear of nighttime mosquitoes.
Mr. Maurice was only a phone call away when we needed transit hotels in Nairobi, ATMs, and flights in and out of the bush. I can't wait to bring my wife and kids next time.

Outstanding Service & Support
5/5

Had a no problems with communicating with Richard, his replies were always very speedy and helpful, and all hotel transfers were organised. On the first day of the safari we met with Isaack, or driver and guide, and thought we were going off to pick up others for the tour, but found out we were on a private safari. So pleased!
Isaack was perfect as a guide, so knowledgeable, and such a good driver. On the few occasions we weren't the first to a see something, he guided the 4x4 into the ultimate position.
He always checked to see if we were satisfied - and we couldn't have been more so. Food boxes for lunches were provided by the hotel / lodges (which were an absolute treat - arranged through Richard).
We visited Manyara, Ngorogoro & Tarangire parks in our 3 days - an experience of a lifetime.
Thank you Richard & Isaack - it couldn't have been better.

Exceeded Expectations!
5/5

We had such an incredible experience with Prime Safaris! Both of our guides were so knowledgeable and friendly and went above and beyond for our group. Vincent and Mark felt like they became part of our family and we were so sad to say goodbye. Our safari experience at Bwindi was out of this world spectacular and we also loved our trips to Chimp Island and Jinja. Wow. Thank you so much Prime Safari for your planning, communication, service and all fun! I will be recommending your company to every person I hear travelling to Uganda!

Great experience
5/5

Our first safari trip and we were glad we chose Aardwolf Africa. Esther was friendly and helpful. Our driver/guide/friend Paul, experienced, helpful and of course friendly, made us feel very welcomed and made the effort to show us as many of the wonderful creatures and sights as we "demanded" ; ) Even entertained us with a few Kenyan songs. Nice, clean and problem free land cruiser.

Amazing experience in and around the Maasai Mara
5/5

Transtrek Safaris are simply unforgettable. Daniel was fantastic at making sure for our 4 day 3 night safari complimented the rest of our time in Kenya (for example we were already going to visit Lake Naivasha). Our guide Tony was extremely knowledgable and enabled us to have a wildlife experience beyond our dreams. The leopards we saw just made you speechless. We had really great accomodation and were welcomed everywhere with extremely comfortable tents (if you can really call them that, with ensuite's, flushing toilets and wooden floors!) and were very well fed. We would particularly recommend the Mara Naboisho conservancy, which with its strict entrance policy and work with the local Maasi was a very personalised experience. We particularly like the Wilderness Camp as were felt even closer to nature and enjoyed the small nature of the set up. Thank you so much for so many amazing memories in only 4 days.

Tanzania safari good, but...
3/5

I booked a 4 days safari in Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Right Choice.
On the day of the departure, I discovered:
1 The tour was to Tarangire and not Lake Manyara.
2 I had to travel with "Meru Slopes" and not with Right Choice.
3 The other travellers of my safari booked directly with Meru Slopes and had free pick up at the airport, hotel included...

So, if you travel in Tanzania, book with Meru Slopes directly!
