About: Kenya
A country of contrasts
Overall rating
5/5

We spent 15 days in Kenya, where 6 of them were on a safari. We had an amazing holdiday. We must admit that 6 days of safari was enough - maybe 5 would be perfect. All the driving is exhausting, I'm not gonna lie. Otherelse we slept in both budget hostels and luxurious hotels, and we really got to see the contrasts in this beautiful country. We stayed outside of Nairobi for the first night, and then went to three different national parks. We then spent a few days in Nairobi, some time i Mombasa, and then a few days at Diani beach. This was perfect for us, and we feel like we got to experience al ot of culture, but also some relaxing in the end. We will probably not go back to Kenya, just because we feel like we have experienced so much there, and there are other places we want to visit, but we will recommend everyone who hasn't been there to go.

Tebla was organized, knowledgeable, caring and efficient.

An Unforgettable and Authentic Experience in the Okavango

Our 4-day mobile safari with Tebla and his crew stands out as one of the most memorable trips we've ever taken, and undoubtedly the best for observing African wildlife. The campsite was comfortable and thoughtfully set up, featuring a cozy tent with a sitting long-drop toilet, a bucket shower, and cloth wash basins filled with warm water. Stepping out of the tent each morning, we were greeted by impalas, springboks, and other animals grazing by the water, about 100 meters away. The silence was broken only by the sounds of birds and the natural wildlife—perfect tranquility.

Our daily routine included an early morning game drive, a midday lunch and siesta, an evening game drive, and a superb dinner prepared on-site by Kumo, a professional chef. The evening meals were a highlight: everything was cooked from scratch, including freshly baked bread from an oven heated with coals placed on top. Each dish in the three-course meals was presented with a sense of occasion before the grand reveal.
Our guide, Tebla, was outstanding—highly organized, attentive to every detail, and dedicated to ensuring our needs were met. His deep knowledge of the Okavango Delta, its wildlife, and a wide range of subjects from history to astronomy was remarkable. Tebla had an uncanny instinct for which waterholes to visit and when, thus making every outing a success.

Surprisingly, we never needed binoculars. Tebla would drive us to spots where animals naturally congregated, and then we’d wait. Elephants, lions, and giraffes paid no mind to our presence and would approach the vehicle, providing incredible photo opportunities. The evening game drives typically concluded with a picnic, featuring light snacks, a glass of wine, and breathtaking views of the African sunset.
This trip was truly authentic and meaningful for us. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a genuine and unforgettable safari experience.

Ramja Safaris provided personalized and detailed organization with excellent communication.
5/5

We picked Ramja Safaris because we were impressed right away by owner Steve's communication. He was transparent, quick to respond, and understood our goals for our trip. He helped us fully customize our itinerary, accommodations, local flights and even provided some options so we could make decisions that best fit our interests and budget. Steve was available via Whats App and email during the planning process. He and his wife Jackie even met us at the airport when we landed at 3:30am just to make sure our trip was off to a smooth start.

We had two guides during our trip, Moses and Isaack. Both guides were extremely passionate about the Safari experience. They were as excited as us for good animal sightings. We really felt that they cared about our experience and wanted us to have a good trip. The were knowledgable, easy going and great people to share our experience with. Thank you for going above and beyond.

You can't go wrong with Ramja! Its a family, locally owned business where you will be given individualize attention by people who are excited to welcome you to their amazing country.

Trip of a Lifetime!
5/5

My husband and I were invited to join a group of friends on a trip to Kenya and Tanzania. The trip itself was amazing. Our trip leader, Gerald, was fantastic. By the time we met him in
person, he knew each couple, their particular wants and needs, and he took care of every detail of the trip. On this trip, we thought we were focusing primarily to see animals. What we experienced was way beyond that; the trip was taken to the next level via coordinated visits with the local people, be that in the Kibera slums in Nairobi, speaking with the women of a local Masai village, or meeting with a local family that made banana beer. The animals were absolutely amazing, Gerald wa professional but personable, and the accommodations were all different but great
experiences. But visiting the people where they lived and worked was the cherry on top of this amazing trip. Kudos to Gerald for leading this trip of a lifetime. Your extensive knowledge and love of both Kenya and Tanzania, fun personalty, and attention to detail made this a trip of a lifetime!

A Memorable Safari Adventure in Kenya and Tanzania

My safari adventure in Kenya and Tanzania was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I booked the tour, I was impressed with the level of communication and professionalism. The company was transparent, easy to reach, and eager to answer all my questions, ensuring every detail was meticulously planned and accounted for.

Service and Reliability
The service throughout the journey was impeccable. From the guides to the drivers, every team member was not only highly skilled but also warm, welcoming, and eager to share their insights. Their reliability was remarkable; everything was perfectly timed, with no delays or last-minute surprises, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. We always felt safe and well taken care of, with excellent accommodations and vehicles that were comfortable and well-equipped.

Value for Money
Given the level of service, comfort, and unforgettable experiences provided, this tour was absolutely worth every penny. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, blending luxury with an authentic safari feel, and the meals were top-notch. I felt that I received outstanding value for what I paid, and I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a safari that offers both adventure and comfort.

The Safari Experience
Seeing the “Big Five” was undoubtedly the highlight of the trip. Our guide had a deep knowledge of the animals’ habits and habitats, which led us to encounter lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and even the elusive rhino! Each encounter felt intimate, and the guides made sure to respect the animals’ space, which allowed us to witness these majestic creatures in their natural environment.

We also had a chance to immerse ourselves in the vibrant Maasai and Samburu cultures. Our visits to local villages were enlightening and respectful, offering a genuine look into their daily lives, customs, and traditions. This cultural immersion added an entirely new dimension to the journey, making it not only an adventure but also an educational experience.

Educational Insight
Our guides were true experts, enriching our experience with fascinating facts about the wildlife, landscapes, and local cultures. Their passion for conservation was evident, and it was inspiring to learn about the efforts in place to protect these incredible ecosystems. I came away with a deeper appreciation for wildlife and conservation work, which was one of the unexpected rewards of this trip.

In Conclusion
Overall, my safari in Kenya and Tanzania was an unforgettable journey. The combination of thrilling wildlife encounters, cultural immersion, and educational insight made it a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would highly recommend to anyone considering a safari. The team’s dedication to creating a flawless experience truly stood out, and I left with wonderful memories, new knowledge, and a profound respect for the beauty of East Africa.
