Elisa was warm and charming, Murchison falls was spectacular
4/5

We finished a 2 night /3 day Safari to Murchison falls. My friend who we were visiting booked so I can't comment on communication but it was very good value for money - 2 adults and 4 kids. Pakuba lodge was comfortable with excellent food, our vehicle was comfortable and clean and included were game drives and boat rides. Elisa our driver was wonderful and dedicated to making sure we saw plenty of game. He was punctual, friendly and great with the kids. The only thing was the long drive from Kampala to MF with several stops - I would suggest fewer stops and taking a packed lunch if traveling with kids. Our lodge was 1.5 hours after reaching the gate which made for a long day. Would definitely recommend the company and Elisa!!

Machame Route 6-day climb
5/5

Preparation:
In the evening before the start of the hike we had a briefing in which everything was explained to us about the tour by our guide Livingstone. In addition, our complete equipment was checked by him too. Everything we didn't have (Gaters, thick hats, duff bags, 1x rain pants, 2 balaclavas, 4x 1.5L water bottles), we could rent for a fair price. Everything which was missing was procured within a very short time. We felt very well taken care of.

DAY 1
Arusha to Machame Gate to Machame Camp
•Elevation: 1674m to 2835m
•Distance: 11 km
•Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
•Habitat: Rain Forest
We started with breakfast at our hotel where we have been picked up by the crew at 8 am. I have booked a private tour with my girlfriend. 9 people accompanied: 1 guide, 1 assistance guide, 1 cook for us, 1 cook for the crew and the rest were packers. We were very surprised because we would have expected only half of the people.
The drive from Arusha to the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park Gate took about 2 hours. The journey passes through the village of Machame which is located on the lower slopes of the mountain. We started at the Machame gate and walked through the rain forest on a winding trail up a ridge.

DAY 2
•Machame Camp to Shira Camp
•Elevation: 2835m to 3750m
•Distance: 5 km
•Hiking Time: 4-6 hours
•Habitat: Moorland
After breakfast, we left the glades of the rain forest and continued on an ascending path, crossing the little valley walking along a steep rocky ridge, covered with heather, until the ridge ends. The route turned west onto a river gorge. Time for rest, dinner, and an overnight stay at the Shira campsite.
DAY 3
•Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
•Elevation: 3750m to 4600m to 3900m
•Distance: 10 km
•Hiking Time: 6-8 hours
•Habitat: Semi Desert
From the Shira Plateau, we continued to the east up a ridge, passing the junction towards the peak of Kibo. As we continued, our direction has changed to South East towards the Lava Tower, called the “Shark’s Tooth” We continued down to the Barranco Hut to an altitude of 3900m. Here we rested, enjoyed dinner, and stayed overnight. Although you end the day at the same elevation as when you started, this day is very important for acclimatization and will help your body prepare for the summit day.

DAY 4
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
•Elevation: 3900m to 3995m to 4673m
•Distance: 9km
•Hiking Time: 8-10 hours
•Habitat: Alpine Desert
After breakfast, we left the Barranco camp and continued on a steep ridge passing the Barranco Wall also known as “Breakfast wall”, to the Karanga Valley campsite where we had lunch. After lunch, we left the Karanga camp and hit the junction which connects with the Mweka Trail. We continue up to the Barafu Hut. At this point, we have completed the South Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Here we camped, rested, enjoyed dinner, and prepared us for the summit.
Shortly before midnight, we continued our way to the summit.

DAY 5
•Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Hut
•Elevation: 4673m to 5895m (and down to
3048m)
•Distance: 5 km ascent / 12 km descent
•Hiking Time: 7-8 hours ascent / 4-6 hours descent
•Habitat: Arctic
The ascend led us through heavy scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim. This was the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek.
At Stella Point (5756m), we stopped for a short rest and continued our way the peak. On the way from the Stella point to the peak we were rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise we have ever seen. From Stella Point, it was a 1-hour ascent to the summit between glaciers. We successfully arrived at the Uhuru Peak, where we have reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa. We spent around 10 minutes before we began our descent straight down to the Mweka Hut camp site, stopping at Barafu for lunch and a power nap. Later in the evening, we enjoyed our last dinner on the mountain and a well-earned sleep… Exhausted but happy

AMAZING SAFARI EXPERIENCE
5/5

My husband and I booked our 6-day safari (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions back in 2019, aiming to do a 2020 safari. We ultimately postponed our safari due to COVID-19 and rescheduled for 2021. Tanzania Roadside Expeditions was so wonderful in being flexible with our dates and very communicative with helping plan our new trip in 2021, especially with accommodating new COVID restrictions. Our safari driver/guide was James and we felt that he went above and beyond to provide us the best safari experience. With James' sharp eye and 15 years of safari experience, we saw so many animals and he answered all our questions about them. He also went out of his way to make sure that we got our PCR test done and that we received our results before our flight back home. We are so appreciative to both James and Paul at Tanzania Roadside Expeditions and would absolutely recommend them for your next safari.

Amazing 7 days Camping Safari
5/5

Everything about our experience with Lion King Adventures was amazing.
Since the beginning, Pendo was very patient and super helpful with our planning.
Our guide Richard had incredible knowledge about the animals and all the parks  (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara) and it is unbelievable the way he can spot the animals from a very long distance. We were able to see so many animals, and even the crossing in Mara river! He also suggested some alterations to our itinerary that definitely made the trip even better.
Our cook Yusuph was also amazing! He cooked delicious meals for us.
Both of them were very professional and polite, and we were super comfortable during the entire trip.
Thank you so much for this experience!

Outstanding organisation and great employees - Perfect Safari
5/5

My girlfriend and I booked a 6-day safari as well as a 6-day Kilimanjaro climb (Machame Route) and a transfer to Zanzibar with Serengeti Camping Safari. Our contact person during the whole period was Anita. She is a real organizational talent and answered all our questions, within a few minutes, to our complete satisfaction. Honestly, we have never felt so well taken care of on any of our trips as with her. Anita does a great job and is also a kind-hearted person!
At Kilimanjaro Airport we were warmly welcomed by Anita and a driver. We went directly to the office (Arusha City Center) where we received welcome gifts (I don't want to spoil too much here) and the rest of the payment was processed. Afterwards there was the briefing for the safari which started the next morning. Everything made a super impression.
After the briefing we were driven to a nice hotel with a garden where we should spend the night (The Charity Hotel, Arusha). At the hotel we freshened up briefly and then Anita showed us around town and got us some local food. Then it was already late and we went to bed because the safari should start the next morning and we were still a little tired from the flight.
After breakfast we were greeted by Anita and Aaron, our safari guide. We were introduced to each other and then we were off! Aaron has been a very personable guide and had lots of knowledge as well as a very good eye for animals. The car was a comfortable Toyota Land Cruiser. We went to the following parks: Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. We stayed at Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge, Serengeti Heritage Luxury Camp and Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp. One accommodation was more beautiful than the other!
During the safari, we were provided full board. There was breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was always very good. Aaron always asked us what we wanted to do and gave us super suggestions. So we usually left early in the morning to take advantage of the whole day in the respective park.
The safari was a lot of fun and we would book it again the same way. On the last day of the safari Aaron drove us back to the hotel where we had the briefing for our Kilimanjaro climb. We were accommodated in the same hotel. Again everything was very well organized by Anita.

Incredible experience
5/5

We had the most amazing experience traveling through Kenya with Africa FlashMC tours. I typically arrange our travel on my own, but for our family’s first trip to Africa I wanted the expertise of a guide. Communicating with Peter leading up to our trip could not have been easier. He always responded in a timely manner; he patiently answered all of my questions and he was flexible and accommodating in creating the perfect custom itinerary for our family with two little kids. Our actual tour surpassed all of our expectations. We visited Ol Pejeta and Samburu and enjoyed both. Our guide, Edward, truly made our trip. By the end of our tour Edward felt like family to us and we were sad to say goodbye. Our kids loved him and we did too. He shared so much knowledge with us and we appreciated his graciousness throughout. Would highly recommend!

Money well spent!
5/5

We took a 5-day trip (Oct 4-8, 2021) which included Maasari Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Hell's Gate. This was my first experience on a safari and I have to say I was blown away. Karibu made life so easy - they took care of our transport, accommodation, food, safari tickets. We were well taken care of and did not face any issues. All the people we interacted with from Karibu's team as well as all the other service providers we interacted with during those 5 days were incredibly sweet and hospitable.
Special shout out to James, Richard and Peter.
James took us to Maasai Mara and he was just amazing! He made sure we had the best possible safari experience and utilize our time to the fullest and get great viewings of the Big Five. He was super sweet and accommodating. Great job James! We absolutely loved you!
We explored Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Hell's Gate with Richard and he was very helpful and accommodating. He made sure we were well taken care of.
Our interaction with Peter during the safari was rather brief but we got in touch with Karibu tours again to arrange a Nairobi half-day tour and Peter was our driver/guide that day. Super sweet guy and very helpful!
All in all the Karibu team is awesome and we had a lot of fun on this trip. Thank you for making this happen!
