Breathtaking safari experience with Suricata
5/5

Amazing experience that one really needs to live through in person! The crew from Suricata Safaris really made sure that the whole trip runs as smoothly as possible.

Twalib a.k.a. Mr T, cheerful young fella, picked me up at the airport and dropped me of at the hotel. He was the first person from Suricata I encountered and he made sure I felt welcome to Tanzania and Arusha. I stayed at a Gateway hotel the night before and the night after safari. It's a decent, clean place, with just enough for those two one-night stays. It is centrally located, so you can easily access the local fresh fruit/vegi market and some restaurants on foot. Breakfast was included which of course came in handy. I was offered options to upgrade to more comfortable accomodations, however given that I only stayed in Arusha for those two one-night stays, I didn't find it necessary.

During the safari, we had an amazing team with us consisting of Rocky, our guide, and Action, our chef. They made our 5-day safari really complete! Rocky showed us the breathtaking nature and wildlife of Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangiri. He was full of interesting insights, sprinkled with humor. Action prepared us three delicious traditional Tanzanian meals a day, which both introduced me to Tanzanian cuisine and provided a good energy recovery after the long game drives. I was a solo traveler and a part of a fun 6-person group, that I can now hardly imagine this experience without! First 3 nights of the safari I camped, while the last one I stayed at a lodge. First and forth nights were at Twiga Lodge and Campsite, and if you're staying there, I'd recommend upgrading to a lodge. The campsite is just in front of the lodges on the lawn, and it isn't really a true camping experience since it is a part of a village in a dedicated, fenced area. The forth night (second one at Twiga), I asked Rocky to upgrade to the lodge and that was quickly made possible with a discounted Suricata price. Second and third nights were at Serengeti Seronera and Ngorongoro Simba campsites, and for those two, I'd certainly recommend camping over a lodge. It is truly unique feeling sleeping pretty much among the animals. During the night, the wildlife wakes up, and you can hear these unique sounds of nature. Hyenas, buffalos, hippos, lions and numerous birds, all communicating in their own ways. During these two nights, we had a chance to encounter hyenas, gazelles, waterbucks and buffalos right around our tents. We did stay up during our night at Serengeti waiting for lions, but they seemed too shy to show up that night and we were only able to hear their roars. Nonetheless, truly breathtaking! Disclaimer, for anyone that might be scared about sleeping at an unfenced camping area, I really felt safe during this whole time! There's an extremely low chance of animals attacking humans out of blue! Rocky also gave us useful tips in case of encounters and really made sure we didn't feel in danger. Essentially, if you don't do anything stupid, you're already good.

Arriving back to Arusha, Hilary, the owner of Suricata, greeted us at the hotel. He made sure the whole experience went without any problems. It was him I had the first contact over email while arranging and booking the safari. Even during that conversation one was easily able to spot Hilary's professionalism and dedication to his business. I wanted specifically to mentioned all the Suricata crew I met since each and every one of them really put effort into making this trip memorable.

The safari itself is absolutely majestic! No words, photos or videos could convey that vastness, that biodiversity, that beauty. I'd recommend anyone to go and experience this themselves, and on that journey choose Suricata as your operator!

Memorable visit to Serengeti safari Tour
5/5

When we decided to take a trip to Tanzania, we have many options to visit when we checked online and tried to find out a tour operator who can guide us the perfect place to visit and where not to visit.

We came across many when we try online. But when we send mail to asking help in finding proper package for Tanzania, the first reply we get from Mr. Bartho of Serengeti Wakanda Tours and Safaris and immediately after few mails interchanged, he sent us the serengeti safari which also includes the Tarengire and Ngorongoro Crater in 5 days package.

We also shown interest in Kilimanjaro trekking for which he recommended and offered a day trip with very good price package.

We got very good Driver cum Guide Mr. Elia and a chef especially for our group of 5 members with a wonderful pop-up roof top 4X4 vehicle with window seat for all to enjoy the best view of wild life in all these National park for five days with free binoculars for the trip. He is very good guide with lot of knowledge about the park route and lot of information about the park, animals, birds and local tribes etc etc. No end.

From the Chef Mr. Solomon, All 5 days of the safari trip, we had very fresh food cooked freshly by the chef and he used bake bread using his own charcoal used oven designed by himself. very nice fresh bread in the breakfast you love it with honey, bread spread and jam. We thanks to our chef for his delicious food.

What else you need in a safari trips, very good spacious tents, hot water for bath in some places but some places we may need to adjust with cold water. Yes, in safari you may need to adjust sometimes little deviations. In the whole, the trip is out of the world able to see all animals expected and unexpected as well due to experience of the guide/driver Mr. Elia. Thanks to him.

The one day trekking trip to Kilimanjaro was also well organised with the guide Mr. Edward, we enjoyed the trekking even though we were not able to achieve what we suppose to but no regret we enjoyed the fullest with the proper lunch break as it was our fault that we were tired due to our travel schedule and not prepared well for trekking.

In Total, I strongly recommend Wakanda Serengetti tours and safaris

Unbelieveable Experience.
5/5

Just back from the trip of "Claws of Africa" in Tanzania and want to thank Good Earth for making the adventure so wonderful. Coordinated the itinerary with the kind and very gracious assistance by the people of "Claws of Africa" who helped ensure that everything went smoothly, that the lodgings were comfortable, that the food would meet the needs of the vegetarians in our small group, and that we had the services of the very best guide in Tanzania, We saw so many animals in the four national parks we visited, including 19 lions in one day (not that we were counting); beyond our dreams!

High level services
5/5

Me and my husband went on the 5 day Safari tour with Suricata Safaris and they exceeded all our expectations.
Booking was easy, they answered all my emails in just a matter of hours all the time and gave me multiple options for truly good prices compared to other companies.
Once we got to the airport, they picked us up and drove us to the hotel in Arusha where we had a short briefing.
The next day we embarked on the adventure that has become one of the greatest experiences of our lives.
Our guide, Rocky, was amazing. He knew all the information about local wildlife, answered all our questions throughout the five days, was patient with our group but also managed to be our leader in the same time and keep us on track with the schedule.
Food was also very delicious, water was provided by them in unlimited amounts.
Their services are the highest levels, can recommend them wholeheartedly.

Experienced and dedicated.
5/5

It was a wonderful experience. The guide was always ready to stop wherever we wanted and made detours to search for certain animals when we would like to see a specific one. He had a great knowledge, not only about the fauna but also about the flora. A human Wikipedia. The cook was fabulous.

The best tour operator for our silver-wedding-Uganda-tour
5/5

In October 2019 we visited a travel show to get inspired for our next travels. After looking at different offers we decided on a 22 day self-drive adventure through Uganda in May and June of 2020. We were really excited but everything changed because of Covid. Uganda closed its borders pretty quickly and we had to postpone our trip to June 2021 and turned it into a vacation to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary.

At the beginning of June 2021 we arrived in Entebbe, got picked up at the airport and driven to our accommodation where we met Axel the next day. Axel was our contact person during our trip and he was also the one who handed over the Toyota Land Cruiser with an elevating roof, which was quite the advantage in the following days.

It was time to get into the chaotic traffic of Kampala and head to our next stop, the Sippi waterfalls in the east of the country. Google Maps told us that we would arrive there at about 6 o'clock in the evening. However, the Ugandan government was kind enough to impose its second lockdown on the country. Luckily, tourism was exempted. In Kampala people tried to get their children out of school and clogged the city’s streets for hours. We finally managed to arrive at our destination at around 10 pm.
After a hike to the falls, we were drawn to Uganda's northernmost national park, the Kidepo Valley National Park. A must do for every safari fan. A park with lots of wildlife. Only the tsetse flies were a bit of a nuisance, but they didn't stop us from seeing lions, buffaloes and other animals.

From there, our journey continued to the Murchison Falls National Park where the Murchison Falls squeeze through a narrow crevice. It is a breathtaking natural spectacle which let’s you experience the power and beauty of nature with all your senses.
The chances to see lions in the park are normally pretty high but they decided to hide from us. Luckily, the sighting of a leopard did make up for it.
The Kibale Forest National Park, which is famous for its chimpanzees and forest elephants, was definitely a highlight for us. We only saw the droppings of the forest elephants during our chimpanzee tracking but seeing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat was an experience we will never forget.
The serenity with which they accepted our presence was very impressive. It surely is a must do, especially for anyone interested in wildlife. The fact that the visit is limited to only one hour is a pity for us tourists, but absolutely right and important for the animals.

After this very touching experience, we continued our journey to the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
In the Ishasha sector of the park the famous tree lions can be spotted and this time the safari luck was on our side as we discovered a presumably pregnant lioness relaxing on a tree. The next day we spotted another rare hyena family.

A scenic drive along the volcanic mountains took us to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is where we did our Gorilla Tracking. After a proper briefing, us tourists were assigned to different groups visiting different gorilla families. Our backpacks were carried by local porters, who also helped us with rough spots in the jungle. Our group was preceded by scouts who had already searched for the gorillas and were in contact with our rangers. After a challenging walk through the rainforest, we arrived and after a brief reminder of how to behave, we went to the gorilla family which was peacefully sitting in the thick forest doing their favourite activity - eating. We were greeted by a young animal of about three years, which wanted to attract our attention with a show. The silverback was sitting right next to us and it seemed like nothing could bother him. A truly imposing animal, whose impressive body gives no hint of how peaceful it is. After a few more steps, we also discovered the female family members these were a bit shy. We were allowed to get as close as 10 metres to the animals, which made the experience indescribably beautiful. It is hard to believe how quickly an hour can pass, because that’s when we had to leave these gentle giants again and make our way back.
After this unforgettable experience, our journey continued to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes in Africa, beautifully embedded in nature. We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary here, right where the three countries of Uganda, Rwanda and the Congo meet, with a spectacular sunset over the lake, far away from any hustle and bustle.
At the end of our trip we stopped at the Lake Mburo National Park, the park with the highest density of zebras in Uganda, before we returned to Germany via the Entebbe Airport.

22 days of self-drive tour through Uganda are far too short to capture this fantastically beautiful country in its entirety. It always made us a little sad when we heard from other travellers that they were only there for 9-14 days. Axel was crucial for the smooth running of our great trip, and no matter whether it was a blocked SIM card, a flat tyre or confusing Google Maps, he was always available for us and could solve all our problems. Thank you for your "all-round carefree support"!

22 days were just not enough for us – we will be back!

We had the best time with the best company!
5/5

Me and two friends did the 4 day Serengeti and Ngorongoro Tour. Our guide Andrew was the most passionate and sweet guy. He knows the Serengeti like the back of his hand and every little detail about every animal. With his amazing eyes he was able to show us all of them, which definitely exceeded our expectations. He responds to all your needs and is in addition to that super funny.
Three times a day Dullah the chef blessed us with the most delicious and sophisticated meals (and freshly baked bread twice a day!). A vegan, vegetarian or gluten free diet is no problem whatsoever, he can do it all.
I loved the atmosphere at the campsites and especially in the camp kitchens. Small piece of advice: take your shoes into the tent overnight or a hyena might take them.
Last but not least the price we paid was very fair and affordable, compared to most other safari companies. Especially for the many services we were offered. By instance, all kinds of drinks were included unlike with other companies.
All in all we would definitely recommend Serengeti Wakanda!
