Magnificent - Surpassed all our expectations
We had a fantastic and special 15 night holiday in Uganda arranged by Matoke Tours.
The service from Matoke was excellent, from initial enquiry to the end of our trip. Communication and recommendations were good, payment was easy and safe and the service provided was at a fraction of the price available to us in the UK for the same accommodation.
We expected a great trip but this surpassed all our expectations. As with all trips to countries like Uganda you need to be prepared for poor roads, long transfers and limited healthcare etc.
All the lodges we stayed at were different and were as we expected. Food and service was very good (although we did struggle with the large food portions).
The food at Mahingo was probably the best. The new managers there were very welcoming and there was a lot to do there in the form of activities. If I were to do this trip again I would have 2 nights there. Bakers lodge was probably our favourite,with the hippos round and about. That said, they were all really really good.
Everything went to plan without any hitches. We were impressed by the schedule...the timings for the activities and transfers were perfect.
We saw so much and Uganda was far more lovely than we could have ever imagined.
Wild Waters was beautiful...we just had a day relaxing there. I think 2 nights is enough as you are a bit trapped there.
Robert was one of the best guides we have come across on our travels. He is a real gentleman in every sense of the word. He was knowledgeable, fantastic at spotting animals, and good at getting us the front seats on boat trips. Robert really made our trip special, we could not have asked for a better driver/guide.
The parks were fantastic, lush, green and we saw tree climbing lions, leopards and hyenas up close. The boat trips were fabulous for spotting birds and crocodiles. The highlight of the trip was the gorilla trek. We got ridiculously close to the family we trekked too. Once in a lifetime stuff.Be warned, don't turn up expecting a gentle walk to see them. The terrain is seriously up and down and some people with us struggled as they were ill prepared and unfit. Carrying your own backpack isn't a matter of pride, employ a porter and put some money back into the local economy.
We had a holiday that will live on in our memories.
I would happily recommend Matoke to anyone who wishes to travel to east Africa and Uganda in particular. It was first class.

Experience of a Lifetime!
Words can not describe how amazing the team at Kilimanjaro Trekking Mate is. From their leader Nick to all of their guides, exceptional cooks and incredible porters, the entire team is amazing. If you want to summit Kili, do it with these guys. They make the experience worry free and they get you to the top. Amazing attitudes that will make you wish the trip would ever end. Thank you all for the amazing trip.

Fantastic tour guide!!
We had the BEST time in Uganda with Amazing Gorilla Expeditions as our tour guides. (Or AGE for short!). Would not hesitate to recommend this company to family and friends, they were incredibly professional from the day I first enquired to the day we said goodbye.
Our driver and tour guide for our trip was an absolute LEGEND! Eddie was the best!! Eddie was so kind and welcoming it didn't take long for us to become close friends. He looked after us throughout our three week trip with great care and dedication. He made is laugh a lot, he had so much knowledge and information to share with us that every day was a great adventure. We learnt so much!! Eddie has so much knowledge about animals, birds and Uganda he shared with us kindly! We had a truly brilliant time and could not thank our guide enough for looking after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble and on plenty of occasions Eddie went over and above our expectations to ensure we had a fantastic time. When it came to my wife and I trying to make the extra effort to see lions or leopards he was most enthusiastic and patient with us. When our trip sadly came to an end we had one last meal with Eddie and said an emotional goodbye, as we had grown to be good friends.
I found AGE online and took a chance to book with them direct instead of booking through a super expensive UK travel agent. Robert and Evelyn were incredibly helpful and reassuring throughout the booking process, could not be happier with the service.
Our Toyota land cruiser for our trip was the perfect vehicle for exploring Uganda. It was quickly nicknamed THE BEAST and it did not dissapoint. We had numerous game drives and off road treks and it truly felt like the safari we had hoped for.

Unforgettable Experience
Ahmed and I booked with Home to Africa to travel across Uganda. With so many operators it was hard to know who to choose. Home to Africa offered a personal family feel and are entirely a local business. We totally loved our experience. It was organised so well by Elias who kept in touch all the time, providing updates and information. Our guide Nasser was amazing. He gave us truly an unforgettable safari. Gorilla trekking was fantastic and Queen Elizabeth park will always remain in our mind. Food and accommodation were spot on and completely suited our needs. We are already planning our next trip back.

Excellent service and strongly recommendable
We chose Fina because she is the most responsive agent and also provided the most reasonable quotation. After lots of changes from us and plenty of communications, we arrived in Kenya finally. Fina didn't disappoint us! The accommodation is wonderful, the gaming is amazing, and most importantly, the driver, Mr. Ederson is so experienced! Our trip will be much less interesting without Mr. Ederson, with his guide, we have seen so many unforgettable events. We will strongly recommend Across the Wild to our friends those are going to visit Kenya. At last, I only want to remind that please avoid booking AA Lodge in Maasai the next time, which is horribly managed, whose manager and staff kept lying and cheating.
