Amazing Trip of a Lifetime!
5/5

My first Tanzania trip was with Maasai Wanderings 11 years ago. Donna and Nas were so amazing then, when I finally decided to tackle Mt. Kilimanjaro, there was no doubt in my mind I would be working with them again. What initially would have been a mere 8-day trip turned into 3 weeks of awe-inspiring experience.

Anna, who arranged our itinerary was extremely responsive and after hearing of our interests, created the perfect itinerary.

My first leg of the trip was to hike Mt Kilimanjaro. As a solo female hiker, my chief guide, Holson, and his team of porters made me feel safe during the hike and at camp. They were courteous, funny and very respectful. Second week, I met a friend who joined me in Arusha to begin our amazing 8-day tour that included Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. We saw so many animals including all of the 'Big 5'. Some of my favorite viewings were baby elephants playing in the water and Wildebeest migration. Our guide and driver, Godwin, was so knowledgeable about all the animals, their behavior and overall history of the parks, we were fortunate to get some of the best education of the wild life.

After an incredible experience of climbing Mt. Kili and enjoying the animals, we flew off to Zanzibar for a 4-day relaxation on the beach.

These places were incredible on their own, however, Anna, Donna, Holson, Godwin and the rest of the team definitely enhanced the experience with their knowledge and great customer service. I would highly recommend them and look forward to going back for the third time!

Review about Serengeti National Park by Jonas Nimmersjö
Overall rating
5/5

This is the national park of the national parks. If there is one place every one heard of in Africa it is Serengeti. And that is not without reason. You can see all the big five here. Although I have not seen a rhino in Serengeti and recommend a tour to Ngorongoro to see that one. If you go to Serengeti be sure to spend som time here, the light for photos are best in the morning and in the evening. And the park is large so it takes time to see it all. Here you can find lodges, tented camps and you can bring your own tent if you dare. The only drawback from my rating was the Bush vibe ... the reason for that ... is you and me. If you go here, as in Ngorongoro, you will see a lot of Toyota Landcruisers packed with people.
I have been visiting Serengeti more than five times from 1991 - 2017.

If you need a safe card this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed and If you pair it with Serengeti the chances of a Big Five score i 99%. Here you will see a rhino, 99% chance. Then the scenery is amazing. The only downside is the price, and all the other tourists ... you will not be alone when you see the rhino or the lions.
I have been down in the crater more than eight times from 1991-2017.

Compared to Tarangire and Serengeti I can not give more than average to Mikumi. The tarmac road crossing the park also takes away some of the bush vibe.

Arusha National Park is a green paradise
Overall rating
3/5

I have been in Arusha National Park several times, and the park never disappoints me. Of course it depends on what you are looking for. Arusha National Park is not comparable to Serengeti, Tarangire and other parks in Tanzania. But the park is great in its own way. There are, they say no big cats in the park ... but I have actually seen a leopard once crossing the road upp the mountain. The park sits on the eastern slopes of Mt Meru and you can drive upp quite high upp almost beyond the tree limit. Also the park features walking safari and canoeing. The later I have not tested but I can recommend the walking safari. Both in the lowlands walking to a water fall. And upp in the mountain ... (you need a guide with a gun on the walking safari). The park have both rainforests and small grass plains. You will I can almost promise you see buffalo, zebra, giraffe, waterbuck, flamingo, and two different kinds of monkey (not counting baboon) - the blue monkey and the colobus monkey. I do not know about accommodations today. But there are a lot of hotels close to the park. Arusha national Park was one of our usual day trip from where we used to live when I lived in Tanzania. So I really love the park. This time it was also a day trip and it was the first time for me with a safari company - Mlimani Safaris Africa. And I can recommend them to. So my conclusion is. If you are visiting Arusha for other purposes than Safari (business / conferences) and do not have time for a long safari. Arusha National Park is the place to go. If you have been in the other bigger parks and are tired of big plains and dusty roads, but still wants some wildlife and nature experience. This is the place to go. Or if you like the shade of a jungle. Don't miss Arusha National Park.

Amazing Parks in Tanzania

We visited four parks - Lake Manyara, Nogorongoro crater, Serengeti and migration camp plus Tarangire. As our guide Said from Bush2City told us before hand, and exactly right, each one different and each one with its own magic. I would like to have a favourite spot but they were all wonderful. Simply amazing. Every trip will be different things happening, every day you have moments of magic. Perhaps Tarangire at the end of the trip was the cherry on the cake - An amazing Safari
