During our two days here, the park was a bit quiet. We see the usual, but not the big beast like lions etc. Though the bird scene here is amazing!

Amazing safari!

4/5

The safari and all the animals were amazing. We managed to see almost every animal in our 6 days safari. Masai Mara was my favorite park. The accomodation wasn't luxury at all in the tended camp but we had all the minimum services and the food was good. I think this is part of the experience. Our driver was super skilled, always connected to other drives to communicate where the animals were. The agency (budget holiday safari) is very serious and we respected the program. Amazing experience

An amazing experience with an excellent guide!
Overall rating
5/5

We made a Budget Camping Safari with Kanghela Safaris and it was a brilliant experience! Everything was organized perfectly and all people involved were very friendly and likeable!

Our guide, Andy Trivella, was one of the highlights of the trip. He is an amazing tracker and always tries to give his guests this extra experience. Approaching lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos on foot is really much better than in a car and although this was already our third camping safari, we never had the possibility to feel as close to the wildlife before! And, we made this trip with our daughter (16), we always felt safe! And he is a great storyteller around the camp fire! :-)

THANK you very much, Andy!!!

The safari crew (Bernhard Sibanda and Memba Sibanda) made also a terrific job and were very friendly, too!. It is unbelievable, how tasty meals can be prepared with only an open fire. It was Membas first trip as a safari assistant and he is a natural talent!

We visited Hwange NP, Matopos and Mana Pools. All Camping sites were beautifully situated and we had, especially in Mana Pools, a lot of wildlife experiences. In Hwange it was very cold and due to the excessive rain season the animals were hiding in the bushes. Without Walking we would have seen "only" occasionally elephants, another advantage of Khangela Safaris and their focus on walking experiences.

In Matopos we stayed in the beautiful Farmhouse Lodge in the beautiful scenery surrounding the former farm.
The transfer from Matopos to Mana Pools was exhausting due to the long distance, but as a side effect we learnt a lot about Simbabwe and we saw the results of the Mughabe era: abandoned farms and factories! To get an insight into the culture and the political situation these transfer days were very interesting, too!

Overall, it was an extremely interesting, touching and unforgettable Holiday. We are really in love with Africa and we are looking Forward to returning to Simbabwe.

AND: Khangela Safari will definitely be our first choice!!!

Falling in Love with Kenya
Overall rating
5/5

I was a bit worried before my trip to Kenya, wasn't sure about the culture, the food, the place, the tour operators etc. Though upon meeting our guide and driver, I immediately knew that this will be a good trip!

The weather is a bit cooler than we thought, we did not bring enough clothes, so we were freezing in some nights. But generally the hotel will provide enough blankets for us to get thru the night, which is fine.

The accommodations were much better than I thought they would be, and the services were always top notch. All the people in Kenya seems to be happy all the time, we were greeted with big smiles everywhere we go. The food inside the hotel were absolutely amazing!

We went to 4 different places for game drives (Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli) , and they were all pretty good! Although we did not see all the big five (we missed the leopard), but we saw a Cheetah climbing a tree during the sunset time, which made up the loss we have. And hey, this just gives me an extra reason to come back to Kenya!

Our guide Francis was very lovely. He was super attentive, polite, knowledgeable, and have eyesight like eagle. He can spot animals miles away, and we were just so amazed all the time!

A big shout out to our tour operator Heritage of African Jungles Tours & Travel, they were super professional, organized, and attentive. Naomi who was the owner, made sure that we were very well taken care of thru out the tour, and even before our tour started, she was super responsive on e-mails, and is always happy to answer any questions from us.

I'm already planning my next trip to Kenya.

Reliable and fair price!
5/5

I have always dream of going on an Africa safari. But my budget is limited and yet I desire for comfort in lodging and food. I looked at price that has company office in USA (where I live) such as Gate 1 and Intrepid. My daughter and I would have to spend at least $6000 for the safari. I saw lower price on the web, but these companies do not have office in USA.
Luckily, I attend the New York City Travel Show in 2/2018. Here, I met Ibrahim - the owner of Afrishare. After 20 minutes with him, I received an offer of $4000 for 5 nights 6 days safari; 2 nights at Twiga Lodge, 2 nights at a luxury tent in Serengeti, and 1 night at luxury lodge Simba Kuratu. (I also received quote from other safari company at the show.)
I went home and do research on his company, and the place he suggested to stay. I feel confident about Afrishare legitimacy. So I return to the Travel Show the next day and place 20% deposit. (I paid him 80% when I met him at Kilimanjaro Airport.)
The trip was fantastics. I highly recommend this company. It is reliable and the price is decent.

Really wonderful experience that beyond expectation!!!
5/5

Was really treated like a friend which is beyond expectation and as a solo traveller, I feel at home at Hekima House with the team - Elieza and Jackson - and other travellers. Our driver as well as guide is also super experienced - can spot the leopard far far far away in the bush - and always focus on details and every person's need. Our chef and assistant are also very sweet and make delicious food for us. It's overall a fantastic experience and highly recommended! GoHekima!

Rwanda/Uganda Gorilla Adventure with Jason! AMAZING EXPERIENCE
5/5

My husband and I just came back from our 3- day Rwanda and Uganda adventure. Planning the trip was incredibly easy. In planning, Chris was extremely responsive to my questions, often replying to emails within an hour. When needed, he offered several options to address our concerns including a late evening pick-up to accommodate our flight.

But who really stole the show was our driver Jason! From the minute we arrived (1:00am) he was there with a smile to accommodate our needs. We visited several genocide museums in Rwanda, ate local Rwandan food, and seamlessly went through customs into Uganda. We even stopped to take several pictures along our drive to Bwindi including the beautiful flame tree and crested crane. Jason was a wonderful conversationalist during our travels often giving us cultural, socio-economic and geographical information that was relevant and well thought out. Our second day started with an early rise, and Jason met us for breakfast to provide a thorough briefing about the experience include recommendations for attire, photography and explanations about hiring a local porter. The gorilla tour was an incredible, once in a life time experience that I would highly recommend to any individual. After the tour, Jason organized an impromptu visit to a local village tribe (BATWA) where we got to sing and dance with the locals. Our return voyage back to Rwanda included opportunities to talk to locales about the genocide and eat delicious food. The land, the people and the animals of both countries will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

I would definitely consider returning back to Rwanda/Uganda and requesting Jason as your driver. The country and people are beautiful. Jason's leadership, attention to details and safety is unmatched and went a long way in creating such amazing memories. Thank you.

One of the best organized tour with wonderful service that resulted in a truly great experience
5/5

I wanted to thank you for the most amazing experience on our Gorilla trekking expedition in Uganda. Here are some observations

1. The overall experience was very smooth from booking, to pickup and dropoff. I really appreciated all the help their team provided.
2. The car and guide (Edward) were of the highest quality and made it a memorable trip. Edward is knowledgeable, friendly and was considerate throughout the trip. A truly great experience.
3. The hotels, lodging and food were excellent and exceeded our expectations.
4. Uganda is a beautiful country with some of the prettiest scenery, beautiful green countryside and mountains. I wish I had known about this and I would have gladly spent more time here. Hopefully another time.
5. The gorilla trekking experience was better than even imagined. Even though it is quite strenuous, the time spent with the Gorillas is unforgettable

Exceptional Safari Experience for a Family--Comparable to Best Tour Companies in the World
5/5

Tanzania Expeditions is an exceptional, locally-owned, Tanzanian-based travel agency specializing in moderately priced safaris. I am a World Studies Professor at Miami Dade College, and I have travelled throughout the world, including 100 countries, more than 50 African trips, and 10 safari experiences in east and south Africa. Tanzania Expedition’s customer care, price, tour guides, constant communication and itinerary are as outstanding as much higher priced luxury safari operators like Micato or Kensington Tours. Not to mention that by using Tanzania Expeditions, you are directly benefitting the local Tanzanian economy.

My family of four booked a private 9-day safari with 4-day Zanzibar beach extension. Even though we booked our tour relatively late during the busiest tourist season for the Great Wildebeest Migration, Tanzania Expeditions very quickly reserved available rooms and offered us options, including periodically checking on if closer available rooms to our sites became available. The service was friendly and impeccable as we altered our plans about 5 times before arriving in Tanzania. From the moment we were picked up at the Kilimanjaro Airport, our service was superb. All three of our guides went out of their way to make sure that we had a wonderful experience, including checking in on each of us as we had traveler’s stomach ailments or tiredness. Our guide listened to our interests and what we wanted to see, and amazingly accommodated our requests every day. It was if our tour guides had super secret knowledge of where the animals would be situation. Each guide was also exceptional in checking in and taking an interest in my children’s interests (ages 13 and 16). When we needed a bathroom in the middle of the national parks of Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Tarangire, our guide found restrooms in a matter of 15-30 minutes. When we asked for more time to shop, the guides gave us more time; and when we needed more time to watch a particular animal, the guide watched with us. Every night we had an overview with our tour guide to determine what we wanted to do the next day and make plans. And our safari jeep was hand cleaned every night even in the middle of the Serengeti at least 100 miles from the nearest town. If we needed a slower day with less animal viewing, our guides made it happen.

And the price for our safari and moderate lodge accommodations with in-room bathrooms and glamping tents in the Serengeti were excellent—especially considering that we only gave the company 6 weeks notice of our trip. Almost all of the lodges had all you can eat, healthy food with a combination of European continental and local Tanzanian cuisine. The food was very good to excellent at each spot, and there was enough variety that even my picky eating child was happy. The price for our two week, private excursion was nearly $4-5,000 less than most other luxury and high-end safaris without sacrificing the services and amenities.

After using some of the most exclusive tour companies on the planet in the past few years, I would most highly recommend Tanzania Expeditions.
