We originally contacted Tanja (African Savannah Travel) in 2019 to plan a trip to South Africa and Botswana which had to be postponed due to Covid.
Our priority had been to find a small travel company based in South Africa rather than a big North American one. We hit the jackpot in finding Tanja as she was amazing to work with due to her professionalism, response time and organization. From the first emails we exchanged with her, we knew that we had found the right travel agent to plan our trip. We were able to use her local expertise to plan an unforgettable trip. We had travelled to South Africa before, and Tanja was able to plan an itinerary that really suited our needs. She always gave us wonderful recommendations.
We had to make multiple changes to our trip due to Covid and she was always very accommodating. Her communication and efficiency were outstanding, and our trip ran like clockwork due to her attention to detail. When we arrived in Johannesburg we were met by Gavin, a local guide with a detailed personalized information package which was invaluable. She was also in contact with us via What’s App during the trip checking to see that everything was ok. It was reassuring to know that if there had been a problem Tanja would have been quick to respond to our needs. She also took the trouble to meet us halfway through the trip, it was so great to meet her in person. The game sightings for the whole trip and the variety of lodges were outstanding.
We hope to return to South Africa one day and would never use anyone else. We highly recommended Tanja to anyone who is considering a trip to South Africa, don't look anywhere else!

Wonderful!
We had a wonderful safari with Serengeti Wakanda Tours! Our driver (Hamza) was very knowledgeable and not only interested in the big five but in any peculiar plant or animal that crossed our way. Our cook (Maurice) was amazing as well: excellent meals and super easygoing. Finally, the overall organization was very professional. We did not have any problem during the safari and the organizer was able to adapt our schedule to a flight problem we had in order to make sure that we were able to have what we originally booked.

We had great experience with Sino Africa Safari (SAS) agent and their attentiveness to details and to our needs were impressive. Highly recommend SAS if you planned to safari in Africa. No questions they didn’t have an answer. If they don’t, they would try their best with the resources they have to help. One of us luggage was delayed by the airline, but with their help and coordination, our safari went on as planned. Thank you SAS!

I am writing a review as we found that organizing a safari in Tanzania without going through an agent has been very complex.
Costs are very high and how to know if the company you are hiring is any good for the price?
We are a French/Danish family with two children (11 and 15 years) that went to game drive in the beautiful, large and less crowded Ruaha national park with a total of 5 nights of which 3 nights were spent inside the park in August 2022 (we stayed the 2 other nights in transit in Iringa).
We chose to travel by jeep from Dar Es Salaam to the Ruaha park and even though it is a long journey of approx. 12 hours to Iringa, we were very happy to have done it as it gave us a great possibility to see and enjoy The Tanzanian countryside.
All the details of the 6 days (5 nights) trip package were coordinated via email/sms with Paul (our guide) and everything was delivered without flaw. We met Gerald the owner of the company in Iringa, a very simpatic and smiley man before driving further via a long and bumpy dirt road to the Ruaha park entrance.
Paul (guide) and Isa (our driver and guide) were both with us the entire trip and did everything they could to accommodate our wishes and always arrived on time when we were to be picked up in the morning.
Isa was an excellent driver on road (feeling very safe including when we drove from Dar Es Salaam to Ruaha) and off road before and in the park (agile and comfortable)
Their safari jeep was in excellent condition and very comfortable to sit in and with a small refrigerator to keep the water bottles cool. We felt safe at all times.
Isa and Paul were very helpful in spotting animals - we saw all the big five (among others) except the Rhino that does not live in the park.
We ended the tour having a great and relaxed relationship with them. Both are really nice and sympathetic people.
The Ruaha park is a gem offering a large variety of colourful landscape and vegetation ( rivers, flat and dry terrain, hills , rocky area, with many plant species including many Baobab trees in certain areas, and combining dry and green areas in August ). We really appreciated there were extremely few jeeps inside the Ruaha park, so we could get an authentic feeling of being on a safari, and it was possible to drive for long distances and many hours without meeting another jeep. Be aware however that in this park you will not see dense packs of animals like buffalos, zebras, antelopes like you can see in the Serengeti park. You will find more sparced and smaller groups of animals within a larger park.
We can highly recommend a tour organised with Kitonga Tours. Kitonga Tours will also be highly capable to organise safari tours to all other national parks in Tanzania.

I had a great time in Nakuru and Amboseli thanks to my great driver and guide, Albert.
Especially, I could see a herd of elephants with Mt. Kilimanjaro at Amboseli.
This view is unforgettable of my life.
