Want to go to Tanzania? 1 address: Quest Horizon Safaris
5/5

There's only 1 address if you want to visit Tanzania: Quest Horizon Safaris. They are flexible, trustworthy, propose a travel plan that is adapted to what you want to do, how much time you have and how much money you want to spend.
Great locations, great lodges and tent camps, fantastic driver, great stories. They also take care of the extension to Zanzibar. Thanks Naiman and Jabir for a fantastic adventure!

Good for budget
5/5

Big Time Safari LTD were great at keeping in touch with us before the safari and answered all our queries promptly. Martha was very friendly and helpful- doing everything she could to make our trip memorable. We were picked up and dropped off at the airport (separately as we had different flights) at very awkward times in the morning for free as part of this package. We did the 3 day masai trip which was pretty cheap. You do get what you pay for so cannot expect luxury (accommodation was very basic, food was good though) but every basic need was catered for. Our group had a great dynamic which helped make our trip most enjoyable- we managed to see the majority of the big 5 on our first game drive in the afternoon. Highly recommended.

The best time with Godfrey & African Traits
5/5

We are a group of 5 friends travelling from Australia. Three of us were staying in Arusha for two months before our holiday, so we had a lot of time to shop around for Safari companies - Godfrey from African Traits was the absolute standout company. We were so confident in him that we booked our trip to Kilimanjaro; a 4-day safari to the Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater; and then a 3 day hike through the Usambara Mountains. We had high expectations and were not disappointed! Godfrey pays very close attention to detail and everything ran perfectly. We took the Lemosho route to the summit of Kilimanjaro and had the best time. Godfrey met us in Arusha and drove us to Moshi where we stayed in a very comfortable We were lucky to have one of the best guides on the mountain, John (who is also called 'teacher' by so many guides you meet along the way because he has taught a lot of guides himself!) - he had a lovely personality & was very encouraging. He has a secret method that gets you to the summit! His assistant guides were fantastic & the porters were amazing. Godfrey met us after the hike and asked us for feedback and we had absolutely no changes to suggest - it was perfect.

We spent two nights in Moshi which was very relaxing. Godfrey then arranged our transport to Arusha, where we met him and he introduced us to Benny - our safari guide. We headed off on our next adventure to the Serengeti and Ngorogoro crater. Godfrey's team for Safari - Benny & Habibu (the cook) - were great again! The car & camping equipment were great. The food was delicious. Benny was so knowledgeable about both parks, all of the plants and animals - we couldn't find a question he didn't know the answer to. The parks were both incredibly beautiful. We spent one night in Arusha and then we headed to the Usambara mountains. The mountains are often overlooked by many tourists visiting Tanzania but to their loss - the experience was simply fantastic. We spent three days walking through small traditional Tanzanian villages with our local guide KiKi. Kiki could tell you everything you needed to know about village life in Usambara and also about all of the wildlife around you. The views were spectacular and the hospitality was outstanding. We stayed one night at Bushbay - a small, family run guesthouse in Mgwashi village. We loved it there - the staff were very very hospitable & the local food we had for dinner & breakfast was delicious. We visited a local women's pottery cooperative to buy some special souvenirs. We stayed our second night at an Eco Lodge overlooking the plains below the mountains - it was spectacular! African Traits were very responsive to our needs - we requested to visit the Irente Biodiversity Farm for breakfast and they incorporated it well into our itinerary. Overall the Usambara was an unexpected highlight & definitely worth the visit.

I would highly recommend African Traits for your travel in Tanzania. With Godfrey, you are guaranteed an authentic, professional, relaxing, and amazing experience.

Very good organization and exceptionnal staff
5/5

I'm very satisfied about the accomodations, the choice of lodges and the very good ratio quality / price.
It was a great experience to share these moments with our 2 grand-sons (10 years old). I appreciated in the past (twice on the top of Kibo), the services of Thadeus; and its with great pleasure I consider Jérôme Godfrey (Kileo Tours) as a very successfull follower. I appreciated particularly the exceptionnal staff, clear in explanations, finding always the good situations and so kind with our kids.

They don't do it for the money, the do it to share their love for nature!
5/5

I spent 3 nights in nDzuti as a solo traveller and had a amazing time ...
Judy and Bruce are the perfect couple for this, nDzuti is the perfect accomodation in the real wild Africa.
I've been to (South) Africa over a dozen times, always on safari trips and nothing beats their area.
It was the wildest I've seen so far and with all the sightings to yourself.
Bruce doesn't need a radio and a dozen other vehicles with drivers to help him find the animals.
I've met a lot of guides and trackers but I've never met a person that knows the bush this well!
I would definitly go back there because you really feel at home there, with only 4 rooms in one building it really is their home.
The area in front of their house is perfect to spot game, we had elephants at 2m from the fence.
During the drives we saw a lot of game and also the small game was special for them.
One night during diner, Judy ran into us jelling we had to go and grap the camera's because Bruce was coming to pick us up because he felt that there where so things to happen.
He waited the whole day, in the sun in his car, close to a kill under a bush. When he finally decided to go home he crossed 2 hyena's very close to the death animal.
He came to pick us up, we drove up there and we did all our light out ....
The feeling that you have when you're in the dark and the only noise you hear is the sound of the hyena's crushing the bones of that aninal, is not to tell in words. But the show was only to start ...
So now and then, Bruce puts on his spotligt and in the backgroup you could so 2 eyes, and then 2 more ....
Lionesses, coming to steal the kill, and all this, next to the road on 2m from our 4x4.
It was amazing. But the next part even made it better, a huge male leopard used to car to sneak up to the scene. He moved the spotlights over to the other side of the car and there the leopard was sitting and waiting for his moment, it was huge, the biggest I ever saw! The lions were busy with the hyena's so the leopard moved in and stole the kill. He moved it over to a big three on top of a small hill close to the scene, the legs of the death animal scratching our car ... We all did this with only now and then the use of the spotlight, the moon gave us just enough light to see the spectacle. Bruce's vision about not interrupting nature is great.
Back to the story, because all the great stories have a great end ... The leopard toke the kill up into the three, but the lionesses wanted it back so they climed up in the three aswell. A small fight happed and the hyena's toke the leftovers but the lions had to give it to the leopard and had to back off because he was so fast and huge. nDzuti is in the Klaserie, and their part of the Klaserie is the real Africa!
My story is the luck of the day, but all stories made in Africa are great!
Don't doubt, go there!

About: Drifters
16 day Botwana tours, great company and fantastic guide.
5/5

I read their literature very carefully before taking this tour. That is essential to prepare yourself to enjoy a Drifters tour. It is not a 5 star, all catered tour, but a very good camping tour, where each of us has to help out with camp chores. Arnold, the guide we had was very knowledgable, and personable, not surprising when you consider that they have to do a two year course to pass the government guide exams, before being hired. He was also a very good cook. Like all group activities, it takes a couple of days for the group to get to know each other, and after a couple of days we all got along famously. The tour is well planned to let everyone see as much of the locales as possible, we even had a herd of elephants approach within about 20 feet before they ran away being startled by our presence. Anyone who does not enjoy a Drifters tour did not do their homework or has their expectations too high, these tours are not fancy nor luxurious, but depend on ones state of mind. Drifters says these tours are for the young to enjoy, but I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and have been retired for a few years now. I will also soon be going on my second tour to Namibia.
