African Safari Tour, June 2017
5/5

I had an absolutely marvellous time, filled with such great contrasts in the four key places I was fortunate enough to visit: Chobe National Park, Savute National Park, Okavango Delta and culminating in the wonderful Bwindi lodge in Uganda!

Every place I visited, the guides were superb and all staff were very helpful, bending over backwards to assist us at any time. The food and service was all excellent. The photo opportunities were continual and exciting, especially since every trip produced new experiences with such a variety of wildlife. The houseboat trip on Chobe River was great, especially since we had the use of the smaller motorised boats appointed with swivelling seats and gimbal heads on tripod stands to suit heavy lenses. Here we saw a variety of scenes played out and could get so close to the action onshore in the boat. Everything from sparring bull elephants to hippos, impala practising their fighting skills, mongoose and baboon family activities. The birds were wonderful and many different species were within our photographic sights on each trip.

The cheetahs were wonderful in Savute and lovely to see the giraffes practising their battle skills and a huge bull elephant walked right up to our vehicle and past us on his way. Lions were part of our photographic diet and zebra, impala, kudu and other antelopes were there. The birds were continually available, including many birds of prey and the beautiful hornbills and roller birds. The Magpie Shrike eating the mouse was terrific to witness as well.

At Okavango, I was treated to hippo feeding and an elephant sleeping just outside my tent lodge at 4.30 am, after having removed some branches from a nearby tree! Here we had marvellous canoe and boat trips as well as safaris each day allowing us to see a leopard feeding, wild dogs, lions, elephants, zebra, mongooses, wonderful storks and birds of prey etc.

The optional gorilla trip extension was wonderful, and although we needed to go on two hard treks to see them deep in the forest over two days, it was great to see how they live and interact in the wild. Then on the last afternoon we were treated to a return visit from one gorilla family which came right up out of the forest into our lodge grounds! The huge Silverback walked right past me on the pathway, so it was hard to keep the camera still as I was a bit nervous! Amazing way to end a terrific tour to Africa.

At all times we were able to get valuable assistance when required from our photography expert Alistair MacDougall, who showed amazing energy and dedication to the task of recording our trip both in video and photographs, as well as helping all participants to achieve the most out of all photo opportunities. Our trip manager, Gerald MacLaren was always pleasant and very helpful, preparing us for every part of the trip as we went.

The accommodation was excellent all round and I enjoyed staying in the tent camp at Savute as much as the higher class accommodation at the other three places. It was overall very good value for money, especially considering we had 6 hours of safari trips most days.

From the termites and butterflies to the squirrels, mongoose, gorillas and the biggest mammals (and of course the frogs and a nice snake I saw), I had a great time meeting a sample of Africa's wonderful wildlife.

Thank you all so much for providing this fantastic opportunity.

Incredible, bucket list trip for sure!
5/5

This trip met all of my expectations and more. Wild Destinations (Shaheen and Faheen) were incredible and so personable. We feel like they are friends for life! They both responded timely and accurately to my questions. We stayed at Fairmont which also was incredible. We stayed in tents that were just as nice as a five star resort! During our safari, Jonathan being our guide found every animal on the mara! He answered all of our questions and told us about things we didn't even know to ask. Just incredible. We WILL be back!

Repeat Customer
5/5

Repeat customer to both Kenya and Tanzania using Tersca Tours on 12 day safari visiting many new places with a few repeats.

Planning and communication with Peter, the owner , went smoothly and efficiently as he guided us in all details with adjustments made during the trip as requested by us.
The transfer at the border from one guide to another went smoothly. We were always in good hands.
Both guides, Comfort and Peter, were friendly, offered much info about their countries, the wildlife and the African lifestyle.
We stayed in a variety of lodging from a wilderness tented campground with a bucket shower to extremely deluxe tented accommodation on a hillside with spectacular view of Lake Nakuru and the city below. Superb Sunrise from our deck. Other locations offered great sunset views and from Kenya, a superb view of Mt.Kilimanjaro.

Peter, the owner, would often check in with us to be sure all was going well.

Abundance of wildlife in both countries. Each park has its own special ambiance.
I would suggest adding an extra day at several lodges rather then moving each day to enjoy the African warmth and friendliness .
Exciting , adventurous trip with excellent accommodations adjusted for ones budget.
In Nairobi, go to the Giraffe Center, Elephant Orphanage, Utamaduni Craft Center and the Bomas of Kenya show. All added to a wonderful Safari experience

Unforgettable Safari
5/5

Magufwa Safari's slogan is "Unforgettable safaris," and that is exactly what I was able to experience. I went with a group of 6 others (so 7 in total) to Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, andthe Ngorongoro Crater on a 4-day safari. On this trip, we were able to see all of the animals we came to see, and the entire experience itself was phenomenal as well. The administrative team at Magufwa Safaris does everything it can to ensure you have a great adventure, including an initial consultation meeting to figure out the best safari itinerary that meets your interests, budget, and number of people. Overall, I have recommended this company to many of my friends, and I hope they will all be able to experience the same amazing adventure and the excellent professionalism that Magufwa Safaris has to offer.

Exhilarating and adventurous safari with great lodges in the middle of the wilderness.
4/5

Our guide, David, was the most friendly guide we have ever had in any of our trips. He really got along well with the family and was able to provide us with information and his experiences on every stage of the trip. With his help, we were able to see the infamous Big 5 and many more animals. The lodges were spectacular and well located. The only drawback was the initial hotel stay at Arusha Inn which leaves a poor impression and at times, the sub-par safari car which needed servicing often.

It was simply awesome , fun filled , adventurous.
5/5

To start with David our driver cum Guide was really good. He had a lot of knowledge about each and every thing and very good conmunication skills. All the lodges where we stayed throughout the trip were very good. Good food , great weather and beautiful locations.
Only point of improvement is the Arusha inn where we stayed on day 1 and last night needs a lot of improvement.
