Genuine Safari Experience
5/5

This was our first safari and we got all we could have wished for. From the preparation to the execution, the entire experience was professional and relaxed. We got to see all of the animals, and Elemesi made sure we got the best viewing spots.

Every day was very flexible, we got to choose when we would wake up and where we would go and for how long. Overall we had a great, genuine safari experience and we would definitely recommend this tour operator.

Encounter Africa Safaris helped me to have an unforgettable adventure!
5/5

Before booking this trip, I did a lot of research on the different providers for gorilla treks. I noticed that Encounter Africa Safaris had uniformly excellent reviews. Having ultimately booked a trip through them, I can add my strong endorsement for their services!

It all starts with Chris in the front office! I wonder if he ever sleeps as he seemed to always respond to my emails within a very short time of my sending them. He was patient and helpful with my many questions.

The three day trip itself was wonderful. Hannington, my guide/driver, safely drove me from Kampala to the lodge in Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest. While the drive was 10-1/2 hours in length, including a lunch break, it was well worth it to see the beautiful and varied Ugandan countryside. The accommodations a Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge was in a stunning setting. While the room was simple, it was clean, comfortable and with an amazing view. Dinners were quite nice, and they will pack a lunch for you to take along on the gorilla trek.

The gorilla trek itself was the adventure of a lifetime. It was harder physically than I had expected, having had to climb some very steep slopes, but it was worth every minute. The one hour with the gorillas was something I will never forget. It is hard to put into words, but it was simply amazing to watch them in their natural habitat.

Hannington drove me to Kigali, Rwanda the next day. It is a little under five hours with beautiful scenery along the way. I think it was ideal to experience both Uganda and Rwanda during this three day trip!

My thanks to Encounter Africa Safaris for helping me to have an amazing experience!

Amazing vacation!
5/5

We couldn't choose a better Safari Agency. "Tanzania Roadside Expeditions" was perfect for us. Paul was always eager to answer all our questions and in a very fast way (I must say). It was like he was online all the time. :) We felt like we already have a friend, even we meet only when we get there.
We put so many questions (because for such an adventure there is a lot of logistics to set) but Paul answered very calmly to all. And the most important thing, he tried to find a solution to all our problems. Thank you, Paul, for everything! Asante sana!

Tanzania is a country that should be visited at least once in the life time (in my opinion) and if you are lucky to have Edwin to be your guide it will be perfect. Yes , you heard well: Edwin won our hearts! He is so kind, calm, friendly, sensible, patient. He also has a good heart! He is like an Encyclopedia. You will quickly understand that he is a very experienced guide. He helped us see all the things we wanted to see. You have to trust him and his abilities because he really knows what he's doing. But the most important thing it was that we felt all the time that we were in vacation with a very good friend. We will really miss you, Edwin! Nakutakia kila la heri!

About safari (it means Journey in swahili)...
We stayed 3 nights (4 days) in 3 different types of accomodation: Kudu Camp - Lodge (superb), Kati-Kati Tented Camp (best safari experience possible!) and Rhino Lodge (cosy and quiet).
The car (Toyota Land Cruiser modified) was very comfortable and very strong for those kind of roads.
Food: very good; european-american style but you find also local type of food.
Experience: fabulous! We saw all the animals and landscapes that we planned to see.
Logistics: transfer, contacts and all other things ran smoothly.

Tip: have patience and trust your guide!

Supreme Safari
5/5

From the very first moment I contacted Antony, the owner of this tour operator, I felt I could trust him. He always replied to my emails quickly and gave me good advices to deal with the safari I'd chosen. Moreover, even when there was a very small problem he showed his honest attitude: one of the lodges I was initially destined was full, so Antony upgraded me in a better one for free! He offered me free transfer from and back to the airport, making me save some money (a single transfer is 20- 25 $ from Nairobi). The minivan was very comfortable, clean and with new tyres, there's so little difference from a jeep (maybe you might just feel cooler!) The distances from a park to another one are quite long and exhausting in Kenya, but I always felt safe and in good hands thanks to his high skilled driver.
During this trip I learnt a lot, saw amazing animals, enjoyed unforgettable landscapes, met wonderful people, slept in fabulous lodges and ate healthy food. An experience that I will never forget. Thanks Antony, thanks Tazama Africa Holidays!

Above and Beyond ! Fantastic !
5/5

We partook in a 8 day safari and a with Mussa and his team in January. After researching and looking at his reviews we felt it would be a safe bet... and thankfully it was more than that!

Initially we arrived sick from zanzibar and he put us up in a room at no extra cost. Then Paul, our cook , accommodated us to no ends regarding food, which was also great. How he made that pastry pie in a steak pan I don't know.

As for the safari it was great. A Private tour was 100 times better than sharing. We had more freedom to stat longer and roam elsewhere. Even seen alone a lion hunt on a zebra!

Mussa went to great lengths to show us every animal and create a great experience. The man is a machine and dis not stop! I will be using him again when I come back.

On top of this all we changed our itinerary and stayed 2 more days for ol doinyo lengai hike at last minute. He happily sorted this all out and made our trip perfect

Thanks Mussa and team!

Gilmag is a group of responsive people, they always provided me with the information I needed in a timely manner. They care and were really helpful in finding me the right package to fit my budget including the best affordable accommodations during my whole trip. We had the most friendly guy as our tour guide and we drove in a well kept and most rugged SUV I have ever riden, the scenary the services were spectacular, I can't wait to go back.
