4 day Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara - an incredible experience!
I went on a 4 day safari in Kenya. I started from Nairobi, spent one day at Lake Nakuru before continuing to Maasai Mara and then back to Nairobi after two days there.
The team picked me up at the airport, helped me exchange money and get a SIM card.
Once I had all I needed Charles, my driver and guide, started our trip. Charles is a fantastic person: really nice, explained me a lot about the country, knew where to find and how to spot animals and to predict their movements so that I had an amazing view of them and he was happy to adjust our schedule to my preferences. He was able to turn the trip into a once in a lifetime experience!
Besides that, all the accommodations were great with amazing service and really good food.
The team of It Started in Africa responded to all mails within 24 hours and were great in setting up what I was looking for while taking specific wishes into consideration.
A huge thank you especially to Charles, my driver and guide, and also to the whole team of It Started in Africa!

Excellent safari & great guide at affordable price
The experience was great, we booked a 4day Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru trip and we loved it. Robert offered for us to be picked up in Kisumu, something that no other company did. We paid a deposit in advance and the rest to the guide. Arony, the guide and driver, was great. He went the extra mile at all times to make sure we could see all the animals, he accepted all our requests to stop every ten seconds to take pictures, and he knew all sorts of things about the animals. I would definitely reccommend him and Karibu for any safari experience.

Really experienced leader and amazing adventure. He knows the secret spots where to find wildlife!
Dave knows a lot about wildlife and how to educate the tourist to enjoy the experience the maximum! It takes a very experienced leader to be able to live in the middle of the wild life and enjoy it. Food was great and every day was incredible! Super well equiped and organised.
Make sure you take a good camera, because you will spot the most amazing animals and even tiny beautiful birds you cant miss! I would definetly recommend Exclusive Wilderness Trails. You will get a way better price and feel exclusive!

Fantastic Safari
We enjoyed a fantastic and memorable 10-day safari with Tekko Tour. From our first email contact with Tekko Tours, we felt welcome and in excellent hands. Carol was instrumental in helping us plan our trip. She customized our itinerary to fit our needs, always answering our many inquiries and requests timely and with the most patient, professional and kind attitude.
We ended up visiting 6 national parks and managed to see the Big Five and many more beautiful animals. Our driver Jackson was amazing, always working to ensure that each game drive was filled with new animal sightings. One of our highlights was observing a Cheetah hunt. His seemingly endless efforts in showing us Kenya made this safari a great and successful tip. Jackson’s knowledge of the animals, local areas, history was never ending. He seemed to know just about everything and everybody in Kenya.
Thank you Tekko Tours, especially Carol and Jackson for a memorable trip. We highly recommend you.

Review about Queen Elizabeth National Park by Jeroen
When you are floating close to the shores of the big lakes you'll see lots of beautiful birds. We saw many elephants, some lions and big number of Uganda cobs. Although the bush vibe and the scenic beauty are a bit less because of the road running through a part of the park.

Review about Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by Jeroen
We hiked for several hours in Bwindi to find and spend time with the gorillas, which we did, it was amazing! Its great to walk through a jungle. You can't get much more bush vibe than this. We did not see much other wildlife though. Maybe because we did not search for it.

Review about Namib-Naukluft National Park by Maarten Elings
This is truly a must-see in Namibia. It was our first experience with the desert in our lives and it was absolutely breath-taking.
Start your days early (the ground temperature can rise to 80°C) and visit the Deadvlei, Sossusvlei and climb the Dune 45 (before 11:00, because of the exposure and heat).
Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. The view from Dune 45 is astonishing. It gives a broad overview of the area and you’ll be able to see the massive Big Daddy and Big Momma dunes.
An advice we learned while visiting: if you go early enough then climb it on your bare feet. If you can’t make it to the dune early in the morning then climb it while wearing socks.
The soft sand makes it hard to walk on either sneakers or walking shoes.
Most campsites have waterholes for the Oryx’s. In our case we had one just a few meters from our cottage so during the day (and especially the night!) it was swarming with desert foxes and Oryx’s.
If there is a pool near your campsite/cottage then make sure to visit it at night. It usually attracts thirsty wildlife.

A multiday adventure in Namibia
When visiting Etosha, try to plan your stay for several days. the park has multiple camps (with bungalows and tent places) from where you can discover the wild life of Etosha.
The Etosha N.P. has several waterholes which, during drought, are roamed by zebra's, giraffes, lions, rhino buffalo, leopards and so on. All these waterholes are near the roads making this is almost a guarantee to see a great variety of animals.
I was in Etosha for 4 days and stayed for the first days at the Okaukuejo camp. On the campsite is a large swimming pool and small stores where you can buy food, drinks and books about the park and animal recognition.
During the day I joined various safari's where you follow the dirt road at slow pace and hold at every waterhole.
This campsite also has its own waterhole. My advice is to visit it after sunset. Its easily accessible and the spectator area is on a rocky hill giving a beautiful overview of the waterhole and area.
This was our first encounter with a leopards who came for a drink.
My second destination was the Halali-camp which also has its own large waterhole. During the day I (obviously) went on safari where we found a pride of Lions. In the evening we went on a 3
5-hour night safari where you go off the road with jeeps and red flashlights.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and will go there again in the future.

What an Amazing Beautiful and Friendly Country!
Uganda is an amazingly beautiful country! With nice accommodations, beautiful scenery and great variation. From the savannah landscapes of Elizabeth National Park, to the great lakes with and the jungle of the impenetrable forest of Bwindi.
The wildlife is great, with the Mountain Gorillas but with also many other different kind of species like Chimpanzees, Hippo's, Uganda cobs, Lions and even Leopards. Some more abundant then others of course.
Uganda does also have a very rich birdlife.
I expected lots of rain but even when we were there, in the rainy season, the number of days we had rain were very limited. We had great weather with a lot of nice and sunny days.
The people in Uganda have good English skills and are really very friendly.
Only the roads could use a big upgrade. Prepare to have some bumpy rides!
