Safari operator met all our expectations.
5/5

I had done a lot of research on-line for what we wanted to see on our safari and written back and forth with several operators. We selected Tanzania Roadside Expeditions because Paul was always prompt and very good at communicating with us and open to changes in the itinerary.
We shuttled from Nairobi. Despite the slow border crossing (same with flying) it was an interesting trip with the mix of people on the bus. When we arrived in Arusha, we were met and taken to our hotel. Paul and our driver/guide Justin later met with us to review he itinerary which was a great idea to avoid any misunderstandings later. It was exactly as planned, 5 days of safari, flight Seronera to Zanzibar and all arrangements in Zanzibar.
We were very pleased with Justin. He was a pleasure to talk with for 5 days and very determined for us to have the best safari possible. Having planned this during the dry season, we had a lot of rain. I would estimate 1”/day. This did make some roads inaccessible, even in a Land Cruiser. The driving was an adventure. Highlights were the Ngorongoro Crater and thousands of wildebeest migrating. Justin always allowed us to set the pace we wanted with animal viewings.
Zanzibar was the perfect wind down to the trip. There were a few glitches with the driver not having all details correct, but it all worked out. Zanzibar was much more mellow than I anticipated. Our guide for walking tour, Moharam, was a retired teacher with wisdom and a sense of humour. After 2 nights in Stone Town we transferred to the beach for a few nights in Matemwe. Life is good.

We saw most of the big animals in this park: elephants, buffalos and lots of other species: monkeys and lots of birds.
Wild animals did not seem to be disturbed by the noise and traffic of the so many cars, but there was always this sense of wilderness because of the thick bushes.
One is never sure of what could come out of the bush.

My overall impression is that the habitat of the wild animals have not been transformed by the humans in a way as to change its nature totally.
Because of this preservation of the natural habitat of the wild life, my overall rating is: Excellent.

Way better than what I have seen in school, TV, or in the media. Truly an experience of a lifetime.

About: Uganda
An African experience that went above all expectations
Overall rating
5/5

After my 3 day Uganda Gorilla trek I was so impressed with my guide and the magnificent Mountain gorillas, that I immediately booked a 10 day Uganda wildlife experience so that I could enjoy what the rest of Uganda had to offer, as well as take a second visit to the gorillas. Everything was fabulous, including Murchison Falls, the Nile Cruise, chimpanzee tracking at Kibale National Park and the tree lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park. My guide was fantastic and encouraged me to stay in Uganda for the full Ugandan experience and I’m so glad I did.

About: Botswana
Amazing boat cruise down the Chobe River through Botswana!
Overall rating
5/5

We went on safaris through Kruger National Park, South Africa prior to Botswana’s Chobe National Park. Both safaris offer amazing game spotting but Botswana is unique as it included a boat ride on the Chobe River. The animals are abundant and you really don’t have to look too hard to spot them. Botswana provides a glimpse of the fascinating lives of game that inhabit the Chobe River and the surrounding area, especially the plethora of birds. If you are a bird watcher, you will be in heaven! The boat ride through the Chobe river in the morning followed by mid-day lunch break was the highlight of our trip. The river scenery is beautiful and serene. The afternoon safari in a 4WD was a bit rough as the dirt roads are more rugged and less paved but that also adds to the experience. Our driver and operator were also patient and professional. We recommend Botswana for a well-rounded safari experience!

Great first time safari for someone who hasn't done one before
Overall rating

The safari exceeded my expectations and made me want to do another one. This was really reasonably priced, and everything about it was awesome. The chalet I stayed in had a good ac unit, and was modern. The lodge and staff were very friendly, it even had a pool. The food was good. The driving wasn't far to Kruger park, and the guides were very observant and professional trying to show us everything we wanted to see. I managed to see all the big 5, and then some. I would recommend getting the morning drive on the 3rd day, it was worth it. This is a good safari experience, specifically if you are someone on a budget. If you have a bigger budget to do it big, maybe staying in the park would give you more opportunity to see the awesome animals.

About: Tanzania
Fantastic experience, living for few days so close to wild animals in their natural environment.
Overall rating
5/5

Our first time to go for a safari, so we did not know what to expect despite all the readings about safari. For the 35th anniversary of our marriage we decided to go on a "luxury" safari to have the best experience possible and we have not been disappointed.
Weather was the right time, no rain during the 5 days of safari, observing the migration of the wilderbeasts (largest migration of mammals on the planet) with its lots of carnivores and other meat-eaters.
The whole trip was planned very professionnally from day#1 to the end, driving on 4 wheel drive by a top-class guide handling both the safe driving, extraordinary knowledge of animals world, professionnal and friendly service attitude. 2 Hotels used as stopover were of excellent quality and the life camp in Serengeti among the animals was just outstanding in terms of confort, food and service, in the middle of nowhere.
Game drives in serengeti, observing the birth on baby wilderbeast, hunting of wilderbeast in daytime by a pride of lions, remains of wilderbeast being fought for by lots of hyenas, all those things that we see only on TV and that we watched live.
Return to Arusha by plane instead of road was just the right thing to do after all these days of thrill.
