Absolutely fantastic
This is the second time we have used Explorer Kenya and on both trips we have not been disappointed. Rather than taking one of their package tours we opted to arrange our own accommodation and itinerary, and simply asked for the services of a guide/driver and an all terrain vehicle for a week.
Robert, who runs/?owns the business is highly reliable, flexible and a good communicator so it was extremely easy to arrange our trips by email and have them confirmed prior to entering the country.
Both trips included three or four nights in the Maasai Mara staying at Julia’s River Camp, which is a great mid-budget camp, on the banks of the Talek River within the park itself. There is nothing too much trouble for the staff there to ensure your comfort, and I would thoroughly recommend a visit there.
Our driver on safari has always been Dan Kim. Not only is he an excellent driver; calm, unflappable and very conscious of his clients comfort over some of worlds biggest potholes and the most challenging traffic jams around Nairobi, but he is also a fantastic guide / bodyguard / translator and ultimately friend. My daughters were so impressed with his encyclopaedic knowledge of Kenya’s flora, fauna, people’s and their cultures that they desperately tried to find questions he was unable to answer - they failed! Dan has a very pleasant and unassuming personality and was always prompt, courteous, smiling and a great travelling companion. If you need a guide I would unreservedly recommend him.
With thanks to Dan we saw all the animals and birds we could have dreamed of, and learnt so much more about their habits, lives (and deaths!)
Kenya is a land of contrasts - geographically, climatically, culturally and economically. It’s was therefore more than just interesting to travel to a steamy Kisumu on Lake Victoria, up-to the fresh cool Highlands of the Mau and down to the lakes of the Rift Valley. It was really an unforgettable trip.

7 night/8 day Lemosho Kilimanjaro
We feel so fortunate to have found Crater Explorer Tours And Safaris. We arrived in Arusha with plans to both climb Mt Kilimanjaro and do a safari. We interviewed several tour organizations and opted to go with Crater because of the confidence we felt in their representative Emanuel. He was professional, attentive and answered all our myriad questions.
We had a magical adventure. The crew that took us on our Kilimanjaro climb was fabulous. I’m not sure how it could have been better. Our guide, the chef and the porters were wonderful. They were fun. They were professional and surpassed all our expectations. Every time we arrived at camp, our tent was set up complete with covered alcove with table and chairs. Hot drinks and a snack were served straight away. Such a great way to end a big hike. Hot water for washing came next followed by the main meal. Speaking of food - we bought a bunch of snacks prior to leaving anticipating wanting to have something to snack on while hiking. We never got into it as they fed us remarkably well. Too well almost. There was always so much good food we feared putting weight on during the climb!
I would highly recommend Crater Explorer Tours And Safaris for all your adventurous needs in Tanzania. 5 Star for sure!

He is always there to advice you when you need to travel and pick calls at odd hours.His support is on another level always checking on your departure and arrival and the stay on the hotel. Amazing safari experience with a beautiful landscape and so many animals
We booked with Paul quiet last minute and had many questions. Paul was very flexible and was replying very quickly and providing us with all information we needed.
The safari experience was amazing. We have seen so much in 5 days including the big 5 going to Taranguire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The landscape was just amazing too.
Our guide Justin was very professional and had an eye of an eagle spotting animals from far and bringing us closer to them with some interesting facts about all of them. He knows the area very well and on top was very easy going and fun to spend time with.
The accommodation were all good but Kubu Kubu was really the highlight!
We definitely can recommend a safari to Tanzania with Tanzania roadside as they exceeded our expectations.
We also felt safe while traveling.

My dream safari became a reality! 2020 Xmas!
Engabi Tours and Travel organized our (my daughter and I) safari to Murchision National Park in a very short time.
Communication was very good from the beginning till the end.
The game drive was superb, thanks go to Vincent the Tour Guide who was very good to us. The boat cruise was nice except that the rain disorganized us. The visit to the top of the falls was splendid.
The accommodation was very nice and the food was really good!
We also visited the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. It was a very nice experience.
I loved every bit about about our safari.
All in all, everything went very very well. If I have to go on safari again, I’ll not hesitate to let Engabi Tours and Travel organize my trip!
