8 days Samburu - Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha
5/5

We are a family of four including two children of 12 and 15 years. Planning the trip took a while as many companies offer safari tours. We decided to travel with KWSS due to excellent reviews here and on Tripadvisor and due to very fast and good communication with Mr. Otieno. KWSS also ended up with the best offer in the end, so it can be worth negotiating the price and accommodation styles. We ended up staying at Samburu game lodge, Lake Nakuru sopa lodge, Oserolodge and Naivasha kongoni lodge – all very excellent places to stay!
Our driver David picked us up in the airport and drove us to our good hotel in Nairobi (Mimosa court apartments). The next 4 days we had long drives in the van as the distance to Samburu and further to lake Nakuru and Masai Mara took longer than stated in the programme due to bad roads (plan 8 hours each way, not 5). However, you see a lot of Kenya on the way. We had great game drives in Samburu – a park very different from Masai Mara. Also good game around lake Nakuru (no flamingoes anymore though) and excellent game in Masai Mara. David was a very experienced and friendly guide, who could answer all questions we had.
We visited the Masai village and it was actually a great experience for us as a family. Yes – the sell stuff, but we don’t mind bringing home a souvenier and the money goes to the village. We payed entrance fee 20 $ per adult and 10 $ per child (after some negotiation). The walk in Hells gate was great also.
All in all 5 stars to KWSS! If you bring children younger than 12 I would consider doing less driving/fewer places to visit.

Cheated out of $3300
1/5

They took our money but never returned our phone calls or emails, and never picked us up or tried to contact us while we were in Tanzania.

We heard rumors of financial insolvency and bankruptcy, but were never able to verify that. Nonetheless, we know we never got to go on our tour...

That said, we ended up finding a great company and having a great time, so at least that worked out.

Fantastic Vacation
5/5

“Fantastic vacation”

African Adventure Specialists is the best tour operator in East African for anyone interested in a african safari. We planned a trip at the last minute in the peak season and AAS pulled and amazing vacation for us! We wanted a custom 14 days kenya & tanzania holiday, staying in luxury hotels and lodges. We had a private tour with our own 4x4 landcruiser and a Driver for the entire trip and we saw the big five in both countries. Masai mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro were the climax of our safari. Because we had time, we were able to see most of the scenic areas that are stunningly beautiful in these countries. I definetely recommend African Adventure Specialists and the entire team lead by Andrew and Tobiko for a wonderful and affordable vacation. For anyone interested in visiting these countries kindly get in touch with AAS. Andrew is honest and will plan a vacation of a lifetime for you!

We did a 4 day safari with Wildebeest and their guide Dennis. Best experience ever
5/5

The communication with the manager was swift and relevant all the time. Our guide Dennis managed to track down more animals than we ever thought was possible. When i had a tooth issue, a plane, dentist appointment was arranged and executed within Hours. I can strongly recommend Wildebeest.

Absolutely Brilliant!
5/5

From beginning to end we were VERY well cared for. Email communication was fast, efficient, and thorough as we planned the trip. In country the local manager made sure to greet us in person at the beginning and end of the safari, and also checked in by phone with us during the trip. Our accommodations throughout our 9 day safari were exactly what we wanted, and according to budget.

Safaris in Tanzania are not recommended for people who need everything to go exactly as planned at all times; it's just not realistic. The roads are "washboard style", the vehicles take a beating, the days are long, and the dust is extreme ... stuff happens, so you have to be willing to go with the flow and let it be part of the adventure.

While on safari our guide, Kelvin, was a delight, and very skilled at managing any challenge that presented itself. Funny, bright, knowledgeable, committed to safety, and ever so patient with our endless questions.,, we could not have been happier. One thing we especially appreciated was that he didn't push to make sure we saw "the big five". We wanted to see what we could see, and see it well, but we weren't collecting numbers. In the end, we wound up seeing SO MUCH MORE than we had ever hoped for. He was especially great at helping us identify birds, and letting us watch their behavior for long periods when we desired.

Great trip
5/5

I needed to get away from the harsh Toronto winter. Tanzania was the best destination on the equator line. Henry had exceptional service from the airport to the 10 day safari. I will be book the other Henry again next year.
