Switched on in Africa
5/5

from the time I first got in touch with Jude at Masihambe there was communication when ever I needed information and or even to tell her I had started my countdown at -6months. Then all the communication and help with the visas was great as we were going two weeks prior to the Safari.

Once we were picked up by Anthony we were living the dream. All lodgings, camps, tours and excursions was taken care of. Every type of accommodation was a wow factor and all the time the question was asked " how did you find this place?" Excellent food whether in fabulous lodges or over wood fires (3 course meals!!!) and our needs attended to by friendly helpful staff, cooks, and guides.

Our main guide through the trip was Anthony - amazing knowledgeable person in all things Africa from wildlife to flora and fauna, border diplomacy and crossing to head chef, looking after our group of eight between 60-75 year olds. Such a great sense of humour and stories
to tell while round the... Read more camp fire. He and all the guides amazed us at their ability to spot game in long grass that non of us could see, to leopards and snakes up trees, so well camouflaged. Without the guides I am sure we would have missed half of the big five and the smaller creatures and birds that no-one knew of before the trip.

This Safari tour is highly recommend and tops for value for money.

Excellent experience with karibu safaris
5/5

It was an wonderfull five days in Masai mara along with Robert , Edward and william. We have enjoyed the over all trip and many thanks to Edward for showing us the big five. He is a nice, friendly person and have good knowledge over the forest. Also I will mention the name of William , the care taker of the mara camp who is one of the best person I have met in the trip. It was a budget safari but food and accomodatios are really good. Only the decasa hotel is not upto the standard though it was not in the contract. Also the food in transit kenya hotel was average. Finally it is Mr Robert who always supported us through timely communications and advices to make it a successful trip. I will recommend to go ahead with this team to get the smell of Africa.

outstanding and highly professional service
5/5

I live in Australia and felt it was a big risk using a travel agent in another country but did so because of reviews on Trip Advisor form foreigners who had done the same - best thing I've done in along time!!
My consultant was Tammy Harding who replied to my email the same day, after that it was just more of the same excellent level of service in all aspects.
Tammy gave us options we hadn't considered, made the necessary arrangements and kept in contact whenever needed.
Our holiday exceeded our expectations and Tammy played a major role in all of it, we cannot wait to do this again and I will go straight to Pembury and hopefully Tammy again.

The people are friendly - there are two major wildlife areas - Mlilwane Wildlife Reserve and the Hlane Royal National Park - that are both worth visiting. There are a range of good accommodation options available.

I AM SURE I MADE AN EXCELLENT DECISION WHEN I DECIDED TO MAKE THIS SAFARI WITH KILI SERENGETI
5/5

IT HAS BEEN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE.
I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRAVEL TO MANY PLACES, BUT THIS KIND OF TRIP IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS "OUT OF THIS WORLD", IT IS AMAZING. EVERYDAY WE WERE SURPRISED FOR SOMETHING NEW, A NEW EXPERIENCE, A NICE VIEW OF LANDSCAPE, SOMETHING DIFFERENT OF THE ANIMALS, DELIGHTFUL SUNRISES AND AMAZING SUNSETS, AND I INSIST, MAKING THIS TRIP WITH KILI SERENGETI WAS FOR SURE A VERY GOOD DECISION

3 weeks of adventure
5/5

One of three couples at the Boathouse Cafe spoke about Masihambe Afrika and such was the mood of the group we all decided to join one of their safaris - but unfortunately one couple had to pull out. We lucky four remaining had the experience of a lifetime. On 18th June we met the other 4 members of our group - we were 6 Kiwis and 2 Americans. Then it was off>>>
We from Nelson had worked in Africa so had some knowledge of what to expect, but time had made us forget the distances we had to travel. Fortunately we had "Ant", our guide was a motorist, a chef, a raconteur, and a passionate and knowledgeable lover of African game and bush. I cannot believe any guide could be better, and he really made the trip exceptional.

Our 26 day trip took us through Kruger National Park, then across to Mapungubwe. After that we entered Zim and enjoyed Matopos, Hwange and Vic Falls – poor old Zim has been held back do much thanks to Mugabe. Then we entered Botswana, Africa’s secret,... Read more and spent some rugged days around the North of that beautiful, untouched country. We re-entered South Africa with 3 days to go spending the first couple in Tuli Game Reserve and the rest just motoring back to our start point.

We saw all types of wild animals and wilderness, and all in fine, if cold, weather. The Safari company was brilliant providing the 8 of us tourists with all manner of comforts and fine food even in the middle of nowhere!

This was truly a trip to remember!

Excellent Safari off of the beaten tourist tracks
5/5

We had a great safari with Grassroots. We booked a pre-defined package and saw Udzungwa, Ruaha and Mikumi. The idea was to see the parks and areas of Tanzania that were not flooded with tourists. This worked quite well. With Yunus we did have a very knowledgable guide and a very safe driver. Both of which is of the utmost importance. Since we were traveling on a tight budget we chose a "camping-safari" and Grassroots delivered. All in all we thought it was too much driving but the country is huge and so are the distances. Since we started and ended in Daressalam we lost almost two of our six days for very long driving days. In the future we would think about that twice and plan differently. On the other hand we did get a good impression of the real Tanzania with its little villages and how people really live.

Grassroots is a small company and transfering money via international alley into local tanzanian accounts is not always easy and needs some trust in the unknown as well as... Read more bringing lots of dollars in cash but it was worth it. We would recommend to use some other form of international accepted payment like Paypal or the like. This would make thinks much easier for your customers and would safe you a lot of money in currency exchange and hustle.

Anyways - all in all we would definitely recommend Grassroots for the more southern part of beautiful Tanzania.

Outstanding travel experience arranged by Tammy at Pembury!
5/5

We are currently on the last night of our 18day adventure arranged by Tammy at Pembury tours and have been very impressed. Generally I am the one in the family arranging the logistics of our travels so I do have a background knowledge of the intricacies of putting together an itinerary. Having Tammy as our travel consultant was a trip saver. She seemlessly and, apparently, effortlessly handled some unique challenges such as a regional airline losing flight certification 2 weeks prior to our departure as well as an emergency airline booking issue not due to Pembury. She guided us in the right direction by dividing 4 days of safari between 2different game reserves—each with its own unique experience. In addition, she arranged for a day trip to Chobe which was complimentary to our outstanding Timbavati and Sabi Sands adventures. (Simbavati had great facilities with a most cohesive service oriented staff while Idube had rich safari sightings with an expert guide, Owen). Tammy understood our desires for lodging with a lovely final stay at Jo’berg at The Residence.
Highly recommend Tammy and Pembury!

Fabulous From Start to Finish
5/5

It all started with the exceptional communication between Charles and myself when setting up and booking our trip. Since all of the planning was done through email, it was extremely appreciative that Charles was so responsive. I had a lot of questions and he NEVER made me feel like I was a problem. We were met at the airport by Newton and from that moment we were delighted by the personalized service Classic Journeys provided. Each of our guides (drivers) was professional, knowledgeable, and communicated clearly. They were excellent. The lodges, food, game drives were all beyond expectation. We spent a lot of time in our jeep. To put it in the most positive way, we saw a lot of the African countryside, the people, and the road conditions :). Once in a lifetime trip. Thank you Classic Journeys Africa.
