Our time in Tanzania with Richard was wonderful; he's a great animal spotter!
5/5

Our tour was organized by Aslan Adventures in Nairobi. At the border between Kenya and Tanzania we changed to Richard as our driver/guide. Our time with Richard was very good. He was quiet but congenial; he was punctual, polite, very helpful with my somewhat disabled husband, and always patient with my not-always-punctual family. . . He was outstanding at spotting animals. He found leopards when we'd have completely missed them! We saw so many animals!!! We had wonderful days with Richard. The vehicle was always clean and running well; his driving was great! It was an overall amazing and delightful experience for all four of us.

About: Zimbabwe
Fantastic Trip
Overall rating
5/5

The safari experience in Zimbabwe was absolutely wonderful. I’ve been on three prior safaris in a different country and have to say this trip exceeded my expectations. The wildlife was plentiful, the scenery changed from place to place, and the guides were very knowledgeable and informative. Accommodations were great, and the food was fantastic. Had I eaten everything that was served, I would have easily gained 10 pounds in 10 days! As it was, I had to ask for smaller portions so as to not waste food. There was also a good cultural component, so be sure to ask about visits to nearby schools and villages. The camps I used were secluded enough that there were often no other vehicles in sight, so it was just our vehicle and the wildlife. Since other vehicles went out from the camps, they must plan different routes to avoid the “zoo” type of feeling. I would highly recommend Zimbabwe to anyone wishing to experience a good safari.

Go "Worry Free" with GTD (Go Touch Down)!
5/5

For an "Adventure of a Lifetime" Don't Think Twice. Book it!  I love to make my own travel plans, but in places where they drive on the opposite side of the road & limited wi-fi, why not go worry free.  From the time we met Angie at the travel show with her enthusiasm & pictures (that really were accurate photo's of our adventures), to the phone conversations with Dana's knowledge, organization & fun planning our signature tour, and than the excellent helpful African guides like James, Bill & Fredrick, I say, think about the time of year you want to go for your best experience and than "just book it"!

Some tips that I think might be helpful:  Wifi is available at several places, but usually it's by the resort lobbies or restaurants.Print or take pictures of the vouchers & itinerary  found on the web site before you go. Enjoyed the small 5-6 group size. Much easier for the guide to accommodate everyone and would have been impossible on a big bus tour.  Consider going a few days early with the signature tour for the cultural excursions. Lessedi, Mandala day in Joburg, Cradle of Mankind, interaction with the elephants (we even fed & got a kissed from an elephant). All of these were so worth the extra time & money.

Prepare for a wonderful culinary experience. The meals are 4 to 5 star. A great time to try the ostrich & other African dishes.  We loved the true dirt road safari experience at Humala vs the commercialism of Kruger. Over exceeded our expectations for the animal & nature lover that I am. In October we were able to see several babies. For city lovers, you will love how they were able to pack so many adventures into the few days in Cape Town. The wait to get up to Table Mt was well worth it, Penguins, Seal Island, Wharf area, wineries & more. Consider the add on Vic Falls adventure. Not just for the falls but waking up to zebras outside your resort window, seeing herds of wild elephants, & interacting with the people from Zambia & Zimbabwe. We liked the low water season of the falls vs high water that you need to wear rain gear. The guides & resort staff helped us contact the African GTD contacts to answer any questions we had while in Africa,   THANKS GTD for the memories & pictures of a lifetime".

Incredible experience in South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe
5/5

For our honeymoon, Emma at Ker & Downey planned a 16 day trip for us including stays in the wine country near Stellenbosch, Cape Town, two safari camps in Botswana, a camp in Zimbabwe, and then finally Johannesburg. The whole trip was seamless and every day was as near perfect as one could hope for. We loved the experience and can't wait to go back!

A great experience!
5/5

My friend and I used Kalahari Marsh Safari services for a Mokoro day-trip in Botswana.
Lucky, the operator (but really much more than that), was extremely accommodating and thoughtful throughout my communication with him while still in my home country.
The evening prior to our scheduled trip he came to visit us at the lodge we stayed in. The nicest guy you'll meet! He informed us about the details of his suggested trip and wanted to know our thoughts, specific interests and requirements, food/drink preferences, etc. I was highly impressed of how thoughtful he was of every small detail (!), and that he really wanted to tailor the trip for us and to our complete satisfaction.
The following morning he showed up with his team to pick us up to the Mokoro station. During the drive, Lucky and I discussed everything from the planned trip, to culture, politics, religion, race, nature, etc. I really treasure these conversations, from which I learned a lot.
At the Mokoro station, Lucky informed our poler about our interests and wishes, and then waited at the station for our return. Indeed, the poler was great! very pleasant, knowledgeable and informative. He really took Lucky's notes to heart and fulfilled our hopes and expectations.
I'll definitely recommend Lucky's services to anyone who's interested in a Safari. I doubt that you can find a more thoughtful and friendly service that is really tailored for you.

It was a nice experience I had
5/5

I want to pass my sincere gratitude to all the fraternity of Mangi Empire safaris for the nice touring experience I had from them. It was one of it's kind. The safety I was given since my arrival until my departure, I had a nice collaboration with the guides whom I toured with them all through my visit. I already miss them all. I hope to revisit soonest.

An amazing, unforgettable journey
5/5

The trip overall was a great experience. The bungalows were nice and clean, the food was amazing and our guide, Sue was very helpful and kind. She made sure we had everything we needed. With her extended knowledge of the nature and the wildlife she had answers to all our questions. The whole trip was very well organized and we felt safe and looked after.

Excellent in Planning
5/5

i had a plan climbing mount Kenya during my summer holiday. I came cross many companies on the internet but i settled on this company. I commend them for the great planning especially their guide Vincent who help in in planning my Safaris and making sure that I enjoy the mountain safaris. I'm planning to take another safaris with them mostly Masai Mara that they suggested and I really love the package. The team are friendly and able to allow correction which to me I think is positive.

Exciting and well organized day tour climbing Kilimanjaro
5/5

We were so glad to pick Taste of Afrika for this day-tour around Kilimanjaro. Seka picked us up on time from our hotel in Arusha and drove us to Moshi, where we improvised to stop for a very necessary taste of local coffee, before starting our way to the mountain. There we met Benjamin, our guide, who was as kind and fun as Seka and made the experience very entertaining. We got to see some monkeys on the way up!! We were also given a deserved meal box after the (moderate) effort to reach Mandara Hut. Finally, we were returned to our hotel in Arusha to wrap up an exciting day.
