My Aug 2016 trip
5/5

You did an excellent job with our itinerary , We had an excellent trip and felt we were particularly lucky with sightings at the first three camps/lodges due to the expertise of our driver, Stanford.
We were particularly pleased that once an animal had been spotted we were able to observe at leisure and have wonderful memories of a very restive leopard in a tree. We watched for about half an hour as he tried to find a comfy spot and walked up and down and all around the tree. Having our own vehicle really made a difference.

Fantastic time in Uganda with Home To Africa Tours and travel.
5/5

In June, I , my wife and my 4 children planned to make a trip to Africa, we urgued on which country to go to. My elder son suggested Uganda . We contacted several companies regarding our trip to Uganda but we selected Home To Africa Tours and Travel company because of the way were packages were setup, had a unique approach to packaging of tours and their budget was affordable.
My family and I have just returned from a two week trip round southwestern Uganda (Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Lake Mburo). Our driver/guide, Paul, was a fount of knowledge, a superb driver and a real pleasure to be with for the whole of the trip. We have come back keen to visit other parts of Uganda in the future and would definitely go to Home To Africa Tours and Travel Again . We already miss Uganda. we will surely send more of our friends to Home To Africa Tours and Travel.

Our first experience in Uganda
5/5

Its still like a dream , I cant believe all that I saw in a wonderful small country Uganda.
Home To Africa Tours and Travel took amazing care of us throughout our three day excursion. They were also incredibly helpful in getting the safari set up and having all bookings taken care of for us in advance. I searched on google for almost most tour companies in uganda, we selected Home to Africa Tours and travel because their budget was affordable and they were so fast and quick at responding to your emails and all the questions. Elephants, giraffe, deer, antelope, warthogs, hippopotamus, crocodiles, hyena, lion, beautiful birds, and a leopard. It was incredible! The boat ride up the nile to Murchison Falls is a must do and a perfect way to end the tour. I Did not have any Idea on how beautiful Uganda is . wow, I highly recommend Home to Africa Tours and travel for anyone who is interested in adventuring Uganda to its fullest .

Want a once in a lifetime trip that also helps a local primary school? Book Gatatu today!
5/5

We decided to go see the gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda for our honeymoon, best decision ever! My husband searched online ad nauseam for the best deals and we were so lucky/thankful we stumbled across Gatatu tours! The owner, Richard, was such a pleasure to work with. He always replied to the endless questions we had and really helped us personalize our trip. Per our request, we even got to meet the kids he helps support. We loved the questions the kiddos had for us and were very impressed with all the plans Richard has for the school (his passion and dedication to these kids is truly inspiring!). As for the main attraction, I can't talk up seeing the gorillas enough! It was such a humbling and amazing experience. I was thrilled to learn how gorilla tourism is not only helping the gorilla population slowly bounce back but the Rwandan & Ugandan governments are also giving portions of the money made from gorilla tourism back to local communities through infrastructure. So if you want to fill your half empty cup, help out the gorillas and local communities including Richard's primary school, warm your heart with a once in a lifetime experience PLUS take some unbelievable photos, then Gatatu safaris is the best option for you! As previous people have commented, they require a wire transfer to book the trip (this is not uncommon, we did the same for a prior trip to Tanzania). Richard is 100% trustworthy and I would be more than willing to answer any questions you may have about the process (or share some of my favorite gorilla pics with you!). Feel free to email me. Bottom line, my advice is to book Gatatu today and then prepare yourself for an unforgettable trip!!! Thanks again Gatatu Safari and keep up the amazing work!

Paula was exceptionally patient with the planning - more so than me and I was the convener. The trip was balanced, smooth, exceptional in every way and this was my fifth trip to Africa. I will come back only if Paula plans my trip!

5/5

We have just returned from the Mara.

May I thank you for organising and sorting all the trip for us. It was unbelievable

The camp was nice for the price we paid and the people were friendly and helpful with no hiccups. Just what we wanted

I have to give a special mention to David the guide and driver. He is an absolute credit to you and I would not have wanted anyone else. Not only did he get us in positions from a photographic point of view he sourced everything we would have wanted to see. To add to that he was one of the most easy going most genuine guys we could of hoped for. He really did make the trip for us.

Thank you again and if you can pass the feed back to Dave also I would appreciate

Many thanks and I will return

Safari with kids!
5/5

We're a family of five (three boys, 15, 13 and 12) living in the US and I'd been trying to arrange a safari that encompassed the Masai Maara and finding that many of the tour operators here in the US thought our budget was just not enough to accomplish that. I came across Transtrek and had a quick email exchange with Daniel and he felt that our budget was absolutely enough for a few days there and, with kids in tow, visiting other parks would keep the kids engaged anyway. What great advice! Daniel managed to create an itinerary that allowed us to travel around Nakuru, Naivasha, the Aberdares, Laikipia, Nairobi and the Masai Maara and then finish off with a couple of days in Malindi to unwind. While the driving was long (and I wish we had followed Daniel's advice of taking more internal flights!), we saw everything that we had heard about and more besides. He really took the time to find out what we wanted to get out of the vacation and worked other excursions and parks into that list. As it turned out, our highlight was probably Ol Pejeta where all three boys (and us 'rents) loved the conservancy excursions (and we saw a leopard and her cubs!). We would not have considered that as a destination had Daniel not recommended it.

I would not hesitate to use Daniel and Transtrek again, or to recommend them highly to anyone considering a safari. He was always responsive via email or video call and obviously has a wealth of personal experience traveling in Kenya so was able to answer all of our questions, make great recommendations and create an awesome experience for all of us.
