Review about Moremi Game Reserve by Mary

5/5

Moremi was another favorite destination. So many active animals in June. Hundreds of elephants and many lions, buffalo, wild dog, hyena and leopard. I especially liked our campground which was near one of the bridges. Beautiful spot!

Review about Chobe National Park by Mary

5/5

Chobe National Park was probably my favorite stop because of it being on the river. We saw so many elephants playing in the water........hundreds of buffalo crossing the river. And so much greenery! Very different than the more desert-type areas.

Our safari (our first!) was more than we expected it be. Once in a lifetime adventure!

Nxai Pan was our first stop on our two week mobile tent safari. Took the better part of a day to drive from Maun with our first stop being Thomas Baines Baobas. Wow! Breathtaking. When we were told the legend that the trees were thrown to Earth below, we could understand why! Since we were there in winter, the leaves were gone and the branches look like the roots. We stayed 2 nights in Nxai Pan and we were treated to our very first view of 2 magnificent male lions lounging in the sun. Still my very favorite memory of the trip. Of course, other wildlife is abundant and hundreds of bird species. Our weather was perfect; cold in the mornings but beautiful and comfortably warm by 10am. Our guide was Alwyn Myburgh of Yambo Safaris. Very knowledgable guide & tracker. His crew was outstanding! The food was out of this world.......better than anything I could ever cook at home and they were cooking on a open fire. Seriously.....fresh bread daily and chocolate mousse? Alwyn had arranged for everything we would ever need during our two weeks in Botswana. I would love to go back and take the family some day. What a special trip!

Cape Town/Sabi Sands/Victoria Falls

We believe in using local travel agencies in the country we are visiting. We found Pembury Tours and worked with Laurette. We emailed frequently and occasionally Skyped when that was more efficient. She took our input, offered suggestions and options and we ultimately booked a two week vacation almost a year ago. Of course in that time things change. The hotel in Cape Town undertook renovations during our planned stay. Laurette notified us, suggested a different nearby hotel and we were very happy with our stay. The airline we had booked stopped flying our route on Friday's which was the day we were to leave so we had to leave the US on Thursday. We had two months notice and one email to Laurette got us into the hotel a day earlier. One other reason we book through an in country agent is that if we have any type of issue they are in the same time zone so issues can be addressed promptly. Happily we had no issues. Our itinerary went off without a hitch and we had a wonderful time in Africa. The internet, email and services like Skype have shrunk the world. Consider that Pembury tours offers excellent personal service and will be right near by if any issue arises while in South Africa. We are satisfied customers.

Great overall trip
5/5

Everything worked out really well. We appreciated that the camp managers knew our itinerary, took personal interest in knowing us and remembering who we are. So each evening when discussing the next day, they knew our names, what tent we were in, what we'd done that day, what our options were for the next day, etc.
Safari hub took care of all our needs, happy with them indeed !

A wonderful, unique and memorable experience watching African wildlife
5/5

I had a wonderful 5 day holiday with Sammy Lema as my guide and driver. He was always punctual and courteous; nothing was too much trouble. He is very knowledgeable about the natural environment and the wildlife that inhabit it and how they live and try to survive: I learnt a lot. Sammy was excellent at finding interesting viewings of animals, in particular lions, leopards and cheetahs. I was amazed at how near we could get to the animals, in particular basking lions. I took some excellent photos using only a very basic camera as we were often so near to the animals. I strongly recommend Sammy as a guide.
