Amazing Safari with Maasai
5/5

We had an amazing five day Safari with Maasai over Xmas. Mohammed our guide was so knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and a superb driver. He really knew his stuff and always seemed to get us to right place at the right time. We covered a distance of 2500 km over the five days but it was fine as we saw literally every animal possible and had such a great adventure. All of the lodges we stayed in were fantastic, great staff and great quality accommodation. I would really recommend this company very highly, and thanks to Mohammed for making our trip so fantastic.

Amazing Gorilla Tracking Experience with having very flexible and helpful Tour Guides
5/5

After having some incidents with the booking agency, the tour operator intensively supported me in finding a solution and making the gorilla tracking tour take place.
The moutain gorilla tour has definitely been the absolute highlight of my two weeks tour in East Africa. In Uganda, I have met the friendliest people ever giving me a very warm welcome to their country Uganda.
Regarding the tour itself everything was very well organized and managed. If you are coming to meet a gorilla, look into his face you really see how they express their feelings and the moment you look into their eyes you become clear that the gorillas are very similar to us.
Knowing that they are an endangered species and there are only a few spots left where they still exist results in the fact that it is a MUST to visit those unique creatures.
I would like to thank Gatatu Safaris for making this experience possible and would highly recommend them at any time.

Karumuna Safaris The way to go
5/5

If you are thinking about travelling to Africa, most especially Uganda, Karumuna Safaris is the right way to go. Not only is Richard (Karumuna Safaris) a friendly man but a very trustworthy one at that. We booked and travelled with him in November for a 3 day Kibale Chimps trekking tour and we still talk about the experience right now. While we were in Uganda, he took care of each and every need of ours and he is a person i would gladly book with again. We saw chimps, birds, baboons and had a crater lake experience like no other. He has a vast knowledge about the parks and animals, has good connections with park rangers and hotels. Beautiful communication, beautiful country, beautiful people. This trip exceeded my expectations. Thank you Richard, thank you Karumuna safaris for the best holiday me and mybfriends have ever had.

It was a marvellous experience exceeding all expectations
5/5

On the spur of the moment my wife and I decided to take a break over New Year’s Eve 2016/17. We thought that we would look at the Massia Mara as a possible venue. We Googled tour operators in Kenya for a Massia Mara experience. Axis Africa Safaris were the first to respond. We experience excellent customer service from their tour manager, Lenox. We looked at other tour operators to compare price, variety and overall suggestions. However, Axis Africa Safaris came out on top on price and with the most interesting itinerary. We could see that they have lots of experience and listen to their customers’ feedback. We bought the package!
They picked us up near our home in Westlands. We joined a tour party to make a group of seven people. After a while we formed a harmonious team. We all thoroughly enjoyed the four-day Safari. The first two nights were in the Massia Mara and third night in Nakuru followed by a tour of lake Nakuru National Park on the last day. They dropped us back at our home and we all thoroughly enjoyed seeing 2017 in the Mara under the guidance of Axis Africa Safaris. We also made good friends from the USA and Egypt in the process.

Great Guide, Terrible Accomodations
2/5

This review is to be a negative one.
I hope they take this feedback and try improve their communication and their services.

My family (my wife and my 2 daughters) experience, in terms of activities were good.
We owe that to our guide. He is an excellent guide and very safe driver.
There was one other person. I didn't know what the other guy did till the last day.
There were discrepancies in the itineraries. What we were promised was different what was delivered.
We never did the early morning and the evening game drive.

Time gap between the departure time from Masindi Courtview hotel and the actual Rhino walk was more then 6 hours. Nothing to do for 6 hours. We just sat around did nothing.

From the very first night, accommodations were substandard, despite much better accommodation availability nearby properties. They communicated and promised to us that our accommodation in Ziwa Sanctuary would not be a budget accommodation.
We spent the entire night awake with mouse and rats running around us. There were literally hundreds of live bugs and mouse droppings on the sheets.
We are still so upset about this which I am considering in taking further actions.

Food options, well there were no food options at Parkside lodge. We ate whatever they made. One main course. That's it.
To be fair, Courtview and Ziwa had food options.

We've paid a premium price expecting premium service. Our guide/driver was outstanding. Other than that it was terrible.
After I've learned what the charges were in the hotels and permits and entrance fees, the profit margin was significant. They basically put us in the cheapest and dirtiest places to make that profit.

Our bad experience with accommodations and food would not take away the joy and pleasure we had by learning about Ugandan people and culture. Kindest people we've ever met during our travels.
