Great wildlife viewing, quality accomodations, excellent experience start to finish
Overall rating
5/5

My wife and I took Coastal Aviation's last minute tour package, and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The ground and flight crew at the airports were professional and got us there and back safely. Once we arrived, we were promptly picked up and immediately set out on our safari. Our guides were great and really went out of their way to make sure we had a great wildlife viewing experience. They were willing to head out very early and stay out as late as we wanted on our game drives.

The accommodations were pretty nice as well, with a great outdoor shower. It was great to be in a bush camp environment, and it really added to the whole safari experience. It was by no means 5*, but everything was excellent quality, especially for the price. There was even hot water! The food was the only thing that wasn't spectacular, but there was enough of it, which is probably more important.

This is quite an amazing adventure

It takes quite a lot of effort to get to Bwindi but the journey is well worth it if you get to see a Mountain Gorilla which generally most people do. This is really why you go there. I have worked for the National Parks Service in Australia so i went with a critical eye as to how the experience was managed but particularly how the Gorilla trekking was managed, especially since there are only 880 Mountain Gorillas left in the world. And i was very impressed. I stood within four metres of a Silverback and his family after a five hour hike with my heart thumping a million miles an hour. The guide was fantastic. You are only allowed one hour with the Gorillas but it was a truly wonderful experience to see these magnificent animals in their environment. A word of caution. The trip to get there from Kampala is long and arduous and if you get car sick then the last two hours could be hell but i dont so i just took it all in and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend going. It's a good idea to take a stop at Lake Mburo and/or Queen Elizabeth national parks on the way.

About: Uganda

Uganda tourism suffers i suspect from the Idi Amin legacy with a reputation for danger it no longer deserves. I was there for two weeks and felt entirely safe the entire time. Interestingly Kenya gets the lions share of tourists (pun intended) but is not a partiuclary safe place. Right now I'd be avoiding Kenya and taking the far safer option of Uganda. Wonderful country, wonderful friendly people. It is green beyond belief. Can highly recommned the four to five day hike to Mt Elgon National Park to reach the summit as well. another well managed and spectacular place.

An exceptional and reasonably priced safari experience
5/5

My son and I had an exceptional safari, which was frankly much more fun and interesting than I expected. Over six days and five nights, Tarangire--Serengeti--Ngorongoro provided many memorable sights and exceptional wildlife. We had our own guide, and were surprised that there were relatively few other guests at most of the lodges and camps (which were uniformly excellent). Internet connectivity was good at the resorts, but of course not available at the tented camp. Although it was technically the start of the rainy season, we did not have any rain. Highlights included observing the birth of a hippo, sighting three cheetahs and also a mother leopard and her cubs, watching two lions attack a herd of cape buffalo, seeing six rhinos at Ngorongoro (including two who crossed just in front of our Land Rover), and driving through the middle of the Great Migration and thousands of wildebeest. Umang was very reachable, and our guide Moses was excellent. We highly recommend UBonsafari.

Good price, very helpful staff, a lot of fun and nothing to complain about !!!!
5/5

We made a 6 day tent safari with Northern Circuit Adventure. We can absolutely recommend it !!!
We went in the low season and had the luck that it was only the 2 of us in the car. We saw lofs of animals (of course the big 5) and could always stay as long as we liked.
The owner Michael was all the time very helpful. For questions before the tour and also when we arrived in Arusha. We felt very welcome the whole time.

The tour is in comparison to the other companies a very good offer and we didn't see any big difference to the other more expensive companies. Maybe the cars are a bit newer, but there was nothing to complain about our car. They are in a very good shape even with electricity charger.
All cars of all companies are connected via radio communication so the drivers always know where you can find the animals.
The tents and equipment where in good and clean condition.
Food was (as from what we saw with all companies the same) and typical african food. It was always enough food and yummy.
We can defenitly recommend this operator and we would do the tour again the same way.
The Hotel Clouds view was very clean and absolutely ok for the arrival day but there is not much to do in Arusha.

Great experience
5/5

My journey in Tanzania had started off on a very negative note because the other tour operator I was in contact and trying to go with ended up cheating me out of my money and making off with it. I ended up at Mr. Geofrey Nassari's hotel, the Arusha Tourist Inn.
It was the best thing that could have happened to me because he arranged for me to go on his safari and he even helped me track my money down from the perpetrator after.
The safari was great, the driver was knowledgeable and the cook was excellent throughout the safari.
Highly recommend this company!

Incredible trip
5/5

I went on a four-day trip to Mikumi and Udzungwa. I had booked last minute and was travelling alone and joined a couple travelling together and another solo traveller who had booked just the day before. Our guide was outstanding - he really went out of his way to ensure our comfort and was very helpful and cheerful. He also knew the park very well and we saw pretty much every animal you can imagine including a leopard! The accommodation was not luxurious but clean and decent enough for the price paid ($150 a day) and the food was good. The mud huts in Udzungwa were spartan but atmospheric and there was a great bar. Everything was well organised and we didn't have to worry about anything. Definitely exceeded my expectations.

Amazing once in a lifetime experience
5/5

From the time we were in contact with Gorilla Trek Africa we were looked after by Nicholas and William. Friendly, safe informative driver Lucky William looked after our needs for the four days in Uganda and Rwanda. Our accommodation was great in both locations and the time with the gorillas a highlight of our 5 week trip to Africa. Local caring company we highly recommend Gorilla Trek Africa.

Amazing Kilimanjaro Experience
5/5

The Kilimanjaro hike was spectacular. I find it hilarious that a person that missed their flight would give this tour company one star, they really provided an excellent experience for our group. It was my first trip to Africa and they made me really comfortable!

A private guide makes all the difference! Highly Recommended!
5/5

I joined Mangaleka Africa on the 4-day Discover Kruger Park tour.

Being a South African I visit game reserves quite regularly but what made such a difference to me this time is having a private knowledgeable guide. It's not just about spotting the animals and ticking them off the list but finding out more about them, learning how they interact and recognising unusual behaviour which can alert you to an even better sighting. Brett from Mangaleka Africa is just the guy to offer this and any trip with him is guaranteed to be full of information and action-packed. Highly recommended.
