Awesome Safari through South-West Uganda
5/5

My husband and I have just returned from a 7 day luxury safari organised by Kombi Tours. Right from the beginning planning stages Rachel at Kombi Tours was extremely helpful and was able to help us understand what was involved with the tour, which included gorilla and chimp tracking, and what we could expect. And it exceeded all of our expectations and there were no surprises. Rachel provided us with all the information we needed, right down to packing lists, how much spending money we would need and in what currency, and what the tipping guidelines would be. Any questions we had were answered and our emails and phone calls were responded to very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything on the tour went according to plan. Our driver, Ibra, was friendly, helpful and looked after us so well. Our van was comfortable with lots of leg room and part of the fun of the tour was looking at the beautiful scenery as we drove from lodge to lodge. When I realised that I had booked flights that didn't match with our tour dates, Rachel was able to provide us with choices of additional accommodation and tours which all were all fantastic. We were in great hands. Uganda is a beautiful country and I think we saw pretty much all that it has to offer thanks to Rachel's itinerary. I'd love to be able to do it all again. Thanks Kombi Nation Tours for making our safari the trip of a lifetime! Special shout out to Ibra for his helpfulness in finding the elusive leopards and his great sense of humour.

Thanks to Compass and to the local guides Emanuel and Mortimer. My son and I had a great safari trip in Botswana, Zim and Zam. Perfectly organized. Great job.

You get what you pay for

We went with the budget option but even so considering the price is nothing to complain about. The safari experience itself was very good.

amazing bang for your buck
5/5

Staff maintained good communication before the trip and picked me up at the said time. The guide and driver was great and answered all our questions. Accommodation isn't five stars but more than enough. I heard elephants trumpeting at night! We saw all the big five and more than once. It was incredible.

I would absolutely recommend to go for it with this company! Elieza, Jackson and all the other crew are very nice people, helpful with anything, ready to take action anytime and really welcoming. This whole experience was more than just a safari trip :) . These were dinners, lunches, endless talkings and making friends :). Go for it!

Excellent planning and organization for the trip of a life time
5/5

I chose Benson Safaris to organize our safari because of the company's excellent online reviews and his prompt and thorough communications in initially planning the trip; every email I sent Benson was replied to the next day (which is immediate given the time difference between Tanzania and the USA).

We did a safari tour as well as a few days on the beach in Zanzibar. Benson lived up to his positive reviews and exceeded our expectations at every point in planning the trip.

Our safari guide, Richard, was with us for five full days and really made the trip amazing and special. He was knowledgeable, friendly, great to talk with, and knows the parks and the wildlife extremely well. He navigated us thorough the parks with a deft alacrity that kept the trip exciting and entertaining at every moment. Richard showed us all the big five and we saw few cheetahs with a kill and a pride of lions with a kill -- totally amazing to see. The safari camp accommodations were uniformly awesome -- the safari camps in the bush were surprisingly well appointed and the hotels in the cities were really posh, in every place the food was great.

In Zanzibar, everything was handled very well. Hotel pick ups and transit around the island was seamless and perfectly taken care of. Again similar to our safari experience, Benson placed us in great locations with amazing views, activities and staff.

Throughout all the planning, choosing various options for the trip, and then during the trip Benson was available and responsive and a model of superb customer service.

In short, if you are looking for an amazing trip in Tanzania and Zanzibar; Benson is your man. I would recommend him to anybody looking for a quality trip to see one of the most amazing experiences in the world.

Thanks Benson, you made this trip more amazing than we had expected.

Don't expect too many animals during the wet season
Overall rating

In general, Etosha seems to be a great park to go to. The facilities were good, camping was fun and the scenery is just lovely. As we went there in the wet season of February, Etosha was very green, with plenty of water everywhere, so finding animals was very hard, even for our nice and very experienced guides. We did end up with a few sightings though, highlighted by a young leopard, who was drinking some water in the middle of the road. We saw plenty of giraffes, ostriches and springbok, but the rhinos were unfortunately hiding! It was fun to spot birds and also smaller animals like honey badgers, even though hard when the car was moving. I can definitely recommend going there, but would personally try again in dry season!
