Fantastic 11 day Gosheni Safari
5/5

If you are going on safari, Go Gosheni. I wanted to take my nephew on safari for his 20th birthday. We chose the five top agencies, according to the reviews. Itineraries were all similar, but Gosheni gave us three price ranges, depending upon the type of lodges we wanted to stay at. Peter, the head of Gosheni, called me in New York to make sure we had received his quotes and to answer any questions that we may have had. We kept up a continual email correspondence, making occasional changes, until I was convinced that Peter had put together the perfect trip for us. I was not wrong. Peter met us at the airport, took us to our lodging and met us after dinner to go over the itinerary in detail. Our guide was Moses, who did everything but part the Red Sea. Moses was outstanding as a guide and driver. He was able to spot wildlife from quite a distance and always managed to maneuver us up close. We saw the "big five", and were constantly within 6 feet of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other forms of wildlife. Moses was a walking encyclopedia of facts about all of the species we saw. The lodges we stayed at were perfect. All arrangements had been made. We did not encounter a single problem during the entire trip. I recommend Gosheni most highly to anyone who wants a perfect, trouble-free safari.

Safari with Homeland Adventures
5/5

I recently had the privilege to go on safari to three of Northern Tanzania's most breathtaking jewels: Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National park; all with Homeland Adventures.

The parks were beyond astounding (Ngorongoro was unlike anything I'd ever experienced) and our safari company (Homeland Adventures) made the experience what it was. The owner, Muksin, was not only attentive of our needs (I was helping lead a study abroad trip of college students) but was himself so inspired by the destinations that his enthusiasm was contagious. We saw seemingly endless species of wildlife, all of which Muksin was able to identify and provide knowledge, and some of the most beautiful panoramas on planet Earth.

Northern Tanzania is a special place rich with history, geographic diversity, abundant culture, and ceaseless intrigue. It's important to be considerate of the home culture and natural environment when traveling; Homeland Adventures helped us achieve out goal of reducing tourist impact while introducing us to Northern Tanzania in a safe, educational, and adventurous way. For anyone interested in doing a day-trip or month in Northern Tanzania, I intend on highly recommending them to Homeland Adventures.

It was remarkable due to personal care, attention to detail, and astute diversity and choices made.

This trip with the amazing Joh Cooper was beyond expectations. John knows how to make a trip memorable so that it becomes the "trip of a lifetime." From his pre-trip e-mails, through his personal attention during the trip, to his post follow-ups, the entire experience was outstanding. John chose excellent accommodations that gave us an authentic experience in the bush and beyond. The sequencing of the trip including "side-trips" to Dullstroom and then to Victoria Falls were well placed to give the group a "break" from the bush. The "experts" John arranged for us to meet and interact with (e.g., Ian for the rhino tracking) were superb as were all of our local rangers/guides. Every need was met including food preferences and times spent in each location. This safari was superb and much "richer" than others that I have heard about. John encouraged our group (four Americans and four Australians) to communicate with one another before the trip which was a terrific idea. The people we travelled with (two couples we did not before the trip) became fast friends. John knows how to form cohesive groups which, again, contributed to the trip's success. Every step of the way, John "made it happen!" He orchestrated the three weeks to perfection and we could not ask for anything more. It was beyond excellent in every way! Bravo, John. We would book with him again without any hesitation and will recommend his company to others! Dr. Geraldine P. Wallach, Corona del Mar, California, USA.

3 Day Masai Mara
5/5

Booked a last minute 3 day Masai Mara trip with Beacon Safari. They were absolutely wonderful. Did a great job of building a custom safari around what we wanted. Namely all day safari drives instead of just a morning and afternoon drive and a more camp like resort. We went with IIKeliani and we were the only people there for 1 night and there were 2 other couples there the other night. The camp was wonderful and took care of all of our needs. Beacon Safari and David our amazing guide were top notch. We saw 4 of the big 5 only missing the Rhino. David seemed like a lead guide out there with other guides always asking him where to find things and which direction the animals were moving. Seeing a cheetah eating a jackal in a tree was amazing. We were the only ones there. David made sure we got all the pictures we wanted before informing the other guides of where this was. We were also the first to find a male lion napping on the Mara and a family of 3 female lions and their 6 baby lions. Just an amazing experience overall. You should book with Beacon if you want an amazing experience. I will be booking with them again on our next safari.

Beautiful experience, company went above and beyond!
5/5

The trip was incredible. Our guides went above and beyond in every way. They clearly were very experienced in all aspects of the trip. Trips between parks sometimes were long, but the driver was incredible at making everyone feel comfortable. He also spent a lot of time with us in the park to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see. And the food went beyond all expectations, it was gourmet cooking every night, and was absolutely delightful. Lodging was incredible as well. Thank you for providing such great guides and amazing itinerary/lodging.

A great experience , a trip i'll never forget. And a tourgide how understood his job, thanks Julius
5/5

From the day my wife and i decided to go on this trip we had some talks with Terah about the safari trip and got good info.
Tuesday june 14 we've been picked up by the cabdriver who took us to Mombasa, there we waited on the van with our tourgide and the other safaritrippers.
After we left Mombasa i got to see already a lot of the couintry wich i very much enjoyed. On our way to Tsavo we had a small rest for refreshing a bit and to look for souvenirs for who liked to buy something.
From the moment we arrived a Tsavo we could see right away the first animals, mostly elephants.
Realy what a special moment it was to see them in he wild natural enviroment in stead of seeing them in a zoo. After a couple of hours we arrived at the lodge where we spend the night at had a lunch and some time for R and R. The trip continued in the afternoon and it was only beautiful , the land, the scenery and all the wildlife we got to see.
At the end of our first day the guide got a phone call from another guiide who had spotted a group of lions, so as fast as he could he took us overthere. Wauw!!!! what a great experience was that to see this group so close to the van. I think they were so close to the van that i almost could touch them. This was the best experience i had that day. Now it was time to leave and go back to the lodge for diner and sleep,,, this we all really needed.
Day 2 , june 15. We had to wake up early for breakfast and left the lodge after that. The day started chilly but i did not even care about that, i was so excited about everything .So we all got in the van and started our second day. While we were driving and try to spot wildlife Julius our guide saw more then we even could see.He is a man who was seeing things we even didn't see and pointed us on that various times, i thank him for that. Also on the second day we got to see lions and even a couple of cheetah~s. OMG what a good decision to go on this trip it was worth to invest the time and some money in this, i realy can say this from the bottem of my heart! The trip went on for a few more hours and so we reached the end of the park. On our way back to Mombasa we made a last stop for some food and drink, after this stop the thought of the safari stayed in my mind. When we reached Mombasa our cabdriver was already there waiting for my wife and me and he brought us back home to Mwtapa... For all i can say : This was great and a beautiful, will do it again in the future, and for the people who are thinking of taking a safari i can only say DO IT, you wont regret!!!!.

Special thanks to Maureen , Terah, if we didn't know you we probally did niot go on this trip. And Julius thanks for showing us the beautifull park and pointing us at interesting things.
Also special thanks to my wife, without you i would not have enjoyed it so much as i did!! Asante Sana

3Dqay/2Night Safari in Chobe NP
5/5

Very pleased with Africa Zim travel. They made arrangements for the two of us to be picked up in Livingstone and transferred to Botswana for the safari. Logistics were superb with the hand off from shuttle to boat (to cross the border) to the safari leader seamless. Africa Zim was even able to accommodate a last minute change from us to be returned to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe instead of the originally agreed upon Livingstone, Zambia at the end of the safari at no additional charge.

The safari itself was sub-contracted out to Cape Fig Safaris based out of Kasane/Chobe in Botswana and they were excellent. I would 100% recommend that you request that Africa Zim books your trip to Chobe with this operator.

Three small notes:
1) The itinerary provided by Africa Zim mentions time to stop in Kasane to shop for some last minute supplies or curios. We did not get this chance. Wasn't a problem for us, but probably something Africa Zim should communicate to their sub contractors or remove that item from the itinerary.
2) I paid 25% upfront using PayNow (kind of the Zimbabwe version of PayPal), which does assess a fee for making payment, just something to keep in mind.
3) The final 75% was requested in cash, which may be a lot for people to be carrying on there person (and difficult to obtain in Zimbabwe currently). You may want to ask to make other payment arrangements.
