Delightful Adventure
5/5

Armadillo Overland Safari company - Chris, Nicky, and Morris specifically - is a wonderful organization. They were responsive to emails and helpful with logistics beyond just the tour. "Truck Norris" is truly a unique vehicle to tour Kruger. Unlike all other vehicles we met on the road, Truck Norris has enormous windows and an aisle to easily jump to either side of the truck for the best viewing and pictures. Most tours have seats window to window and you see what you see from your seat only. The truck also has a great library to help you identify all of the wonderful things you see. Another real bonus is that we carry our meals and bags with us, so we don't backtrack to a spot to find meals or retrieve our bags. Finally, Morris our guide was gracious and knowledgeable. I will never understand how he spots lions under a tree 100 yards away, but he does it! Please remember, nature is not predictable, Morris works with what he has. For an example, we saw 102 unique species of birds, animals, and all of the big five on our trip. It was amazing, but I'm sure experiences vary.

While I don't find these things bothersome, some of you might want to know the following. Wifi is available in the truck, but you're in a National Park, so understand it won't be reliable, not the guide's fault. Guest houses sometimes have an en suite bathroom and sometimes do not. You're in a park so things like cicadas might be in season and create a maddening/hilarious experience, but hey, that's part of the adventure! Finally, the "roads" are bumpy, you'll be seated but turning your head to look outside a lot, your body may feel some of that after six days (great excuse for a massage), but again, I wouldn't trade the experience for any other.

No large groups of animals, but scenically gave me the Moremi a little like better.

The cats (lions and leopards), but also the big elephant herds I liked very much. Birds were closer to Moremi. A little more tourists because of proximity to Livingston

The nature, the animals, - one of the best journeys of mine
Overall rating
5/5

On the road with the tent, but there was nothing missing. Very good kitchen. Good teamwork within the group, experienced guide, transport in open landrover, therefore good opportunities for taking pictures. The temperatures were very high, 44 degrees, very dry, but many animals at the water places. Landscape not very varied. Very few tourists. Highlights? For me the whole trip.

The nature, away from civilization, close to the animals and yet a very safe feeling. Very nice people, it was great

Chabo Africa Safari exceeded our expectations...in every way, from start to finish!
5/5

Chabo Africa Safari exceeded our expectations, from start to finish! We had an amazing 8-day safari through Selous and Mikumi, ending in Ruaha. Having requested a ‘Budget / Camping’ level of accommodation, we were prepared for a little ‘adventure’, but were pleasantly surprised with the variety of great lodgings: from permanent ‘tents’ overlooking hippos bathing in the Rufiji river to the lovely TanSwiss hotel with a pool, thru the more rustic Ruaha Bandas and the friendly Neema Craft House. Our guide Modest was outstanding, from our first phone conversation to arrange our pick-up in Dar Es Salaam, until our Safari was complete, he was prompt, professional, and personable! (and a patient, safe driver as well!)

Chabo is a very small safari company that made a very big impression with our group. They are Tanzanian owned, employ local people, and provide a very dedicated service; with extensive knowledge of the parks, the animals, the traditions and culture. Elen, who organizes bookings, quotes, etc. was very thorough and efficient. Despite a 10-hour time difference, most of our email questions were answered within 24 hours. The payment process was flawless; Elen provided very detailed information for the successful wire transfers.

With all those details so well taken care of, we were set for an amazing experience! We chose the ‘Southern Route’ safari, largely because it is the ‘less travelled’ and ‘less busy’ route, although we were aware that we might see fewer animals than the northern route, we would also see fewer people and have a more natural viewing experience. Our guide Modest’s amazing intuition and experience repeatedly lead us to incredible viewing opportunities, from waterholes with various species cautiously approaching to drink, to up-close, fresh lion kills where the dominant males were gorging while the females and youngsters lay panting in the shade, licking their wounds sustained in the hunt and resting from the exertion while awaiting their turn to feast. From giraffes and elephants to hyrax, kudus and zebras, dik-diks to jackals, crocodiles to hyenas and warthogs, the list goes on, not to mention the incredible array of bird species! Each day included multiple viewings, with Modest sharing his vast wealth of knowledge on the various plant, animal and bird species and their place in the environment.
Modest and Chabo Africa set a high standard for customer care, taking care of every detail from the moment we met up in Dar through to our flight from Iringa. Modest’s great sense of humour and his competent, considerate nature made it hard to say goodbye. We would certainly recommend Chabo Africa for your Tanzanian Safari adventure!

Great South Africa experience expertly taylored to our requirements.
5/5

First class experience that exceeded my expectations. I would have no hesitation in recommending Flight of the Eagle Safaris and Tours. Our 3 day experience was expertly planned and executed by Johan and Elize who were very charming as well as knowledgeable hosts. We were treated more like friends than tourists and when I return to South Africa I will be sure to use their services again. The whole experience was fun, informative and taylored to exactly what we were looking for. Johan, Elize thank you you are a credit to the South Africa tourist industry.

The Vickson-Michael Team Made All The Difference
5/5

My wife and I visited Nairobi in October 2016, strictly for business. I was not searching for a full-blown safari; however, she ran into Michael and several other tour operators on the street. Michael, an assistant to Vickson O. Onyango, made arrangements for the trip flawless. I, too, was hooked. Both those guys, working as a cohesive team, created a cost-reasonable package and on to Masai Mara we went. Know what? They were so engaged in their business they not only see us go to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, they were also on hand to ensure flawlessness all the way to NBO (the international airport) for our departure to the United States. My wife and I could not be more impressed. They were down-to-earth, superbly polite and eternally inviting. They knew the contours of excellent customer service and worked assiduously to exceed them. Please ask for Vickson and Michael to ensure your adventure into the wild will be as exciting as you expect it to be. They are the best, hands down.

Exceptional safari company!
5/5

Easy Travel provided us with the best possible safari we could have imagined. From the beginning planning stages to the end, the staff went above and beyond in making sure we had a great time. The staff was genuinely friendly and really cared to make our honeymoon one full of fun and surprises. Our guide, Luis, was absolutely wonderful - with in depth knowledge of the parks, the animals, and the timing of it all. In speaking to friends who have gone on safaris, other travelers while on our own, and locals, I can confidently say that Easy Travel is the best safari company out there.

The highlight of East Africa
5/5

By recommendation, a friend and I booked our Gorilla trekking safari through loving hearts. After the initial fear of paying upfront and through an African payments website, we arrived and were totally floored by this lodge, the people who worked there, the food, the lake, the views, but most of all the school. Spending an open day with the teachers and students was supremely life changing. The compassion and story of the couple that founded the lodge and the school was heart warming. I ended up sponsoring a young boy, and becoming friends with many more. I cannot recommend the safari services or the people here highly enough. I fully trust them to give a fair price and deliver on what they promise and am very much looking forward to returning for another visit soon!
