June may not be the best time to visit
Overall rating
4/5

June, being the time of the year just before the Migration, was not the best time to visit. The grass was very high and smaller big cats like Cheetahs and Leopards were impossible to spot in the grass growth.

Still the bigger wildlife like Wildebeests, Buffaloes, Elephants and Giraffes were almost common without compromising on the 'wild' feel. Lions were quite easy to spot but the Male lions were quite elusive.

Incredible4
5/5

Nadine made sure every experience, we asked for was included in our vacation. It is not an easy task to plan a trip across the world with no idea what is in store. Every detail was explained and executed. Correspondence was immediate, and helpful. Our accommodations and service were perfect, and I can't wait to return.
Thank you again for all of your patience with us and making this a trip of a lifetime!

Very attentive and helpful with finding the type of camp I wanted
5/5

I was looking on line at various Safari Camps in Kruger National Park. The choice was a bit overwhelming and I was very happy when Afritrip Group stepped in to help. I described the type of environment I was looking for (tented camp, limited guests, limited electricity etc)....and they found me Hamiltons. It was great and Andy was especially helpful. Many thanks.

Great company and safari experience!
5/5

I booked a small group, midrange, 6-day safari with Open Africa Safaris. From beginning to end it was a great experience. John was very prompt with returning emails and calls, and answering all of my questions. I have food allergies, and he put me at ease that the lodges would be able to accommodate them. Since I was traveling alone, my time was split between 2 groups. The parks visited and accommodations remained as planned. The lodges and permanent tented camp (Serengeti) exceeded my expectations, and they did accommodate for my food allergies. Both guides I had, Omary and Paul, were great. I was impressed with how they navigated the vehicles through the parks and their knowledge about the wildlife and agriculture. The customer service of Open Africa Safaris is top notch, and this was a trip of a lifetime. I learned they will arrange for volunteer tourism in Tanzania as well if you're interested in that. They were also very prompt with my airport transfers. I would recommend them without hesitation!

Amazing Safari!
5/5

My sisters and I planned our safari in Tanzania though E-Trip Africa and could not have been more pleased every step of the way! Ben helped up plan our itinerary and was so helpful. He was quick to respond to any questions we had and gave us several options for lodging in the three parks where we stayed (Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the central Serengeti). I also appreciated the transparency of cost...it was the only travel company that broke down the costs for the safari line by line. We looked into three other safari companies and they all were more expensive for the exact same or slightly inferior lodgings!

After a long wait to get our visas in Tanzania, we were happily surprised to see that Ben and Amiri were there to greet us! On our way to our hotel in Arusha, Ben filled us in on what to expect on the safari and answered all of our questions. It immediately put us at ease and we were excited to begin our adventure.

As for the safari experience itself, we felt SO lucky to have Amiri as our driver and guide. He is an expert at identifying animals, animal behavior, foliage, cultural history, etc. We learned so much during our game drives with him! He was able to spot game very far away that we easily missed. We saw many lions, several leopards, a couple of cheetahs, and a wide assortment of other animals thanks to his eagle eyes! Amiri was so pleasant and accommodating. Each morning we would go over a game plan for the day with Amiri. We were never disappointed! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our game drives...even on the bumpy dusty roads.

Our accommodations were superb and were even better than what we had expected. Many thanks to Ben for recommending The Roving Bushtops camp in the central Serengeti. After I had told him what type of accommodation we wanted to stay in while in the bush, he gave me a short list of places we might like. They all looked great, but we ended up choosing a newer camp--The Roving Bushtops. It was our favorite lodging, and I'm glad we had three nights there to enjoy all that the camp had to offer!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed working with Ben and Amiri! Every expectation we had was surpassed--from the lodgings to the game drives to the kindness of the Tanzanian people we met along the way. I would highly recommend E-Trip Africa to anyone planning a safari--you will definitely be in good hands!

Coordinated a great trip for us on very short notice
5/5

We only had a couple weeks to coordinate a safari, we contacted African Safari Guru, described what we thought we were looking to do, but not having been to SA before we needed to have an expert give us some suggestions. ASG was that expert. They handled the transportation, booked a fantastic resort, and also worked with me to do a couple one-off day tours. In summary, an organization that knows how to service, is flexible to schedules, and knowledgeable of the areas and experience opportunities, to make for a really nice trip. I will definitely use African Safari Guru again!

Second Trip with Wild Discoveries!
5/5

This is my second trip with Wild Discoveries. My first trip was six months earlier and I had such an amazing time, I went back! Because Wild Discoveries is Ugandan owned and operated with the founders having many years experience in both wildlife conservation and hospitality, they have all these inside connections that make the safaris and hotel stays extra special. At one location we had a private, evening game drive where we saw five female lions and were able to intimately watch their evening rituals. It was incredible. We also did a boat tour on the Nile (iconic) and the wildlife viewing was unreal - elephants, crocodiles, hippos, antelope, giraffe, warthogs, birds and more. Wild Discoveries may not have all the fancy bells & whistles like some of the bigger tour operators but you'll experience Uganda, the people and wildlife in a way no large tour operator could ever offer. If you want a truly authentic experience, I highly recommend Wild Discoveries Safaris.

Botswana and Victoria Falls Safari
5/5

This was our first Africa trip and it more than lived up to our expectations. Ute arranged all of the lodging and transfers and everything was perfect. Everywhere we went the people were incredibly friendly and helpful. We visited four different lodges in Botswana which each had different terrain. Wildlife was spectacular at all locations. I would highly recommend Roho Ya Chui if you are planning a trip to Africa.

A day at Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
5/5

Booking our trip with Mega Adventures was easy, after having already climbed Kilimanjaro with them, we were confident they would give us a good deal for a trip to Ngorongoro and we were not disappointed.

Booking was completed face-to-face at our hostel, but we had discussed several options with Mohamed previously via telephone and electronic messaging.

We were picked up on time from our hostel, and after a quick stop to collect our lunches from a local caterer we started the long drive West to Ngorongoro. Our driver, and guide Ali kept us informed about our progress as well as telling us what we might hope to see when we arrived.

Upon arrival to the conservation area, entry formalities were completed quickly, and our descent into the park was swift in order to maximise the time spent on the crater floor. The crater was so vast, beyond anything I could have predicted. It was genuinely amazing to see the tiny dots we had viewed from above transformed into zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, warthogs and many more.

Ali took the time to explain each animal to us: numbers in the park, species, habits etc, and drove slowly and responsibly through the area, maximising our viewing potential of the rarer beasts. After some radio chatter he took us to a spot where we could see the critically endangered black rhino. After lunch (a very tasty lunch I might add) by the hippo pool, we searched for lions, which Ali found pretty quickly, a pride sleeping through the afternoon heat. We managed a good 4 hours inside the crater before heading out (seeing elephants as we passed) and returning to Moshi. Although the journey was long and traffic was dense, it didn't detract from the epic day we had at Ngorongoro with Mega Adventures.
