Great experience and good communication with Golden Rwanda
5/5

Overall had a great experience with Golden Rwanda. From the initial communication and setting the itinerary to payment, permits, and transportation everything went smoothly. I would use this operator again. Upon airport arrival, to airport drop off 5 days later, everything was seamless and taken care of.

Frank was responsive up until arrival, and Claude our driver for the week aimed to please and nothing was an inconvenience. Highly Recommend.

An Unforgettable time - Amazing, Marvelous with Lucas and Lucas' African Adventures
5/5

Lucas is a very knowledgeable guide. He knows all the trees and bushes species. He knows each animal from the area. He was able to take us to all the different parks. We did an 8 day trip to Tarengeri, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti.
Lucas is excellent at finding the animals. We saw the big 5! We saw so many lions, a variety of birds, African buffalo, hippos, etc .
The food was excellent. We had delicious lunches with chicken , rice, fruit, juice. Very high quality.
Lucas is a very professional, caring man. Lucas is very outgoing. I highly recommend Lucas' African Adventures.

The best choice!
5/5

Our experience with Lion King and Salehe Kimosa as our guide for our honeymoon went above and beyond anything we could’ve dreamt up! We know from experience that searching and deciding on the right safari tour is a long search - stop your search NOW and book this trip! Choosing to go on this trip was a huge financial decision for us (as I’m sure it is for many reading this now!) but it was SO worth every single penny. We will remember this trip forever and cherish everything we learned and experienced. We picked Lion King for its great reviews and the fact that it is completely run by Tanzanian staff and family owned by a former safari guide (and we had the pleasure of meeting him and his son on New Years Eve at Nyota Luxury Camp! He is absolutely wonderful and so committed to making sure his guests have the best experience!). We were so glad we made this big decision from the very beginning - communication with Lion King was so thorough and timely before the trip. We received all the details we needed and were easily able to make a few adjustments before the trip (added another day in the Serengeti). After being there, it is so clear that the itinerary is very thoughtful. As a couple who loves to travel and usually plans everything themselves, it was amazing to have everything planned so beautifully by Lion Kong and not have to worry about one detail for our honeymoon. There’s always anxiety before a trip - especially such a big one, but Lion King and Salehe made this a completely stress-free and relaxing experience.

Now about our AMAZING guide, Salehe Kimosa. From the minute we met him I knew we’d have an awesome trip! He is everything an expert guide should be and more - super friendly and personable, so smart and knowledgeable about all the animals and plants/trees and an incredible navigator and driver (which we realized is SO important). He has this one-of-a-kind intuition, knowing where to go and exactly where to park so we got the best views and photos. We went during a couple of rainy days with more treacherous roads and I’m someone who can get nervous in the car, but in Salehe’s hands, I felt so safe the whole time. Salehe went above and beyond to make sure we had the trip of a lifetime. One example of how he exceeded our expectations was that he recognized that the tall grass in Serengeti during this rainy season would prohibit us from seeing a lot, so he brought us to a more remote area between Ngorogoro Conservation Area and Serengeti, where you can drive off the road. It was the best adventure and we saw so so much - lots of cheetahs, a leopard, giraffes play fighting etc. etc. It was so clear that really the only expert guides are capable of doing this and Salehe is clearly an expert. And he decided to do this during one of the longest drives/days we had (it was probably a 13 hour working day for him), he really really cared that we saw what we had hoped and made it happen!! He also made our last night in the Serengeti so memorable, bringing us out to a sunset spot to enjoy wine that Lion King had specially labeled for us. He’s also an all around awesome and friendly person, and a pleasure to spend time with and learn from. We met several Lion King guides and they all seemed awesome, but I’d say that if you can request Salehe, I can assure you’ll have the BEST time.

Lion King booked us incredible accomodations! They greatly surpassed our expectations. The Maramboi Tented Lodge offered a private pool with views of Lake Maynamara and Nyota Luxury Tent showed us unparalleled friendliness and service. It was an amazing lodging in the middle of the Serengeti! We’ve never stayed anywhere remotely close to how nice all of the accommodations were - we had everything we needed and much, much more.

One last one note about what sets Lion King apart - you will see at the picnic areas that all tours give a boxed lunch. With Lion King, we got a full hit meal on a picnic blanket - a perfect example of how Lion King stands apart. Also I’m a vegetarian and was worried about the options. Let’s just say I’ve ever ate this well!!! Another note is that most tours only have windows that open halfway - we were able to fully put down our windows for the best view AND our truck had a built-in cooler always filled with water, juice, soda and beer, how cool is that?

Longest review I’ve ever written by far but worth it to help inspire others to make the best decision and book with Lion King (and Salehe!!)

Amazing and Excellent
5/5

This was my second safari experience and I must say it's better than my first one. The organisation, communication and openness is appreciated. I can't say much about the game drive because it speaks for itself.
You can trust Akoms Safaris to deliver a memorable safari.

Really good safari experience, could have been better..!
4/5

My husband and I did a 4 nights 5 days tour with Joagro Safaris. Overall we had a good experience for the entire duration. We visited Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. We loved the whole wilderness experience with our guide Anwar. I would like to detail out day by day experience -

Day 1 - Anwar picked us from the airport on time and dropped at the Hotel Tulia. The drive was pleasant and we loved the greenery around Arusha. The hotel is basic with minimum amenities, Ok for a transit one night stay.

Day 2 - We start around 8.30 am to Ndutu part of Serengeti. I feel it was quite late to start given the distance to cover and time taken to reach. The journey was good, however, we were rushed to the stay inside the Park which was towards Central Serengeti. We did mention we wanted to explore the ndutu side as January season is for migration to be around this area. We fell short by easy two hours, had we started early we would have had more time to spend before reach our camp stay.
Having said the above, the Signature Into the wild stay was breathtaking. The views were gorgeous. food was delicious and staff extremely courteous. We loved the overall experience at this luxury camp stay.

Day 3 - We started at 7.15 from the camp post breakfast, we didn't see many animals to our surprise, the park seemed empty. Our guide didn't do much tracking on this day we felt. Since we didn't see any cheetahs in the park, he said he would take us for another drive outside park to spot them and thus he was trying to rush us out of the park. We exited the park early around 1 pm with expectation of the cheetah spotting as he had mentioned, Upon exit, he took us hardly 2/3 Km towards ndutu lake on the road just on the entrance of the Serengeti gate and he said we must return as he doesn't have permit to take us on that side. We felt cheated as he rushed us out of the park and then did not continue the drive that he mentioned he would. We completely understand its luck to spot animals and it would have been OK that we didn't see cheetahs but we didn't like the misleading and then not following through. Also if we would have known that Ndutu lake needs additional permit we would have been ok to get that permit and spend more time in that area as the park was kind of empty of animals.
Also we had to wait almost 2 hours at the Nabi gate for getting clearance to check out which wasted a lot of time. We saw all other vehicles checking out faster than we did, and we were given a reason that network was slow. I am not sure if that was the real reason.
We reached the Ngorongoro wild camp quite late as our vehicle broke down. People on the way were extremely helpful they helped us alot in this situation. The camp was decent and food was also good.

Day 4 - Our guide was pushing to start for Ngorongoro safari early but he never told us the reason on the previous day that the permit to be in Ngorongoro was only till 3 pm. Again this felt misleading. We started around 7.30 am thinking the Crater is small and we can spend whole day inside looking for animals, however we didn't know about the time limit only till we started our safari on Day 4. If guide had told us in advance we would have planned to start early as he suggested. The ngorongoro safari was good, we spotted many animals. We decided to skip the lunch in the crater to increase our safari time. We only saw two lions, I think the claim that 22 lion families reside in the crater seems bit inaccurate.
Anwar dropped us at the bouganvillea hotel around 4 PM. The hotel was really good and food was super delicious.

Day 5 - We visited the Lake Manyara national park. The park has a dense jungle which was quite nice however we didn't see the tree climbing lions for which it is famous. Our guide told us that its not the season for lions in the park. I think since trip operators are the experts, they should guide tourists with such details while we do our bookings. We google information and plan the trip but if its not the best time to visit a park, then I would expect the expert tell us how to better plan the trip.

One last thing to add - we were promised Complimentary Wine and Beer for the trip but not served even on a single day. Since it was complimentary it felt awkward to ask. It would have been great to be honest and let us know if promised things would not be served for whatever reasons.

Overall the experience was good, Jonas and Anwar were warm and courteous. Only the above few issues left us a little dissatisfied given the amount of money we spent on the whole trip. If the above is addressed then Joagro would be a definitely 5/5 tour operator.
