Incredible - Truly a life changing experience!
The tours I booked with One Horizon Africa were truly life changing. What I love most about this organization is that you are on a grassroots level, making a true impact in someone's life. Moreover, you are able to see the direct impact you are making in their lives. One Horizon's focus is bettering the lives of Africans and I think that is quite apparent.
The tours are fantastic. The people you meet are incredible - so welcoming and open. They want to learn as much about you, as you do them. Not to mention, the tour guides - they are equally fantastic. I spent two days with Carol and just loved her. She was punctual, helpful, polite and beyond knowledgeable.
I have been able to experience a lot of things in my life, but I have never experienced something quite like this. One Horizon left a significant impact on me and I am thankful for that. If you have the opportunity to travel to Kenya, you MUST partake in one of One Horizon's Tours; I promise, it will be one of the most profound days of your life.

Buffalo Safari Camps were excellent: friendly, flexible and knowledgeable. They tailored the trip to fit exactly what I wanted to do, and offered great advice as to how to plan the trip. The guide was superb: knowing all the right people and the right places to go, taking the time to understand what activities would best match what I was interested in seeing. The trip to Kidepo Valley National Park is amazing: an astonishing, remote, beautiful landscape and they made everything work perfectly.

One of the most inspiring experiences in our lives.
The communications from the tour operator were excellent. The trip itself far exceeded our expectations. Meeting and speaking with the women both at the women's center and spending time with Masai women in their homes was one of the best experiences in our lives. We found the women to be open about their difficult lives, and among the most dignified human beings we have ever met. They were working hard to improve their lives and that of their children. They were learning skills that would help them become independent and able to support themselves. They were given emotional and financial support along with training that would change their lives in the difficult environment of where they live. They are truly given a hand up and not just a hand out. This experience was not only inspiring to us but has changed our lives.

Great first hand experience with locals behind the scene
We can very much recommend to book Nairobi excursions with One Horizon. The booking and organisation of the requested tours were handled very professionaly. All mails and questions very quickly responded. The tour gave an authentic picture of the situation of locals in Kenya - a look behind the scene which is for many guests something new and and very touching. You get the feeling that with your contribution - the booking of your excursion you help people who really deserve it - the focus is on people and improving their lives. Money is not wasted in administrative stuff.

My family and I wanted to do a Safari in South Africa, it took a long time to make the decision on what company to go with but we finally decided Viva Safari.
My mum, dad, sister and her boyfriend and myself spent 2 nights at one camp and 2 nights in tree house. The treatment by staff was superb and the drives were such an eye opener and breathtaking when seeing so many diferente animals. Very non artificial, we felt as f we were in middle of nowhere but safe at the same time.
The food and timing was shocking by its quality and variety (probably ate too much).
Overall the trip was a 10/10, a brilliant way to spend a family holiday and an experience of a lifetime.
Recommend it, you will not regret it!

Unique insights on Kenya
My friends and I took The Masai Magic day trip with One Horizon in July of 2019. Â We were headed home from a week on safari when our flight was cancelled and we ended up with an unexpected extra day in Nairobi.
One Horizon was able to put together a day trip for our small group on very short notice.
Our day with One Horizon allowed us to meet a Masai family and to learn about traditional Masai practices. We had fun learning beading, singing, and dancing! But it also allowed us to connect with Kenyans on a personal level. We had the privilege of hearing Agnes's difficult personal story as the sixth wife of an elderly Masai man, learnt about Rispa's struggles to gain a measure of respect and independence, and learnt about One Horizon's work to empower Kenyan women. Â
Caroline, the One Horizon staffer who led our group, made sure that we were comfortable and that we had our needs met on the trip itself. She also gave us insights into the daily life and daily struggles of Kenyans.Â
Highly recommended.
