Very good service from Shondre
4/5

Shondre was helpful in every sense and send me all required maps etc. on short notice.
I just think that the tour operators must go and stay in each of those camps and lodges to have first hand experience. Like all of Goverment run places the park and the camps we visited were really way below standard.
The Nkambeni Tented lodge do have lovely food and dinner buffets. But every night at 2.00'and 5.00"there is trains running past the camp. The noise can wake up the dead.

Un unforgettable trip
5/5

We saved money for several years to catch our dream to go to Africa. Then, more than one year in advance we started to plan the trip in detail, together with the most professional staff from Safarihub.

Of course there was a risk that we created too big expectations. But during the trip and now afterwards when we talk about our adventures, we can easily say that this was above all expectations - the tanzanian people, the wildlife and the excellent food has given us a memory for life.

Dream vacantion
5/5

Overall, a good combination 5 Nights in Ruaha and 4 Nights on Mafia. Would definately consider going back to Ruaha at another time to see it in the dry season.

My generic comment about the trip was Ellie at Safarihub. She provided excellent advice, information, suggested itinaries, alternative and answered a number of silly questions. In fact when BA cancelled our flight back from Dar es Salaam, she even contacted us to see if BA were sorting it out and we were being looking after. we then had a number of text (SMS) exchanges as she check status, etc.

Apart for the BA issues above, everything worked out exactly as planned, being met and escorted between each transfer point.

I would definately consider using Safarihub again and no hesitation recommending to friends, etc.

Day Trip to Chobe National Park
Overall rating
4/5

Chobe National Park is worth visiting only for a day if you do not have time for longer visit. It is easy to access and reach from Zambia and Zimbabwe if you happen to spend time either of these countries. You can find real bushes and secluded areas from Botswana, but Chobe is easy to reach and services are great to support your visit. We visited there on May, 2016 and trip was organized by a local travel agency in Zambia. We were a group of 5 people from Zambia and we joined another group from Zimbabwe (6 people). The morning was spend on the river with the guide who's experience and knowledge were excellent to support a very informative drive. We had coffee, cookies and soft drinks onboard, and we saw a lot of animals in the water and on the banks. There were hippos, elephants, crocodiles, lizards and lot of different kind of birds and the scenery itself was exactly the same you can find from public websites. After the pleasant boat ride, we had a lunch break with decent food in one of the lodges were we had an opportunity to fresh up and rest. Afternoon was spent on a game drive and then we had only a group of 5 in the same car. We basically drove the marked roads in the area and again the guide was excellent. We were able to spot a lot of animals and in this area, animals are quite used to vehicles so they are not running away as soon as you spot them. If you get overwhelmed about the scenery on the river, the view from here to the river is even more spectacular with the number of elephants, hippos, giraffes and other animals you could see in the wide area. The highlight of the visit was when we spotted lions - our guide was able to drive very close and that was one of the best experiences on our three week's trip.
When visiting Chobe like this, keep in mind that it is a public park with many other visitors in the same area and there are self-driving tourists, as well. Definitely you find more bush vibe from private parks but for the day trip this was value for the money.

A dream holiday - the Botswana we would never have experienced with Safari Lifestyles
5/5

Just back from a fantastic trip to Botswana. Our third African Safari - to celebrate the birthday of my wife - the birthday whose number may not be spoken! I came across Roger Turski answering questions about photography on the TA Botswana Forum and his helpful answers convinced me to follow up and see what they could propose.

He came up with three great camps - Islands of Siankaba, for the Victoria Falls; Lebala Camp in the Linyanti Marshes, which has a very strong experience on game; and Jao Camp in the Okavango. This proved an excellent combination of experiences at a reasonable price. We arranged our own flights from Europe, but Roger booked the camps and internal flights. Throughout the process of finalising choices he always came back with fast and complete answers, focused on understanding what we wanted.

Our initial trip was meant to take place last autumn, but we had to postpone. Roger took all this in his stride and was delighted when we returned to him four months later to fix the new date.

His enthusiasm for Botswana flowed through his mails and he was extremely help both on the choices, and recommendations - such as taking a private vehicle in Lebala - to enhance the photographic experience - were always useful. The payment went through smoothly using transfer software that kept things safe and ensured a better exchange rates than visa or the banks.

Roger was expert, motivated and helpful at all times and I'd certainly recommend him to others.

Great Trip with Twaha as a very friendly and most experienced guide
5/5

We went on a great Safari in Murchison Falls National Park with a German Group from Wiehl near Cologne. Because of the great experience of our guide Twaha we were probaby the only group touring that day to see a lion. We also went to rain forests and plantations with him and as a further highlight we went to see the chimpanzees at Budongo Forest Field Station. Whereever we went Twaha knew everybody and was a very friendly and communicative person to be with. He is definitely the best possible guide in Uganda. Highest recommendations!

Look no further for your safari.
5/5

On a friends recommendation my wife and myself chose Shadows for our three day safari to Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. Very helpful advice from Victor and Natasha. Our guide for the trip Mussa was a wealth of knowledge, and having twelve years experience he knew the parks and animals behaviours very well. On our trip, at the end of the wet season when the grasses and vegetation are lush, we did not see leopards, but thanks to Mussa we saw every animal and bird we hoped to see including two black rhino! When our camera charger was damaged during the journey to Dar Mussa made sure it was not a problem, he looked after us wonderfully.

We were collected from Arusha bus station, Victor and Mussa helped us buy our tickets for the return trip to Dar. Our over night stay at a hotel McElly's was comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The Country Lodge at Karatu were we stayed after each day, lived up to its name. Lovely gardens, great showers with hot water and good food. Phoebe and the rest of the staff were also extremely friendly and very attentive.

As to the safaris themselves it's difficult to choose a favourite place. Each one was wonderful in its own way and more than lived up to our expectations. You will not be disappointed! Regarding cost it was probably mid price range, we felt the quality of accommodation and care we received was excellent.
