Amazing Adventure With Axis
My fiance and I did a 4 Day 3 Night Budget Group Sharing Safari in the Masai Mara with Axis.
Everything was seamless from the moment I sent my first enquiry. They were very quick to reply and happily answered all of my questions. I wanted to surprise my fiance with a hot air balloon safari on his birthday and the whole team was involved in making sure he didn't find out until the morning of (allowing me to pay for the balloon separately, rushing me out into a back room after a game drive whilst distracting my fiance so I could be briefed for the balloon ride without him finding out). Cannot thank them enough, he had the most memorable birthday ever.
We opted for the 4WD Safari Landcruiser and I would strongly recommend everybody else does the same, because the roads are very bumpy and muddy if there's been rain. We saw many 2WD cars and even the 4WD Safari vans get stuck.
We were picked up on time on the first day of the safari and taken to the Axis Offices in the CBD to meet our guide and group. For the first two days of the tour our guide was Khalifa- he kept us very entertained with jokes and stories and soon felt like family. His driving is to be commended because as I mentioned the roads were very rough and boggy and we saw countless other Landcruisers get stuck but his experience showed when he navigated the roads effortlessly and kept us out of trouble the entire time! He also worked extra hard to make sure we saw loads of amazing wildlife (which he was very knowledgeable about) including a Black Rhino!!
On our third and fourth day we had a new guide, as our original group was only staying two nights. We joined a new group with our new guide Charles K. Charles was very friendly and accommodating, we were lucky enough to see a leopard, multiple cheetah and over 20 lions due to his expert guidance! His driving also ensured we stayed out of trouble and didn't get stuck in any mud!
Our accommodation was at Lenchada Budget Camp which I cannot recommend highly enough. We were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of this camp considering it's a "budget camp". The tent was HUGE and spotlessly clean, the food delicious and plentiful, hot water always available and plenty of electricity in the mornings and evenings in the common area for charging devices. Special mention to their packed lunch which was extremely generous and tasty.
Overall I would highly recommend anybody considering going on safari in Masai Mara to book with Axis. Their prices are extremely competitive and they obviously know what they are doing. Cannot fault them!
Thank you so much team!

The best experience ever!!!
It was a pleasure to be part of this safari in Tanzania. With Suricata Safaris we had great accommodations. The places was extraordinary. We lost our minds. The food was perfect everywhere and every day. The people who took care of us was so helpful so kind and so smiley every time. All the services was like 5stars hotel services and up!!!
As for our guide was perfect. He didn’t pressure us. He Fixed the program according to our needs. He was fun and polite and explained everything we saw with a lot of details. He was there for any questions we had. If you ever come please ask for Mandela to be your guy. We feel so blessed that we saw so many wild animals and so different landscapes that we can’t forget.
Highly recommended!!!!

Unique and personalized experience
Three-day safari in Akagera. The package offered suited our group. Coordination went smoothly right from the start.
This was the first time we'd tried night game and boat game, and we'll definitely do it again.
Above all, Hermosa Life is truly embodied by its guides. They are genuine, friendly, always looking to maximize your experience and accommodate your needs.

Very helpful and professional
It’s truly a pleasant trip operated by Explorer Kenya. We are lucky enough to see all the big five of Africa. The whole trip is Just two of us in a safari car so it’s quite spacious and personalized.
Our guide and driver is very friendly and knowledgeable for the animals. He will help arrange the plan for the day and prepare the lunch boxes if needed.
All the accommodations are clean and beautiful. Definitely will recommend to friends.

Aussies on Safari with Axis
My partner and I booked a 4 day, 3 night safari through Axis Safaris. Itinerary below:
Day 1: Nairobi > Maasai Mara & Afternoon Game Drive
On the first day, we met Khalifa (Tour Guide) in Nairobi CBD along with a few other tourists on our safari tour, we quickly hit the road and headed out to Maasai Mara at about 8:30am. The drive took about 6.5 Hours which included 2 stops . Upon arriving to the Maasai Mara, Khalifa dropped us all at our accommodation (We stayed at Lenchada Tourist Camp). We checked into our rooms and he let us know we had a few hours to kill before he took us on an Evening Game drive (Roughly 3 Hours). Back at camp by 6:45pm ready for dinner and bed.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive
If you booked the basic Safari package, then Day 2 would be a full day game drive but my partner and I opted to do a Hot Air Balloon Safari early in the morning of Day 2 instead. I would definitely recommend the Hot Air Balloon Safari, just ask Axis and they can organise for you. After the Ballooning finished (Approx 10am) we intercepted the rest of our Safari Tour group to continue on with the full day game drive. Back to camp by 5pm for a short relax before dinner is served.
Day 3: Full Day Game Drive
My partner and I opted to stay for an extra night and do an additional full day game drive so as Khalifa and the rest of our group headed back to Nairobi, we got put in the safe hands of Charles K (Tour Guide). Charles took us out into the park for the full day and back to camp by 5pm.
Day 4: Maasai Mara > Nairobi
We left Lenchada Tourist Camp at 8:30am to head back to Nairobi. Arrived in Nairobi by roughly 3pm
Things to note:
- Khalifa and Charles K are both expert 4x4 drivers so they could get us anywhere in the park and know all the other tour guide drivers so they share intel on where the animals are. It was great having both of them as guides.
- Lenchada Tourist Camp is great, we had a tent with an ensuite, water was hot, food was great, staff were super helpful.
- As an additional extra, I would definitely recommend doing the Hot Air Balloon Safari. Very cool experience and you get a Champagne Breakfast out on the Savannah after which is so cool. Just ask Axis about it and they will organise everything for you!
- I would recommend doing 2 full days out on safari in the Maasai Mara, a fair few people only opt for the 1 full day out in the park but personally I reckon book the 3 Nights, 4 Days Safari will ensure you are satisfied with your wildlife sighting.

My honest review of a Safari trip with the Serengeti African Tours operator
In February 2024 together with my wife and my adult granddaughter we took a Safari trip to Tanzania National Parks. This trip was promised to my granddaughter long ago, but I had no time to fulfill my promise. I am very meticulous about details when I travel, thus I started to read internet to see what people write about their experience. Among others, I found a few good reviews of the company by the name Safari African Tours. In principle I do not fully trust many of the reviews published on Internet but decided to try.
Now after the tour is over, I must say that not only all these excellent reviews of the Safari African Tours are true, but in my many years of business and personal travels I never experienced such a perfect service as provided by the Safari African Tours and personally by its owner and manager Mr. Lucas David!
First of all, Lucas was always available to answer your question and to give some advice. Before the trip I called him through WhatsApp many times and e-mailed him multiple times to receive an answer within 24 hours. Lucas offered many options for the future travel both regarding the price and the schedule. Important, he was never pushy to choose a higher price but let you decide based on your budget. Since both me and my wife are not young, I chose a relatively expensive (at least for my wallet ) private travel for our group of three to visit four National parks including Serenegeti an Ngoro-Ngoro and having a day hiking trip to Kilimanjaro . Now I must say that our travel was worth of every dollar I spent on it. Importantly, Lucas was attentive and responsive not only before the start of the travel, but also after I paid for it on the first day of the travel. Moreover, after our travel was over, we decided spent an extra day in Moshi and Lucas provided us for this day a complimentary hiking to the Materuni waterfalls and visit to te coffee makers that was one of the jewels of the entire trip.
Lucas solved immediately all the smallest problems during the tour that inevitably arise in a 11-day travel making your journey smooth and perfect. Also, it seems that Lucas managed to hire highly professional guides. Our main driver-guide Abu was more than excellent. He was knowledgeable on animals and on Tanzania in general. Although, according to him, he was on Safari more than a thousand times, he was as enthusiastic as us tracing various animals and driving us to where they can be spotted. As the result we have seen all the main animals. Thank you, Abu! Several other Lucas’ staff we met, in particular two drivers by the same name Kelvin were very friendly and helpful, especially one who accompanied us to the Materuni waterfalls!
As a scientist who wrote hundreds of reviews of the works of my colleagues, I know that for fairness one must add a couple of critical notes to improve the future work. But in the case of Lucas’ the Safari African Tours I do not have any critical remarks. I wish he will remain to be as perfect for the future travelers as he was for us.

Produced an incredible safari experience
We had an amazing trip to Camp Moremi in Botswana. The accommodations, food, and tours were all incredible. It was an expensive trip, but overall I found it very worth while. The only downside was the tour company forcing us to use random messaging apps and their own app, which seemed completely unnecessary.
