Karibu by Name and Nature
5/5

'Karibu' is the Swahili word for welcome and although Swahili is not the lingua franca of Uganda, the welcome of the Guest House makes this a very suitable eponym. It was friendly, welcoming, organized, clean, cheerful, flexible, well priced and well located. The Principals, Kevin and Lesley, are well experienced and manage in a very personal way reflecting their experience of what it takes to succeed in tourism in Africa. They also organised our full itinerary including gorilla trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the domestic flights, transfers, meals and accommodation to our complete satisfaction. We were delighted with every aspect of the trip and can thoroughly recommend Experience Uganda and Karibu as the best pathway to gorilla trekking in Uganda.

Simply the Best
5/5

As a couple with milestone birthdays of 60 and 70 we planned a very special trip. After a lot of research and getting quotes from both UK and Tanzanian companies for a safari to Tanzania’s Northern parks we settled on Easy Travel to work with. We are so glad we did as they delivered everything we could have hoped for and more. We decided early on that we would like a private safari with just the two of us and to plan the schedule to see as much of the country and wildlife as possible in a 2 week trip. After many emails this was all planned to meet our needs and our budget. As this was a first time safari we chose a mix of accommodation from large lodges, to small camps covering Lake Manyara, Central and Northern Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and finally Tarangire. We then had 4 days on the beach at Res Kutani.

This was booked for September but due to a family issue we asked to move the dates to October. Chislon, the Easy Travel rep who organised the bookings, managed to switch all 8 accommodation bookings and one internal flight in a matter of days.
We also spent some time looking at the Easy Travel web site to see which of their guides we would like to share our company for such a long period. So glad we asked for Herman who we found to be a really lovely person, kind and caring to our needs but more important so knowledgeable on everything we were seeing. He also worked incredibly hard to provide us with the most fantastic experience either of us had ever had. From day one we felt safe in his company and trusted his judgement. Not only is he a very safe driver his wildlife spotting was incredible. From seeking out the big cats, elephants etc to suddenly pulling up to move a dung beetle to safety from the road, to pointing out a tiny frog hiding in a hole in the river bank. He also told us so much about all the animals and birds that he found for us, filling in lots of detail about how they lived - just amazing. As we were parked next to a very large lion one day he said to Julia ‘if the guide isn’t frightened then you shouldn’t be!’ Tanzania is a beautiful country and every day we were amazed and delighted at what it had to offer

The summarise the customer care we received from everyone at Easy Travel was simply the best and we hope to return in a couple of years and we would love to see Herman and Easy Travel again.

A personal, individually tailored Tour with a great guide.
5/5

The standard packages which Mamaland Safaris provides are full with interesting stops and nice lodges to stay. We booked "Magic of Nature" and Mamaland adjusted the Tour to our wishes, which was great and very uncomplicated. The communication was very good and they provided us with all Information we needed in advance. The Tour itself was amazing, full of very interesting places and our guide had a huge knowledge and could answer almost all our thousands of question about life in Uganda and nature.

Amazing adventures thanks to Matoke Tours!
5/5

I spent months creating the perfect solo trip to Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania and Ilse from Matoke Tours was with me every step of the way. She was there to answer my many many many emails almost daily for months! She helped me create the perfect tour! Her patience was very much appreciated. She even checked in and helped with a few things during the tour! Every detail from the lodges, meals, transfers, gorilla trekking, chimp trekking, golden monkeys and park entrance fees where all taken care of! The tour it self was amazing. Musa was my personal guide in Uganda and Rwanda and he was awesome. I love Musa!! So sweet and humble, very professional, informative and made sure I had the best experience! Each lodge/tent Ilse and I picked out turned out to be great and I was very happy with each place. I felt safe with Musa and in each lodge. No issues! Next I went to Tanzania where Hamdani was my personal guide. Hamdami was also great and very informative!

I very much enjoyed my experience in planning my tour and experiencing every wonderful moment. I will definitely use Matoke Tours again for my next trip to Africa!

Great family safari including big 5 and river safari
Overall rating
5/5

For us it was the opportunity to do a river safari that attracted us to the Selous and our trip up the Rufiji River was a nice change from game drives. The game drives were also excellent with very few other vehicles on the road and they are allowed to go off road which is great fun and allows you to get close to the wildlife. This is not allowed at some other parks. We were lucky to see elephants, lions, hippos and a leopard. There are some spectacular birds too. We stayed at the Serena Selous Camp which we would recommend. Accommodation is in luxury tents and there is a spectacular bar/restaurant/deck which overlooks a watering hole that hippos frequent. The service was attentive but unaffected and the staff even let our boys join in their daily football match. The food was excellent and we had no side effects. Another unexpected bonus of the Selous is that there are no mosquitoes which is one less thing to worry about. The weather was pleasant and not too hot in the last week of August.

Wonderful Trip with Viva Safaris
5/5

Tremisana Lodge
We stayed here one night as part of our Viva Safari's tour. We felt welcomed, the food was lovely and the guides were super. The bush walk, fantastic! The best thing about this stay was Tanya, the warden. Her knowledge of the animals and the reserve was spot on. She didn't just look out for the Big 5 like every other guide, but showed us exactly what we asked to see.

Marc's Camp - Treehouse
Welcoming staff, well cooked local food, well organised excursions, cheap bar!
A good trip for young couples of a budget, also idea for single travelers.
It is potluck which room you are given on arrival. They vary in size, some are with en-suite some you have venture outside to the loo. We were very lucky with room 7. Ideal sport for views and en-suite.
Can be creepy at night, you can hear the hyenas calling walking in the dark to your room! We also head a lepoard kill and eat a monkey at 2am.
Not a luxury stay, but a once in a lifetime experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. All the basic needs are met, comfortable, warm showers and hot food.
TIP - if going in the winter, take LOTS of layers. It is COLD at night.

Awesome company to do tours and safari with! Couldn't be any happier!!
5/5

My husband and my friends all used Afrishare trekking for the Mt. Kilimanjaro hike and also for our safari trip.
The Mt. Kili. hike was organized and we wee able to summit. We also came back down the same day only because we wanted to!

We also were able to do the Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater, amboseli national park all in one trip!
They were bale to work with us on a price that will fit out budget. All our guides/drivers were excellent and knowledgeable! Thank you again Tom, Sam and Fredy!!!

The accommodation were great and everything was included all the food. Drinks usually aren't at the hotels/camps. Camping was more like luxury glamping.

I will be recommending all my NYC friends to use Afrishare trekking and will be using them again for my future trips! thanks again Ibrahim for organizing everything and being so efficient and quick to get back to me! you are the man!

Amazing Experience
5/5

I don't even know where to begin. The overall experience right from coordinating with Ute on my requirements up until experiencing the trip was extraordinary. Ute has been very helpful in planning this trip and helping out by providing as much information as possible. The trip was as per schedule which was perfect since we knew what was happening each day. The accommodation was luxurious and comfortable and the hotel staff was amazing in every aspect. The safari guides whether to Kruger or to Sabi Sands were very informative and helpful and ensured that we had the best experience ever. I would recommend Roho Ya Chui and Ute Sonnenberg to anyone as I had my first best experience with them and I'm sure that this won't be my last experience with them.
