I highly recommend Joe from Aslili Explorer as your tour guide for an African safari. I went on a 4 night Serengeti tour him and it was an amazing experience. He's from Arusha and has many years of experience as a tour guide and operator - so you are in great hands. He picked me up from my hotel in Arusha and dropped me off at the airport on my way to Zanzibar. His vehicle is clean and roomy - he has free water, snacks, and wifi throughout the entire trip. He has guidebooks and binoculars as well. He is also very knowledgeable about the area - from the terrain, to the wildlife and climate, to the animals and migratory patterns - he knew where the game drives were and how to get there. He doesn't just do the same trip every time. He tailors your experience to the time period and the current environment, so that you can get the maximal experience possible. We even went out before sunrise one morning because I wanted to catch a lion hunt down some zerbras! He's also a smart and funny dude and his English is very good. There were no hidden fees/costs and the lodging's were all the same as in the itinerary.

Idube was wonderful. Guides did a wonderful job with the guests. All was amazing. I gave 3 stars for birding as September was not the time of year for birding...we knew that going in.

The landscapes are beautiful. Some parts are desert-like and the other lush, green wetlands - topped with views of Kilimanjaro! Extraordinary! This place stole my heart!

About: Tanzania
Amazing country, more than just the big five
Overall rating
4/5

We went to Tarangire park, Lake Manyara, Serengeti park, Ngorongoro crater, (and we ended our trip in Zanzibar).

Every single places we visited has different features, each places amazed us. We never get bored from the sceneries. We saw a lot of beautiful animals, not only the big five.. but also many beautiful birds (small & big). We were surrounded by various mammals and birds. Animals walks around and do their usual activies and completely ignore the human. We were also so lucky to also spot reptiles (like agama lizard, monitor lizard, pink spitting cobra, leopard turtle).
We stayed in lodge, and camp/tent, were great. We ate very good food. The touristic places has good facilities. Clean toilet in all parks with running water. Nothing to complain! Guides are knowledgable and friendly.
Zanzibar is such a beautiful small island surrounded by torquise water. We did Blue Safari, worth to do! Doing walking tour in Stone Town is also recommended.
Tanzania has many beautiful souvenirs. But, most of the shops do not put the price tag, the seller decide the asking price (much overpriced) the time you ask for it. So, we personally found it irritating to bargain for a descent price (not too cheap, but also not a rip-off).

Overall, we have a beautiful unforgettable memory of Tanzania trip
