For sand lovers <3
Overall rating
5/5

Driving from Windhoek to Sesriem entrance gate was one of the most liberating things I'v done in a long time. We rented a 4x4 Toyota Hilux in Windhoek, packed out things and drove into the wild. No guide, only our guide book.

First stop was Desert camp in Sossusvlei, just outside theNamib Naukluft National Park entrance . The camp has a gas station next door equipped with cold beer, ice cream, bbq stuff and outside the store by the camping tables a mist raining over you when you're eating your ice-cream. Big plus in the heat.

Gates open between 6.00-6.45am (depending on season), but be at the gate at least 15-20 min before. We came just 5 min before and had a whole caravan before us waiting at the gate.

The morning drive was just amazing, no pot holes, red dunes, a few oryxes running in the sun rise. We drove to the Sossusvlei area to do the morning desert drive, prepared to do it ourselves in out powerful 4x4. Arriving to the end of the tarmac road though we spotted the first 4x$ stuck in the sand, we quickly decided to take the park service. No doubt would it been fun to drive around in the sand, but the heat comes quickly and if you want to save time and energy, take the service.

Hiking in the sand is tough, bring water, sun screen and a hat. Arriving to Deadvlie we spotted a beautiful fashion shooting taking place, which says something about the scenery. If you are planning to hike up the Sossusvlei dune, do that in the early morning.

Solitaire is a great stop on the way, great coffee and apple cake and a lot of vintage cars having out in the back ground makes great scenery.

Had a great time on a we really well organised Safari
5/5

The details of the safari were communicated very clearly and informatively in the build up to the safari. We were met in Arusha by Mike who talked us through the fine details and was always around to help. Our guide and chef for the 3 days were excellent and a pleasure to spend time with. As for the safari, well I don't think you can have a bad experience visiting some of the best safari destinations in the world. Thoroughly recommend!

Massai Mara tour
4/5

John was very helpful and more than open to any questions regarding the tour. He also helped us purchase stuff since our bags did not arrive at the airport, The downside of our tour was that our car was completely full, while others seemed to be in a more comfortable position for watching the animals and take photos. This also proves that many people choose for ACZ too! Also, we went for the option of staying at a Masai village for a night, but it had an additional cost of $60 for two persons; this seems a bit steep for what you are getting in return. Sure it is interesting learning from these people and experiencing this way of life briefly.

Best Holiday Ever
5/5

After researching and going through tons of information on the internet, I settled for VNT as my choice. They were a perfect fit for us regardless of what we were looking for, pricing and location. In writing this review, I can say that VNT was the best decision I made. They were very prompting in answering or responding to questions via the email. We sent our deposit and booked with view nature tours due to this warm welcome.

Awesome experience! Best vacation ever!
5/5

This vacation was a dream come true for me...and Benson Safaris did a great job of making it happen! They responded very quickly and completely to our requests for information. They were extremely helpful in helping us design the trip we wanted within our budget and they came through beautifully on everything that was promised! Our guide was amazing, extremely knowledgeable, great fun, and he took great care of us every moment of our 10 days on safari! Our cook was wonderful as well...and he makes the best soup ever! We were well-fed and well cared-for every step of the way from the moment they picked us up at the airport to the moment they dropped us off. It was an amazing vacation! Thanks so much Benson! And thank you to your amazing team for an experience I'll never forget!

The safaris were excellent, especially the guides at the Tremisana Lodge (Tania was the best)..
4/5

The Safaris and the guides were excellent. A comment has to be made about the accomodation standards. The chalets in the Tremisane lodge are in urgent need for renovation. We stayed in chalet no. 1. We were not looking for luxury but it was very basic and very small for two persons...the aircondition worked for only one night and that was it so we had to use the ceiling fun. Very hot at nights so sleeping in the chalet was uncomfortable. The bathroom tabs did not run well and all in all the bathroom itself was not of good standard..Dinner was traditional and good, breakfast was average.. The swimming pool is not usable, full of insects and the water was dirty.. One last point.. could not understand why we had to pay an additional 25 rand fee to enter the Balula gate.. already paid over 16,300 rand..These comments are for you to improve your standards...

Overall Good Budget Safari Expierence
4/5

We booked our very short budget safari with Shika and they offer a great price / value proposition. We hit a few organizational snags while we there, which were all solved adequately and can only be partly attributed to Shika. We had a whole Land Cruiser to ourselves (awesome) and Sam was a good/safe driver and did a great job with the limited time we had.

Overall we had a good time and were satisfied with booking and the experience.

Tip for other travelers: plan in three full days, we attempted to do it in two (half manyara, full ngorongoro crater, half tarangire) and it was not enough time to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

About: Epic Tours
Romantic trip
4/5

Our safari with Epic Tours was for us a Lifetime experience. It was our honeymoon and Epic Tours made it really "EPIC". We travelled through Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire. We really enjoyed observing a lot of animals (the lions were great!) and especially Ngorongoro Crater was one of our highlights. We had our lunch in the parks and everything was perfectly arranged and very delicious. As experienced safari-travellers we were amazed that not only Tanzania is such a beautiful country, but also that the service offered by Epic Tours was from the first contact to the last day of our stay welcoming, friendly and professional. Thanks again for this great time!
