My safari with Bushdrifters exceeded all of my expectations--what an extraordinary company!
I can't say enough about Bushdrifters! In preparing to go on Safari with a friend, the two of us were advised that the most important factor to consider was getting a really great guide. Bushdrifters provided that and more. In addition to having encyclopedic knowledge of nature in Tanzania--the animals, the plants and the terrain, Patrick--our guide--also has a deep respect for, and love of, the natural world. In addition, he was kind and thoughtful, has a great sense of humor, and always had an eye out for our safety. What's also great about Bushdrifters is that they will work with you to plan the kind of Safari you want and they will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs.
Bushdrifters recommended three lodges for us to stay in--and they were all great. They chose lovely, small lodges and camps in wonderful settings. We took their first recommendations, because each place they chose fit our preferences and our budget, but they are also able to work with people who want fancier or more basic accommodations. Also, while we met other travelers in the lodges, we were alone with Patrick on all of our game drives and in our transfers from place to place.
Finally, we were pleased that Bushdrifters is a Tanzanian company and that by booking with them we were supporting the local economy. In addition, booking a Safari directly with them eliminates having to pay a company outside of Tanzania acting as an agent for the Safari guides there. For that reason, it was significantly less expensive for an equivalent, or much better, experience.

Almost there but something is just not right
Throughout the planning stages Gosheni was very helpful and overall the safari was nice. But I am writing this review with mixed emotions. During the planning process there was a huge emphasis placed on the company having new vehicles and permanent guides. The vehicle that we had for our safari was fantastic and new, but it was not owned by Gosheni. Instead they had subcontracted our safari to another company. The guide was friendly and gave us a great trip but is not a an employee of Gosheni, and instead works for another company. In the end we were delivered with a great trip, but I am left with a bit of a sour taste. Their website is really focused on how great they are because they employ the best guides. They claim to be a reliable and honest operator.
We traveled in low season so it still seems very strange that they subcontracted our trip to another company, named Masai Safaris. I read several bad reviews about companies that Sub-contract safaris to other companies and the mess it can end up it. So we specifically chose a company that seemed to run their own trips. Apparently this is not the case, so I can't recommend this company even though the safari was well planned and delivered.
Responsive, pleasant, accommodating and professional
This was my second several day wildlife tour with Clive from Johannesburg to Kruger. His knowledge of the habits and habitat of the animals is impressive and his love of Kruger is infectious. Big five? Two out of two early on the second day. And that just scratches the surface of what there is to see and learn in the park and nearby areas.

Everything was PERFECT! This experience exceeded all our expectations!
Everything with our booking and with the tour itself went PERFECT!
We had an amazing time at Delta Camp and enjoyed every minute of it. From the communication through email, over contacting Khwai and making sure everything will go smoothly, Jibha did a great job in setting up an unforgettable experience for us. We also feel especially grateful for the upgrade that we received which made it even more special. It exceeded all our expectations and we will definitely book another experience with Jibha Safaris in the near future. Highly recommended!

Excellent service
We booked our 4 day safari trip for Masai Mara and Nakuru with Heritage of African jungles. One of our friends recommended them to us and after exchanging many mails we decided to book our trip with them. Naomi patiently answered our queries and gave us a good tailor made plan. Naomi received us in the airport and made us feel welcome to their country. Our driver Francis was excellent. He has good knowledge of the wild ..was very friendly and disciplined .He showed us all the big 5 and made the trip very memorable for us. We highly recommend their services and are looking forward for our next Africa trip with them in a couple of years.

A great safari in Southern Africa very well organised by Compass Odyssey
We were a party of four just returned from a fantastic safari in Botswana (Okavango Delta and Chobe River) and Victoria Falls, organised by Crusty and Kate Humphrys of Compass Odyssey. From the first contact Crusty was attentive and obliging, listened to our preferences and constructed an itinerary that suited our timetable and budget very well and proved to be excellent value for money. The pre-safari information pack was comprehensive, very informative and current and proved to be invaluable - and also correct in every detail! The accommodations selected by Crusty were small, boutique style and very comfortable. This was particularly important in the Delta (Pom Pom Camp) and Chobe River (Garden Lodge) where the numbers accommodated were small and on safari drives and river cruises we were the only occupants of the vehicle or boat. This contrasted with other vehicles and boats which carried much larger groups. This allowed ample opportunity for viewing and photography - which is what a safari is all about! The guides associated with the lodges were amazing in their ability to track and find animals and their knowledge of animals and birds was extraordinary. For us it was also reassuring to see how careful they were for our safety, both in driving and approaching wildlife. We saw an amazing variety of wildlife and the Delta was full of water and absolutely beautiful. We were transported by road from Chobe (Kasane) to Victoria Falls by the Compass Odyssey agent (Mortimer) who assisted with the border crossing into Zimbabwe (and later into Zambia) and stayed with us, taking us to see the magnificent falls and also to a local village and market where we learned much about traditional life in Zimbabwe. The hotel at Victoria Falls (Batonka Guest Lodge) was new and quite luxurious, with great staff and food - in fact, the staff and food at each of the sites were excellent. The whole safari went without a hitch and Crusty tracked us via email to make sure all was going well. I highly recommend Compass Odyssey for anyone looking for a truly personalised safari that is also very good value.

One of the best
I stayed in two different places, one just outside of the park (Wildlife Camp - which is good value for money, situated in a preservation area) and one bush camp (Nkonzi - an affordable and very stylish lodging). It was the second time I came here for a whole week. Don't expect to see cheeta or rhino, but apart from those species you'll get to see almost every animal you can think of. Leopards almost every day, bunches of wild dogs, lions, southern grounded hornbill ... The night drives are incredible. especially our guide at Wildlife Camp knew sounds and tracks so well he managed to give us incredible sightings. Bushbabies, servals, a civet, leopards, chasing lions, ... The walking safari guides are also very knowledgeable and an absolute must if you visit this park.
