We can do nothing but highly recommend Susan from Discover Africa. What an amazing trip!? Thank you!
5/5

We have always wanted to visit South Africa after numerous friends recommended various parts and experiences. On first looking, we were clueless about where to start and what to include in our time frame of 10 days. Discover Africa came to the rescue when I came across their website and various suggested itineraries, so I made contact and Susan got back to me promptly. Within a few emails and video calls, our entire trip, transfers, tours and hotel stays were booked and planned for us. What a trip this was!!

We started in Cape Town, staying at a gorgeous hotel at the V&A waterfront, The Queen Victoria. This boutique, stylish hotel with pool and spa, stands on a small hill overlooking the main hub of shops, bars and restaurants. By no means was it noisy but a safe distance from which we could walk down to the area when needed. Our time at the hotel was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and attentive; we highly recommend breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Time Out market and Table Mountain. Whilst here we had several private booked tours of the Cape (with the amazing Reginald from African Eagle tours) and a half day tour of Cape Town itself. The latter included Table Mountain cable car tickets - albeit a misty day, our schedule was tight to come back, so we went through with it. The views below the clouds that day were breathtaking.

We moved onto the Franschhoek Country House & Villas, after a 50 minute private transfer from Cape Town. WOW! What a picturesque setting with a fantastic team running this gorgeous hotel. We enjoyed local wine and bubbles around the pool with lunch, then I had a great massage at the spa. The town itself is close by, we walked on one morning but most of the time availed of the hotels shuttle which runs on demand whenever needed. Such beautiful architecture and lots of options for food, drinks and coffee. We dined in town one night then at the hotels restaurant on another. Both lovely meals, with friendly staff. We have nothing negative to say! The wine tram was a great way to visit local vineyards for tasting. We visited 3 and had such a great time learning and sampling the local produce. We need to now order some to have it shipped home!!! You must visit the wine district on any trip to South Africa.

We took a 2 hour internal flight up to Kruger for a 3 day safari. Susan arranged for us to stay in the presidential suite at the Karongwe River Lodge on the Karongwe Private Reserve. We hadn't a clue what to expect on safari, but the team made us feel so welcome, took every care to meet any request and their attention to detail was second to none. From them collecting us from the airport, right through to daily breakfast, changing the location and set up for dinner around the hotel each night, to the twice daily 3 hour game drives - we were blown away. Our room was palatial, with our own pool and terrace overlooking a watering hole next door. We observed frequent animals visiting during our mid afternoon naps before the evening safari drive. Our safaris were unreal. The guide Jack and tracker Raimundo were professional, knowledgeable and comical. We had one of the best experiences on safari than we have ever had on any holiday. We were genuinely sad to leave.

After a short flight to Johannesburg to stay overnight before our flight back to the UK, Susan arranged transfers and a stay at the stylish Da Vinci Hotel in Sandton. We had a massive corner suite, and an amazing breakfast. The hotel is adjacent to the mall leading to Nelson Mandela Square. It was safe to walk around and there were plentiful options for dinner.

All in all our trip was fabulous. I could not fault it and cannot thank Susan and Discover Africa enough. I highly recommend you book with them for a well organised, personalised and once-in-a-lifetime experience for your trip. We cannot wait to tell our friends and family all about it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

A PERFECT Rwanda wildlife experience with Dady and Hermosa Life Tours
5/5

I traveled with Dady from Hermosa Life Tours for a one-day Gorilla tour and a 2-day Akagera NP tour in February 2024. In short: 10/10!!! Dady and Hermosa Life Tours exceeded ALL of my expectations. From the ease of booking to the comfort and cleanliness of their vehicles to the access to the parks my tours were perfect. I booked on fairly short notice but Hermosa Life was extremely responsive and got estimates and confirmations back to me within a few hours (even with a 10 hour time difference!).

On the days of my tours Dady was punctual and such a professional. I was so fortunate to find a fellow bird watcher and Dady helped me add over 60 new species to my life list at Akagera and Volcanoes, including some major lifers like Ross' turacos and crested barbets. I learned so much about the parks, conservation in Rwanda, and culture and language from Dady over the three days of tours. I can't recommend Dady highly enough as a guide for anyone interested in wildlife, especially birders!

For anyone going on the Akagera overnight tours, the stay at Ruzizi Tented Lodge is an incredible experience. The staff was welcoming and so friendly. The tents are luxurious and very comfortable and the food... oh my gosh, the food is incredible. The chef made a vegetarian dinner for me off the menu (stuffed pumpkin). Hippos and crocodiles swim right by the dining dock and might even appear in front of your tent (very safely... they can't get inside :)

We're already planning to bring friends to Rwanda next summer and I look forward to booking with Hermosa Life and Dady again soon!

Best Birthday Ever!!!
Overall rating
5/5

I was in Cape Town (don’t miss!!!) for a couple of weeks for vacation and decided to go to Kruger and the surrounding area for three days and two nights while I was there. I was a bit concerned about the price, but Mo-Africa Tours was super helpful answering my questions and helping me book an inclusive but super affordable trip. It was amazing!!! Someone picked me up from the airport and took me to my beautiful camp where a fabulous pool and clean and comfortable tent/room with private bath and shower were waiting for me. After I settled in, we went right out into the bush and saw elephants and giraffes and lions right away! A group dinner followed, and I met some awesome wonderful fellow travelers. The next day was my birthday. After spending the day seeing a ton of animals (4 of the Big 5) in Kruger with Mr Sands (shout out to the best guide in So Africa!!) I had a bit of relaxing time in the pool before our dinner. They had a birthday cake and everyone sang the Birthday Song to me and made me feel special. It was so kind and thoughtful! The last day I chose to see the surrounding sights with Blyde Canyon, Lisbon Falls, the Potholes, etc. Amazing!! Then they got me back to the airport to continue reminiscing about those fabulous days which I will remember forever!!

We’ve been visiting South Africa for 8 years now and never get tired of the sightseeing, food and wine. There is so much to do and the scenery and wildlife are amazing. You can’t visit without driving up the garden route and stopping off at the many vineyards. So beautiful. We feel like we’re home as soon as we step off the plane. There’s so much to do and experience. The people are wonderful and so helpful. We plan our return as soon as we get back to the UK.

Review about Kruger National Park by Patricia Drew

The parks we visited during our stay were varied. The first evening safari we didn’t see the animals we hoped. However the full day drive the following day made up for this. We saw everything we hoped to, mainly the Hippis and Giraffes. Was a wonderful experience.

Excellent service, thank you very much
5/5

Despite our challenges with climbing and our limited English skills, the journey was really exciting. With our guide, Frank, who has been doing this for 25 years, we climbed Mount Kilimanjaro together. Even though we struggled sometimes, Frank's encouraging songs, like "Hakuna Matata," kept us going and made the climb feel fun.

After coming down from the mountain, the team helping us plan our trip made everything easy. They were so friendly and helped us explore the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, where we saw amazing animals like lions and giraffes. It was like being in a movie!

One of the best parts was visiting Materuni. Even though we didn't speak much English, the locals were so kind and welcoming. We got to try delicious coffee and learn about their culture. It was a peaceful break after our adventures.

The team who organized our trip made sure everything went smoothly, even though we were beginners. They really cared about making our experience unforgettable. We're so grateful for their kindness and expertise.

Amazing! Had the best time and would recommend!
5/5

My friend and I had the most amazing time on this tour. As two young backpackers, our budget was limited but Peak Cruise Safaris provided such an amazing tour at an affordable rate. We did 2 days and managed to see elephants, giraffes, leopards, lions, buffalo, hippo and crocs! Also we did the rhino sanctuary which was amazing! Our driver Abdul was amazing, a great guide and looked after us well! Jennifer was very helpful and organised it very effectively for us (even answering all my pestering questions!) We thoroughly appreciate you both and the tour company as we had a blast! Would recommend!!
