Spectacular safari in Masa Mara with great service!
5/5

Just finished a 4-day budget safari in Masai Mara and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Allan M. was very helpful and responsive throughout the booking and arrangement process, and our tour operator gave us the best experience possible over the four days, demonstrating expertise and experience during the game drives and providing substantial knowledge on the wildlife. I would highly recommend Back of Africa for a safari, especially for those traveling on a budget.

The 3 weeks in Africa were very well organized and carefully planned. Detail on guides, safaris, flights, hotels, meals, activities!!! Everything went smoothly, and we felt very safe and cared for.
The week in Paris was lovely. Driver, Hotel, guide, planned meals, Eiffel Tower... and Beatrice our Host made everything come together perfectly for our 5 days.
there is so much to go back and see again and to further explore in all parts of Africa!
We will be back to Africa again and find Dana East Africa Safari Travel Company to plan our next amazing adventure.

Review about Serengeti National Park by Toffael Rashid

This genuinely is the real deal! There is no place to hide in the Serengeti, so little shade from the scorching sun, animals who live within the park have to fight for the right to live every day. The open plains are verging on spiritual, and when the migrating grazers are in residence, it feels like a scene from the garden of Eden.
If you look hard enough, you'll see things you never dreamt of: huge family groups of elephants, vultures feasting on expired animals, baboons fighting with leopards, cheetahs sprinting across the plains for a kill. Mesmerising memories that will last for the rest of your life.

Amazing but also abit like Disney land, its almost too good to be true! You'll see the big 5 within an hour and the landscape is very dramatic. But its quite poor for birding and also feels abit enclosed and claustrophobic compared to other parks.

Perfect introduction to East African Safari
Overall rating
5/5

Lake Manyara was my first ever visit to a safari trip in Africa. I did not know what to expect, but within moments of entering, I was welcomed by 100s of baboons, birds and a pair of elephants!

Over the course of the next 10 hours, I saw many changing landscapes: forestry, open plains, grasslands, swamplands and of course the lake itself. Each supported its own eco system and food chain and all were teeming with life.

There were so many types of birds, culminating with 100s of beautiful pink flamingoes. Likewise, the grazers were very well represented to plenty of zebra, gazelles and antelopes. And of course there were many giraffe and a few elephants and hippo's too! I was certainly not disappointed with the amount of animals that were always close by.

However, what I enjoyed most about Lake Manyara was the lake itself. It was an amazing scenic backdrop for life in the bush. All in all, Lake Manyara was the perfect introduction to Africa's wildlife and a perfect place to quickly learn and get ones bearings before moving onto the more famous Ngorogoro and Serengeti parks. Im certainly glad I did it first.

Tanzania'a parks are well organised and have amazing wildlife They also very good hotels and very good public toilets in every park! My only gripe is the cost which seems very high.

We were overwhelmed by the whole experience
5/5

While planning the safari, we appreciated the rapid and full answers to all our queries - and never having travelled in Africa before, we had many! Throughout the trip all our transfers were efficient. Our safari driver/guide, Dickson, and the cook/expert in all things, Paskal, were excellent. Pascal's skill in presenting varied, delicious and plentiful food with very limited equipment was admirable, and his cheerfulness, ingenuity and energy really added to our enjoyment. Dickson's patience with all my questions, his kindness when my husband's mother became very ill in Australia, and his tireless efforts keeping our vehicle functioning on such rough roads was extraordinary. Once a leaf spring broke, and our two heroes managed a temporary repair which enabled us to carry on, as well as providing us with unexpected entertainment.
We saw many, many more animals than we expected. Sometimes we were so close to the action e.g. mating lions, or vultures feeding on a buffalo carcass, that it felt like a tv documentary. The vast beauty of the Serengeti, the herds of elephant, wildebeest, zebra, and the various types of antelope, as well as all the friendly people we encountered made for a magical holiday.

Accommodation: The staff and accommodation at Christina's House in Arusha were very pleasant. On our return visit there were some problems with availability of water, but Helen and Christina could not have been more helpful. We liked the room at the back on the ground floor best, as it was quieter. Christina even took me shopping!
We slept very well in the tent - and the shower and variable toilet facilities of the public campsites really added to the adventure!
Hiliki House in Zanzibar was very comfortable and beautifully furnished - and the breakfast was wonderful. It would have been helpful to have known we needed shorts or similar and beach shoes for the trip to Prison Island, but that was a minor issue.
Nungwi was a bit of a disappointment after all our previous positive experiences in Tanzania. We had marvelled at the lack of rubbish in the landscape, but there was a lot of litter (and too many touts) there. I presume it was because of the number of tourists present. The accommodation at Amaan Bungalows was very pleasant, and the food reasonably priced.
