We had an amazing experience
5/5

When we first thought about a trip to Tanzania it seemed quite complex and confusing, google search was flooded with tons of info and hundred of agencies. We were a group of friends ,
Then in some travel blog I saw Gypsy Tours company mentioned and decided to give a shot.
From the first message the manager was very knowledgeable, reacted fast and built a feeling of trust.
So, first of all I would like to tell that we are very grateful ,communication with us during the preparation phase and further.
The car for safari was clean, equipped with wifi , snacks and water. All the accommodations were comfortable and cozy.
Separately a super huge thank to our Safari guide , professional, easy going, attentive to the road and always happy to show animals and tell the interesting facts about wild nature.

They arranged a private car for me and my boyfriend, only for two of us. We changed our hotel the last three nights, the driver and the office kind and drive us safely to our hotel.

Helpful, beuatiful lodgings and incredible safari experience!
5/5

Mdluli lodge were so helpful. The emails were prompt and let us know the details of the different options to help us decide. They even accomodated a last minute request to change departure time on the final day when we realised we needed to back in Joberg earlier

Th Lodge itself was beautiful. On both times we relaxed by the pool we so Bull Elephants casually walking past across the river beyond the fence! The tents were spacious, comfortable, and airconditioned.

Our safaris were both incredible. We went on the sunset drive the day we arrived. It was mainly elephants, local deer, and finished with a drink near a lake that was home to three hippopatami
Th next day we went deeper into Kreuger on the 10 hour all day game drive as we wanted to maximise our chances of seeing the big five. We were incredibly lucky and saw all big 5, two times over! 2 lepoards, 9 lions (across two prides), two groups of buffalo and rhino + countless elephants. Our guide was fun, skilled at in looking out for animals and always made sure we had enough food and water. Just a note, you need to let them know if you want to do the game drives a couple hour prior - so if youre arriving just before the 2pm-6pm Kreuger drive I recommend emailing them ahead of time to let them know

Overall I couldn't recommend Mdluli lodge more highly!

James & Jimmy are really helpful in planning and executing the safari and communication is prompt.
All the accomodations are great.
Jimmy is super skilled as a driver on really difficult roads and his animal spotting skills are excellent along with information given about animals. All safaris start on time and are wonderfully and safely executed.
My only issue was with the food options at the camp in Amboseli. And the food given on budget safaris is less too. Carry snacks if you are a big water.

Memorable Tanzania Safari For A Solo Traveller
5/5

From the very early stages of our communication, Mary from Gilmag Safaris was a professional tour consultant who understood what I wanted and designed a few packages for me to choose from. Frequent contact and continuous feedback in order to deliver the best possible itinerary was the reason I trusted Gilmag Safaris for my safari experience.

Not only did Mary provide an excellent and comfortable trip, but she also stayed in touch with me in order to make sure that everything went as planned.
The guide, Prosper, who picked me up on arrival was incredibly knowledgeable and gave an amazing start even prior to entering the park. I was given vast knowledge about the area, the animals, and the experience that fueled my imagination.
The three accommodations (Moivaro, Maramboi and Kubu Kubu) that Gilmag Safaris arranged for me were fantastic. The staff were wonderful and attentive. I had the same tour guide each time - who was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. Everyone I met went the extra mile to attend to me.
By the end of the trip I was already planning on returning to Tanzania! I highly recommend Gilmag Safaris no matter what your trip purpose is. I will definitely use them for my next adventure!

An excellent tour provider - every effort made to ensure a wonderful and trouble-free holiday
5/5

We made a return trip to Zimbabwe 25 years after last going there. Our research suggested that this time we needed to partner with a tour company and Mana pools.com proved a good choice. A whatsapp call with Ant Bown established an itinerary which was refined with a further call and messages - 4 nights camping at Mana Pools and a further 2 days sailing on Lake Kariba. Ant provided us with a fully equipped 4x4 vehicle and linked us with a driver who would also manage the logisitics of travel, setting up camp and catering and generally trouble shooting. This worked very well. We were able to relax and watch the countryside roll by while our driver negotiated the potholes and traffic. At Mana Pools we camped by the Zambezi in a comfortable tent with basic but adequate amenities near by. The camp is unfenced and we were visited by an elephant investigated our dinner table on the first night and every night by grazing hippos. We also had to watch out for monkeys stealing our food and belongings. We woke at dawn each day to go for a game drive and we would go out again at the end of the day. The game was plentiful and we saw most of the larger animals in the park, inluding many elephant, a pride of lions, and a pack of rarely see wild (painted) dogs. During the middle of the day we relaxed in camp, watching birds and the life of the river. As we visited in early March, we were ahead of the main safari season and had the camp almost to ourselves. It would have been more crowded in subsequent months. We also had hotter weather than during the winter months, with temperatures well into the 30sC during the day. For the last part of our trip we transferred to Kariba to spend 2 days sailing on the lake in Greg Hall's catamaran Biriwiri. Being on the water was cooler but we had to watch out for sunburn from above and below (reflected off the water). Highlights of the trip included camping on an island with dinner on the beach and barefoot walks, game spotting from the boat with wonderful sightings of a baby elephant with it's family group and a parade of bull elephants crossing from an island to the mainland ahead of us, a swim in the lake (well away from the crocodiles) and sleeping under the stars on the deck of the boat. We spent a night at each end of the trip in the Sunbird Guesthouse in Harare, headquarters of Manapools.com, the first night incuding an alfresco dinner with Ant and our driver to run through the itinerary. Manapools.com did a great job for us.

We did the midrange 3 day Jambo tour. The safari was wonderful and the accommodations were great! loved the hotel and the food they served. Our tour operator was very nice and made sure we saw the big 5, except the Rhino but he did look for it for us!
