Awesome Safari with Africa Adventures Safaris
5/5

We booked a ten day tour in June with Africa Adventure Safaris and have nothing but positive feedback regarding them. We dealt with Nicholas via email and found him to be helpful and accommodating from the outset. We did have our concerns about visiting certain parts of Uganda, particularly the areas along the border with DRC, however, Nicholas was able to provide up-to-date advice and assurances. We therefore arranged an itinerary including Murchison Falls NP, Kibale Forest, QENP and Bwindi Forest thus ensuring that we would be able to fully experience the variety of Uganda's natural environments and wildlife. Nicholas took care to provide an itinerary that would meet our requirements and provide us with the best possible experience, for example by recommending the Chimp Habituation Experience over the tracking. Prior to departing for Uganda we paid the full amount via Pesapal which seems to be the Ugandan equivalent to PayPal. This worked flawlessly and Nicholas was able to quickly confirm receipt of the payment. On arrival at Entebbe airport we were met by our guide and driver, Douglas who throughout the trip proved to be knowledgable, caring, humorous and above all extremely professional. Douglas advised that he had been working in the tourist industry for 20 years and his expertise and experience was apparent throughout the trip. He kept up-to-date with the situations in the national parks giving us the best chance of spotting all of the animals that we wanted to see (including giraffes, elephants and hippos in Murchison Falls and lions in QENP). Moreover, the relationships that he has established with locals over the years ensured that we received the best of service in all of the lodges etc: we were even given preference in terms of choosing the gorilla group that we wanted to track in Bwindi. Overall, we had an awesome adventure in Uganda and would highly recommend Nicholas, Douglas and Africa Adventure Safaris!

Was fantastic. So professional and value for money. We were looked after everywhere we went
5/5

Everything from start to finish was so professional. From the planning of our trip till well past the final date. The drivers and the team went out of there way to make sure we saw everything we wanted while we were in Tanzania. Our driver made us feel like part of the family with specially purchased picnic gear for tea and coffee on the run. They went out of their way to ensure we got to our next destination which was not even part of their tour so we were very thankful. We got some amazing photos which we were able to share with the team after we got home. Thanks guys

CrissCross Safaris is an affordable, well organised and experienced operator.
5/5

A short overview of my 2014 Safari in Namibia with Cory and Julie.

Thanks to the pleasant atmosphere, courtesy of CrissCross Safaris, the tour consisted of one highlight after another.

The landscapes were impressive and cycled like a screen saver through thick bush, open grassy plains and red dunes in the Namib desert. Wild animals came to make our acqaintance around every corner. Even the roads, although gravel, were in a fair to good condition, making our driving experience safe and comfortable.

To get that close to the wildlife in the Etosha Nature Reserve was truly an experience of note. The water holes also did not disappoint with a wide variety of animals ranging from giraffe, elephants, rhinos, lions and various different species of antilope. The birdlife is also abundant, colourful and keeps things interesting.

Our visit to the Ovahimba kraal was very interesting and the guide did a good job of intruducing us to the Ovahimba lifestyle, culture and customs.

Touring through Namibia means long distance driving, but the accommodation in the lodges more than makes up for that. very tidy, clean and the personnel are courtious and friendly. All meals were very well prepared and tasty, and plentiful. Namibia left me with the impression that it is a safe place to visit and the people relaxed and friendly. It is a very interesting country to visit and has so much to offer tourists.

I want to thank and commend our guide, Thinus, from CrissCross Safaris, who always makes the safety and enjoyment of his guests first priority. Thinus also shares his enormous wealth of knowledge about Namibia, its history, attractions, culture and people in a very entertaining and informative manner. And when the going gets tough, he is always ready with a little joke to uplift the spirits of the tour group.

Fantastic safari and extremely wonderful trip!
5/5

I am a solo traveler so I was trying to find a group to join in,and Michael(the owner) find me ,answer all my questions really quickly, and with patient (by the way he is really a funny guy).
Our driver ,Elias,is a friendly, sincere person!I always felt comfortable while talking to him and I also consider him my friend!Elias always took care of everyone, and he got a extremely good eye sight! We saw all the big 5,plenty of birds, wildebeest and zebra migration, and lots of other animals.
Our cook Gabriel prepared great food everyday,I really enjoyed the soup!
The camp site in Serengeti and Ngorongoro was really nice! The sky, stars, the sound ,and lots of wild life surrounding us,it was just fantastic.
I think I am lucky because everyone in the group I joined is so friendly, funny, and special. We had lots of laugh and good memories. That the good thing about join in a group!
The only disadvantage is that everyone got a different schedule(for join a group),some leave earlier or some later, and sometimes we have to cut our trip shorter to fit the schedule.
It would be better if we could discuss the schedule previously and try to have the most time to visit without delayed other's plan.

It was a really really great trip more than my expectations! And I like that Michael showed at the last day and say goodbye to everyone~I will recommend Northern circuit adventure for my friend in Taiwan!
Thanks a lot!

Kruger in winter
Overall rating
5/5

Kruger National Park in South Africa is one of he best places in the world to escape the winter cold.
Many internationals and locals tourist flocks to this beautiful protected wildlife wilderness.

Birding in winter is not the best as many species left to the warmer parts of Africa and even Europe area's but their is still some stunning species flying around mostly residents like the Bateleur and Martial eagles.

This is also a very good time to observe crocodiles and hippos doing sunbathing as the water temperature is cool and reptiles are cold blooded so they seek the son.

The shrubs and trees loses their leaves and the bush becomes more open to see animals from a distance especially Leopards are very active next to rivers and waterholes as animals concentrates during the heat of the day. Lions also uses this opportunity to wait for unexpected pray animals like Zebra and Giraffe to drink so that they can launch a surprise attack.

The landscape turn a light brown colour and sunrises and sunsets are unmatched with the dust and smoke from veld fires covering the horizons. The stars are also amazing at night although you will need a jacket and blanket on game drives early morning and late afternoons it worth the effort.

The Kruger is a special place during the year but the winter sun changes this landscape into a amazing place defiantly worth a visit for a couple of days.

All major restaurants in the park has been upgraded and the Skukuza Airport just re-open so fly in safaris is possible.

Definitely a trip of a lifetime
5/5

I visited Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire in 5 days/4 nights with Big Time Safaris and I saw everything I always wanted to see. My friend and I travelled in April which is apparently “low season” Weather was wonderful, except few rain showers at night, and prices were much lower, I would recommend travelling during low season if you are on budget.
Our tour guide John was very helpful and friendly; he recommended a stop at Maasai village which is an unforgettable experience and a “must see” At first, we signed up for camping safari, because it was in our budget, but upon our arrival to Arusha, our travel agent asked if we wanted to spent few nights at the lodge for a reasonable fee and that turned out to be a great decision and opportunity. The lodges at Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater were amazing and the food was incredible. The views are fascinating. I woke up every morning at the down to see the sun rise. If budget permits, I would recommend staying at least one night in one of the lodges. Our cook was good, our meals were well planned and they made sure that meals were prepared according to our specific diets.
Everyone at the agency was wonderful and very helpful. The tour agent in Arusha gave us good recommendations on where to dine and helped us with plane tickets from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar. The travel agent in the main office, Martha, stayed in touch with me throughout the trip and made sure that everything was ok. Martha went a mile further and even helped book a hotel in Zanzibar.
