The best times to explore Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve are the two Dry seasons and the months that immediately follow them, from December to March and June to August. During the height of the Wet season, in the months from April to May and September to November, the terrain can become very muddy and vehicles can easily get stuck. So at this time of year game drives may be restricted to the main road through the reserve. This can still be rewarding but limits what you can see.
Vegetation thins and animals gather near water, making them easier to spot
Chimpanzee trekking is less difficult due to drier trails
There is plenty of sunshine
The amazing views are hindered by the haze
Lush, green landscapes
The best time for birding is March

Some tracks become impassable and walking trails get slippery after heavy rains
It might drizzle for days and afternoon thunderstorms should be expected
