South Africa is a glorious unique blend of diversity for all five senses.
My daughter and I had several true adventures in S. Africa. We visited Victoria Falls/Zimbabwe, Sabi Sands near Kruger Park, and
Capetown for New Year's 2019. It began with a rocky start of not being on a hotel pic up list for our for our accommodations in Zimbabwe, to a glorious finish in Capetown where we enjoyed a vast array of outings from Table Mountain to the Winelands. The vacation was too
short as often they are, but the memories are abundant.

Wonderful!!
Everything in Africa was as expected except hotter. The view of the animals was awesome. The food was terrific. Our travel company, Kruger Park Travel, took very good care of us.
Exhilarating
Within the first 5 minutes we saw a hunt between a lioness and a zebra. This happened exactly as our guide was telling us that it was very rare to see a lion, and not to get our hopes up. We also had a huge male elephant walk directly by our jeep. Our guide went above and beyond to make sure we had a amazing experience. Lunch was surprisingly good. They kept marketing it as a light lunch but it was wraps, salads and fries with options to buy soda, ice cream, beer. We had a great view at lunch with giraffes and zebras. Would highly recommend!

Kruger Park is the real deal
Staying in one of the Kruger park campsites was the best decision we could have made! The only thing separating us from the wildlife was an electric fence that surrounded the camp. Often we would just be leaving the park to begin our game drive and stumble across something right after getting out of the gate. The accommodations were excellent, with the option to camp in tents or sleep in an Air conditioned hut. Saw all the big 5 except for lions but we made up for it with a spectacular sighting of cheetahs.

Surprisingly abundant wildlife sightings
We did a 3 day safari tour of Kruger Park in an open vehicle with Simon from Wild Wings safaris. We were worried that the time would be too short but we saw an amazing abundance of wildlife. We saw many, many elephants, giraffes, rhinos, all varieties of antelope, warthogs, hyenas and even multiple lions every day. We did not find cheetah or leopard this trip but we were not disappointed.
Our guide Simon was fabulous and was excellent at finding animals and taught us a great deal. He was also a great cook. This was a great holiday.

Beautiful nature. Feelings I have never felt before!
Weather is just perfect when it's completely dark and gloomy in Europe. Scenes are absolutely stunning as well.
I booked through Kurt Safari where the staff were very helpful and always available for questions and very well-informed guides!

Amazing - Bucket list checked. Unmissable experience
We were picked up at Joburg airport and the journey to Kruger is not short. We went on a 9 seat van that was ok, but the journey is very long and had 3 stops.
At last, we arrive at our lodge and there were hippos bathing in the lake in front and elephants around. There were so many animals... We were so excited that we forgot the long journey in 10 seconds. The swimming pool is essential in the lodge because the heat in the middle of the day is unbearable.
We did a sunset Safari and we saw lots of animals: Impalas, Zebras, Elephants, Rhinos and Hyenas and when it got dark we were the only ones in the road with 2 big flashlights searching for more animals.
In the next day our guide ask us for our expectation, and we ask to go look for the cats. He did it, we saw lions and even a leopard eating an impala and climbing a tree to eat it. It was amazing.
After lunch it was too hot and all the animals were hidden in the bush so I would recommend a morning and afternoon safari if possible instead of an all-day safari.
In the second day it was even more impressing with lions crossing the roads and even a fight between a lion and a lioness 15 meters away from us. We saw a one week elephant so clumsy.. And so many other things. We loved it.
